Do you remember the Project Maybach launched back in December 2021? It was the last Maybach project designed by fashion designer Virgil Abloh before he passed away in November 2021 after being diagnosed with cardiac angiosarcoma in 2019.

However, it seems that Virgil Abloh has one more project developed with Maybach: a special edition based on the 2023 Maybach S-Class S 680. It will be limited to only 39 units for the American market, and 150 units for the world.

What makes the 2023 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class By Virgil Abloh unique?

As we already reported, this special project is based on the Mercedes‑Maybach S‑Class S680 edition, and like many other Maybach models, it features a two-tone paint job. The upper part of the vehicle is finished in glossy obsidian black, while the lower part, the side flanks, and the special set of Maybach 20-inch forged rims are painted in a sand hue.

The same two-tone scheme continues on the interior. The seats, the steering wheel, the doors, the lower dashboard, and the ceiling are covered in sand-colored Nappa leather with contrasting sand-colored décor trims and strips. The floormats are black and they feature a very cool sand-colored leather border and embroidered Mercedes‑Maybach logo. Also, a very cool looking Mercedes-Maybach and Virgil Abloh logo is inscribed on the middle of the center-console, rear cushions, head restraints and door sill panel.

Also, this special edition will be offered with an even more luxurious variation of the Maybach MBUX suite that now runs a personalized user interface.

Maybach announced that all customers will be given a special custom-made wooden box covered in sand-colored Nappa leather emblazoned with the Mercedes‑Maybach and Virgil Abloh logo. In the box, you will find a 1/18 scale replica of the limited-edition car, the two car keys, and a carabiner hook.

Since this special edition is based on the Maybach S680, it will be offered with a twin-turbo, 6.0-liter V-12 that delivers 604 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque. It goes from 0 to 62 mph in just 4.5 seconds and up to a top speed of 155 mph.
