The 2020 Mercedes-AMG A45 is the range-topping version of the fourth-generation A-Class hatchback. Unveiled in 2019, it slots above the AMG A35 in the range thanks to a more powerful engine, a more aggressive exterior, and extra equipment on the inside. Powered by a redesigned version of the AMG-tuned four-cylinder engine that cranks out 382 horsepower, the 2020 AMG A45 is the most powerful A-Class to date. But for the first time ever, Mercedes-Benz introduced an S-badged version of the hatchback, with even more power. In this tune, the AMG A45 delivers an amazing 416 horses, more than any other hot-hatch on the market as of 2020. This four-cylinder is also the most powerful of its kind in production, as well as the engine with the highest horsepower per liter. Performance wagon fans from the U.S. have missed yet another enticing, fun new model, in the form of the new (second generation) Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake. More specifically, one of the AMG-tuned performance versions, the Mercedes-AMG CLA 35. The sleek new CLA load lugger is quite a pretty car, with a striking interior, and this AMG version also adds proper poke and cornering ability into the mix.
Power comes from a 302 horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder that sends its power to all four wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Naturally, since it is an AMG mode, it features styling tweaks and upgrades to set it apart from CLA Shooting Brake examples and the same goes for the interior. It’s a car that packs a proper punch, but it’s also practical, very stylish and very modern-feeling inside too. None of the modifications are over the top, though, because, as you might know, this is the lesser of the two AMG versions of the CLA wagon and the design needs to reflect this.
For most people, the more powerful Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 Shooting Brake will be too much, not necessarily in terms of looks, because that model doesn’t look significantly more extreme than the CLA 35, but in terms of mixing sporty looks and performance. The CLA 35 will undeniably be more popular primarily because it looks pretty much the same as the CLA 45 and most buyers won’t feel the need for the extra 100 horsepower that the more powerful version offers and the inherent extra performance.
2020 Mercedes-AMG GT
The AMG GT represents everything that’s right about a Grand Touring car. It has a luscious body with that classic long hood that houses a high-performance engine, namely the 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-8, the widened hips, the low roofline coupled with a generous windshield and the rounded, cheeky-looking, tail end. It’s good for a day at the Nurburgring-Nordschleife in the same way it could cope with miles upon miles behind trucks on the Autobahn or stranded at a stop light in downtown Berlin. Believe it or not, it’s been four years since Mercedes-Benz unveiled the AMG GT. Now, the front-engined two-door sports car that replaced the gull-winged SLS received another restyle and was brought to the L.A. Auto Show. In the news are the AMG Dynamics integrated driving control systems, the exterior changes meant to bring the 2-door models closer in appearance to the AMG GT 4-door Coupe and a revitalized interior.
For 2020, Mercedes-Benz will offer the familiar AMG GT and GT S Coupe models, the AMG GT Convertible, the AMG GT R and, finally, the new AMG GT R PRO, a track-focused beast that’s among the five fastest road-legal cars to ever lap the Nurburgring-Nordschleife.
2020 Mercedes-AMG GT R Pro
The Mercedes-AMG GT R is the range-topping version of the AMG GT, a coupe introduced in 2014. The GT R arrived in 2017 with a more aggressive design, a beefed-up engine, and increased performance. It’s the most powerful and expensive version of the coupe yet. At the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show, Mercedes introduced a track-ready upgrade, called the AMG GT R Pro. Fitted with body parts and drivetrain components inspired by motorsport, the Pro bridges the gap between the road-legal AMG GT R and the race-spec GT3 and GT4 iterations of the sports car. It’s not more powerful than the GT R, but it features upgraded chassis and suspension components, it’s lighter, and a bit more aerodynamic. It’s a worthy rival for the Porsche 911 GT3 RS!
2020 Mercedes-AMG Project One
Just a few years ago, Mercedes floated plans to create a new hybrid hypercar, one that would dominate in the burgeoning world of electrified ultimate-performance machines. The German automaker confirmed those plans a year ago, and now, with AMG celebrating its 50th anniversary, the uber-car has made its big debut at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. Mercedes says the new mega-machine brings “the very latest and efficient, fully-fledged Formula 1 hybrid technology to the road.” That includes a 1.6-liter V-6 that’s shockingly similar to the powerplant in Merc’s F1 car, spinning to 11,000 rpm and producing upwards of four figures. Drivers sit in a carbon fiber tub, stick harder with active aerodynamics, and turn better with push rod suspension. All impressive stuff, to be sure, but is it enough to topple the current top-dog performance machines?
Regardless, the Project One is already a massive hit, garnering huge attention for Mercedes-AMG and nearly selling out even before its big sheet pull. Drawing from Mercedes’ championship-winning experience at the top of the motorsport heap and developed with input from various AMG Formula 1 team members, the Project One is the very definition of a halo car, promising to set the technological drum beat by which all future AMG cars will dance. 2015 Mercedes-AMG C63
AMG began meddling with the C-Class in 1995 — one year after the C-Class debuted — when it released the C36 AMG and its 268-horsepower V-6. The 1998 model year brought about the release of the C43 AMG, which featured a larger V-8 engine rated at 302 ponies. AMG then followed that up with the 349-horsepower C32 AMG in 2002, and then with the 362-horsepower C55 AMG in 2005. Finally, in 2008, the C63 AMG sent the sedan into 450-horsepower territory with a huge 6.2-liter V-8 tweaked to generate 451 horses. With the standard 2015 C-Class having arrived in dealerships in early 2014, Mercedes-Benz is rolling out a brand-new iteration of the AMG-prepped C63.This time around dubbed Mercedes-AMG C63, with the Germans dropping the Benz moniker from the official name, the new-generation vehicle marks the beginning of a new era for the sedan.
