Mercedes-Benz Creates Lil’ Dealership for Kids and It’s the Cutest Thing Ever
Remember the days of your youth, when you were driving about in your pedal-power car dreaming of one day driving the big ones on the street? That’s what Mercedes-Benz thought about when they put up the Lil’ Benz Dealership inside the King of Prussia Mall in Pennsylvania.
If you’re a Mercedes owner or fan, you’ll quickly resonate to the company’s motto - The Best or Nothing. Well, for the Holidays, it just got updated to ’The Bestest or Nothing’ and, to emphasize just how good the Merc experience is, children got to experience it too thanks to this small-size dealership packed with all the electric ride on cars with the three-pointed star on the nose.
Mercedes Prepares for Christmas With a Whole Bunch of Auto-Themed Products
Like most automakers, Mercedes is gearing up for the holidays in its own way. Christmas, after all, is a few weeks away, and if you’re in a time crunch to buy gifts for your loved ones, the German automaker can hook you up with a catalog Mercedes-branded items. Fancy something classy? There’s a "his and hers" watch that you can buy for your significant other. Running out of gift ideas for your child? A balance bike should put a smile on his or her face. Mercedes’ Christmas catalog runs long, and it runs deep. There’s a gift in there for everyone, including yourself, that is if you happen to be into something like golf.
IWC Schaffhausen Pays Tribute To AMG’s 50th Anniversary The Only Way It Knows How
Mercedes-Benz is celebrating AMG’s 50th anniversary in style, and now that Swiss watchmaker IWC is involved, that statement can be taken quite literally. The Swiss-based premium timepiece company has served as the official timekeeper for Mercedes-AMG since 2004. IWC is marking the celebration with a special edition version of its Ingenieur watch.
The watch is low-key compared to what we’ve become used to when automakers collaborate with watchmakers. Often times, these collaborations result in outlandish-looking watches that are either decked in fancy trim, have elaborate straps, or are just look plain bonkers. But IWC opted for a subtle approach with its AMG anniversary watch, resisting the urge to be flamboyant and instead opt for class and sophistication. The result is a watch that showcases the style, grace, and all-around performance that AMG has been known to provide for the last five decades. Only 250 examples of the IWC Ingenieur Chronograph will be made. And while there’s still no price on these limited edition watches, we do know five of them came with the special edition AMG GT3 race cars Mercedes-AMG unveiled at the Nürburgring in May.

We’ve covered our share of awesome Lego vehicles on this site, but they all pale in comparison to this – the Mercedes-Benz Arocs 3245. This is Lego’s latest product in its Technic line and comes complete with a working outrigger, stability arms, and dump bed.
This impressive scale model measures 12 inches tall, five inches wide, and 21 inches long and is comprised of 2,793 individual pieces. Many of those pieces are new for Lego, including power functions and new pneumatic actuators. Those actuators operate the dump bed and the boom arm via controls mounted on the side and cab of the truck.
“It is a perfect fit for LEGO Technic,” says LEGO Senior Marketing Manager Niels Henrik Horsted. “Our ground pillars are authenticity, functionality and challenging and engaging building. Whenever we design a new set, our aim is to give Technic builders a stunning model that looks as detailed as its real life version as possible. It should have all the main functionalities you would expect. And we strive to introduce inspiring new ways to build with the Technic elements. Our version of the Arocs 3245 fulfils that in every way.”
The Lego Technic kit will be available August 1, 2015 for a price that’s not yet disclosed. However, with all the working bits included here, it’s hard to picture this being anything but expensive. Then again, Lego essentially include two trucks for the price of one. Instructions for building an alternate truck, a Mercedes Articulated Construction Truck, are included in the box and utilize all the same pieces.

This is not the first time that Mercedes-Benz has tried its hand at bicycle design, and it isn’t the first time a Mercedes-AMG model was used as inspiration either, but the Rotwild GT S mountain bike is surely a premiere from a lot of perspectives. While the full-suspension Rotwild R.X45 AMG from 2013 was linked with the A45 AMG Edition 1 in terms of style, the new bike’s name and livery are based on the Mercedes-AMG GT S. As some of our bike-loving readers know, the high-performance carmaker is the official sponsor of the AMG Rotwild mountainbike racing team, and the two companies have had a marketing partnership since 2013.
Painted in AMG solarbeam, the Rotwild GT S is constructed mainly from carbon fiber, and has a number of features that probably only make sense for an MTB connoisseur, such as a Shimano DI2 XTR-2 front derailleur and a 180/160mm AL-Spyder rotor. Only 100 bikes will be manufactured, each having a whopping starting price of 9,990 Euros (approx $10,900 as of 4/6/2015).
While that sounds a bit pricey, the Rotwild GT S was not built for your daily commute. This is a hand-built, carbon-fiber, professional MTB that comes with a package that only dedicated mountain bikers require, including a transport bag, a damper setup pump and basic repair tools. In other words, it’s like the Mercedes-AMG GT S of mountain bikes, and that price is not that different from a Porsche Design or BMW bicycle.

