It looks like 2022 will bring a facelift version for pretty much every model in the Mercedes-Benz lineup, and the A-Class is no exception. The facelift A-Class was caught testing for the first time back in December 2021 and it was shortly followed by the facelift version of the AMG A35.

Now, it is the AMG A45's turn to go out for a testing session in the snow of Scandinavia.

What changes are expected on the exterior?

Just like all the other facelift Mercedes models, you shouldn't expect any major changes here. That's the reason why the camouflage is minimal on this prototype. If you look very carefully, you will notice a slightly redesigned front and rear bumper; but, it needs a close look.

The more noticeable change is at the headlights - they will be slimmer than the current ones. The rear lights will also get a new graphic.

What will be different on the interior?

Small updates are also expected on the interior. Our spy photographers were able to catch the interior of the next AMG A45 and it looks like the touchpad for the MBUX system in the center console has been deleted completely.

Rumors suggest that there's going to be a bigger touchscreen and the latest version of the MBUX infotainment system. New materials and color schemes are also likely to be made available.

Any changes under the hood?

The facelift A45 will most likely not receive any updates under the hood. This means the 2023 model year will be offered with the same turbocharged, 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers a total of 382 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque in the base form and 416 horses and 369 pound-feet of torque in the A45 S form.

The sprint from 0 to 60 mph will be made in 4.0 seconds, while the A45S will be 0.1 seconds quicker. Top speed will be limited to 155 mph for the base form and to 168 mph in the S version.

When should we expect the facelift AMG A45?

The facelift Mercedes-AMG A45 is expected to be unveiled by the end of 2022, with sales set to begin in 2023.