With the new Mercedes-AMG GT on its way to dealerships for the 2016 model year, the German brand teamed up with two scale-model car manufacturers to bring us miniatures of its Porsche 911 contender. Although Mercedes is no stranger to diecast model cars, having already launched scaled-down miniatures of its current C-Class and E-Class, these new partnerships will spawn AMG GT replicas in three sizes.
The smallest of them is reproduced in 1:43 scale. The miniature measures 10.5 cm (4.1 inches), it is made from 42 parts, and comes on a printed base in a special presentation box. Built by Norev, a mid-level model-car manufacturer, the replica is based on the AMG GT S trim and is offered in three color combinations: Designo Cardinal Red Exterior with black interior, Magnetite Black exterior, white/black interior, and Designo Diamond Bright White with maroon/black interior. Pricing is set at €34.90 ($38 as of 03/27/2015).
The second model is crafted in 1:18 scale, measuring 25.2 cm (10 inches). Unlike the 1:43 replica, the 1:18 has 101 parts and features movable doors, hood, and trunk. It is also based on the AMG GT S trim and is available in AMG Solarbeam Yellow exterior with black interior, Iridium Silver exterior with Red Pepper/black interior, and Designo Mango Selenite Grey exterior with Silver Pearl/black interior. The models costs €79.90 (about $87), which includes a screwdriver for detaching it from the base, and a pair of gloves.

Mercedes-AMG models cost a lot of money, so not everybody can afford to get one this Holiday season. But Mercedes-Benz Accessories is giving buyers a less expensive alternative with the release of five exclusive Mercedes-AMG "White Series" scale models. These limited-edition 1:18 scale models were created by model car design specialist GT Spirit right down the model’s minutest of details. The first batch of releases cover the first five models of the series, featuring AMG vehicles like the A45 AMG Edition 1, the CLA 45 AMG Edition 1, the C63 AMG Black Series, the CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake, and the G65 AMG.
The details behind the creation of the scale models are pretty impressive. GT Spirit actually used 70 to 100 different parts to create these pint-sized mirror images of the actual AMG vehicles. All five models were also given designo diamond-bright white bodies, the same finish all of the real-life AMG models currently offer. A special polyurethane-resin was also used on the body of the models, creating intricate details specifically taken from their full-sized counterparts. Lastly, each of the scale models were given AMG metal plates that show the individual numbering of the specific piece. The numbers go from 0001 to 1000, driving home the point that these scale models come with a lot of exclusivity.
More AMG models are expected to follow suit until GT Spirit runs the entire gamut of Mercedes-AMG’s portfolio. For now, these five models are what’s available and each one of them costs €119 ($148 as of 12/11/2014) per piece. If you’re interested in any one of these models as holiday presents, you can check for their availability at any one of Mercedes-Benz’s sales partners.Unfortunately, although you can buy these scale models now, you’ll have to gift wrap a picture, as they do not ship until January 2015.

Just in time for the holidays, Mercedes tuner extraordinaire, Carlsson, is offering a select few customers a chance to own a limited-edition timepiece. Called the SLK 340 chronograph, the same name of the one-off competition car built by Carlsson and presented at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year, the 99-piece chronograph features a decadent of luxurious pieces befitting its exclusive label.
The watch comes with an ionized matte-black stainless-steel bracelet that features two contrasting gloss-black link highlights. One look at the face and you’ll instantly be reminded of its motorsports inspiration, further emphasized by a red second hand, subsidiary dials, and luminous points and hands, making for an ideal watch to have in your wrist when in the dark.
The tachymeter scale on the bezel and the date display enhance the versatile appeal of the watch while the 45 mm diameter case was machined from stainless steel and treated with the same durable ionized matte-black finish of the stainless steel bracelet.
As was mentioned, the Carlsson SLK 340 chronograph is limited to only 99 units at &euro299 a pop, which is a little over $400 based on current exchange rates.

It seems that Mercedes has become bored with creating cars and has decided to get a bigger piece of the retail pie by turning their attention to a new direction: cologne for men. That’s right, Mercedes is now in the smell good business. Their first product was developed in cooperation with the INCC Group and it will be available from selected specialist retailers from the first quarter of 2012, as an eau de toilette, after shave, deodorant, and shower and body gel.
The fragrance combines woody notes with floral freshness. The cool top note features Calabrian bergamot, lemon essence, and Italian mandarin, while the middle note is a warm, spicy mix of bourbon pepper, nutmeg, violet and galbanum resin. The base note provides a spicy finish to the perfume and includes American cedar wood, vetyver grass, and patchouli. These scents are all combined and packaged in a masculine, modern, and elegant bottle design.
Success sure does smell sweet, doesn’t it?
Somehow, we’ve gotten used to automakers releasing special edition bikes so it doesn’t surprise us anymore when another brand comes out with their latest two-wheeled offerings.
We’ve seen Maserati, Audi, McLaren, Range Rover, Mini, and even Shelby come out with their own bicycles in the past few months, and now German automaker Mercedes is getting ready to jump on the bandwagon. Best of all for Merc, they’re actually releasing a number of products instead of just one.
Some of the new products that have been released range from a full-suspension mountain bike to a high-end carbon fiber racing bike, to fitness bikes, and yes, even kid bikes with their own set of training wheels.
The full-suspension mountain bike weighs only 12.8 kilos and comes with a Fox Racing F32 RL suspension fork, a DT Swiss suspension strut, a 30-speed x.9 gear shift system from SRAM, hydraulic AVID Elixir 5 disc brakes, and DT Swiss X1900 wheels. All in all, the Mercedes mountain bike, and all the trinkets that come with it, will cost you an exorbitant sum of €3,299, which is about $4,650 based on current exchange rates.

We see a lot of concept cars here and there in the auto industry, but it’s very rare to see a concept watch come across our pages. The famous French designer Fabien Cacheux has unveiled the new "Silver Arrow" GT Series concept watch in honor of the new Mercedes SLS AMG. You may have seen some of his previous work in the famous Bugatti 16 C Galibier watch.
The new Silver Arrow GT Series watch features a central tourbillon, power reserve, and a tachometer needle’s three star-shaped reflecting the emblem of the brand. The power reserve is at 6 o’clock. The bracelet is made of titanium neoprene and opens and closes like the butterfly doors of the Mercedes. The two buttons (Open / Close) surrounding the crown can open and close the car remotely.
This idea is similar to the one of the Aston Martin DBS Volante Watch which can also open and close the doors of the DBS in addition to turning the lights on and off.
The "Silver Arrow" GT Series concept watch is as good of an idea as any other watch that has seen production, but, as we mentioned earlier, the decision to produce this timepiece is still up in the air.

The 1:43 models are produced by Schuco of Fürth and have a price of €28. They come in a choice of stannite grey, fire opal or indigolite blue.
The 1:18 models are manufactured by Norev. The interior is faithfully reproduced on all models. On the 1:18 model, the doors can be opened to provide a closer look inside. Both the bonnet and the luggage compartment can also be opened up on this model. The interior and the luggage compartment are flock-coated throughout, fully in keeping with the original. This miniature is available for €59.90 in obsidian black, fire opal, and iridium silver.
The high quality models take about a year to make and are made under strict confidentiality. The miniatures will be on show at Mercedes dealerships on March 27, 2010.
Press release after the jump.
For us mere mortals, owning a car like a new Mercedes SLS AMG is about as far-fetched as Conan O’Brien and Jay Leno enjoying a quiet conversation without the thought of strangling each other.
But even if we don’t come any close to having an SLS AMG in our garages, Mercedes was kind enough to offer something even us could afford: an SLS AMG scale model.
The scale model comes in three dimensions - 1:87, 1:43 and 1:18 - and nine different versions. Prices range from 15.79 euro to 59.49 euro depending on how big of a scale model you plan to buy.
Of course you will only be able to admire the car, but its better than nothing, yes?
And just in case you need a short refresher on the car, the SLS AMG will be powered by a 6.3-liter V8 engine located front-mid that will develop 571 hp and up to 650 Nm of torque. The engine will be mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, and will sprint the car from 0 to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds, while top speed will go up to 197 mph.