Much like its predecessor did in 2008, the 2015 Mercedes-AMG C63 gets a brand-new engine in the form of a biturbo, 4.0-liter V-8. The unit is identical with the one previously launched in the AMG GT sports car and comes not with just more horsepower, but with improved fuel efficiency as well. 2018 Mercedes-AMG GT R
Unveiled to the public at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, the Mercedes-AMG GT is a two-seat sports car designed to replace the SLS AMG. However, the new coupe is smaller than its predecessor, and unlike the SLS, it was developed as a rival for the Porsche 911. The GT is also the first AMG to use the new "Mercedes-AMG" nomenclature and the first model to make use of the new twin-turbo, 4.0-liter V-8 engine. Just like the SLS, the AMG GT spawned a GT3-spec race car and will also receive at least two higher performance versions.
One of them is the GT R and was unveiled on June 24, 2016 at the Brooklands track in England, where the sports car was driven by both Tobias Moers, CEO of Mercedes-AMG, and Lewis Hamilton, reigning Formula One world champion with the German brand.
"With the new AMG GT R, we have reached the next level of driving performance. This road-going sports car with motor-racing genes and innovative technical solutions offers an ultimate driving experience that allows people to feel our motorsport origins in every fiber. It combines the driving dynamics of our AMG GT3 racing car with the everyday practicality of the AMG GT," said Moers.
The Mercedes-AMG GT R is the third member of the AMG GT family and the most powerful version of the sports car as of June 2016. It will go on sale in November 2016 with deliveries to commence in March 2017. Until then, let’s have a closer look at Mercedes’ rival for the Porsche 911 GT3.

Mercedes has a lot of reasons to be celebrating these days, having just conquered Formula One after seeing rival Red Bull dominate in recent years. This year, Mercedes finally turned the tables with its own dominant run, sweeping the drivers’ and constructors’ titles in record-breaking fashion. Such an accomplishment deserves its due praise, or in the case of Mercedes, a pair of special edition 2014 SL63 AMGs to commemorate its triumphant return to the top of Formula One.
These SL63 AMG models aren’t your typical SL63’s as they were co-created by reigning Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton and runner-up Nico Rosberg. It’s fitting that these two had hands in building these special-edition models. Hamilton and Rosberg were so far ahead of the field this season that the championship quickly evolved into a two-man race between the Mercedes teammates. Hamilton eventually won out, but the real victory belongs to Mercedes, which developed a car that was miles ahead of the competition.
All in all, Mercedes will develop 38 examples of the World Championship 2014 Collector’s Edition, 19 each for Hamilton and Rosberg and dedicated to each of the 19 Formula One race tracks used in the 2014 season.
Unfortunately, the models come at a premium price and it’s unlikely that anybody with money to spare can just scoop up and get one or both versions of this special edition SL63 AMG. In order for you to be eligible to buy any one of these two, you’re going to need to be a part of Mercedes’ Circle of Excellence, the company’s exclusive club reserved for VIPs and Mercedes lifers.

Although AMG started selling its own versions of the C-Class as early as 1995, it wasn’t until 1998 when the first beefed-up wagon arrived. Affalterbach’s first grocery-getter was based on the C43 AMG and borrowed the sedan’s 302-horsepower, 4.3-liter V-8. The following generation, the C55 AMG, gained an estate version as well, this time motivated by the 362 horses coming from a 5.5-liter V-8. In 2008, the AMG-prepped C-Class received an even bigger V-8 engine displacing 6.2 liters and churning 451 ponies. As we approach the 2014 Paris Motor Show, AMG is rolling out a brand-new generation of the C63 AMG, this time around based on the recently unveiled 2015 C-Class and dubbed the Mercedes-AMG C63..
The high-performance wagon joins its sedan sibling in receiving AMG’s all-new biturbo, 4.0-liter V-8. Shared with the AMG GT sports car, the mill is the first to send the C63 into 500-horsepower territory through its range-topping S version. When it comes to beefed-up Mercedes-Benz vehicles, very few companies can match the the brilliance of Brabus or Lorinser. Their offerings are always unique and hit the streets with enough horsepower to put more than a few sports cars to shame and make them crawl back to their fancy garages.
However, both companies tend to overdo some of their projects, with several results looking like pimped out cars that wear more chutzpah than we can handle. Just have a look at Lorinser’s take on the 2014 S-Class or its Easybrid package for the Smart ForTwo and you’ll understand what we mean.
Unlike those tuning houses, Carlsson uses a slightly milder and more attractive approach. Aside from the exaggerated bumper seen on the 2014 CLA, its creations are usually balanced and come with a healthy dose of seriousness attached to them. Actually, a few Carlssons can be labeled as sleepers waiting to unleash enormous amounts of horsepower over an unsuspecting victim.
The same can be said about the tuner’s most recent creation, the CE30. Based on the 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class, the Carlsson-badged sedan is only a tad more aggressive than its standard kin in terms of visual updates, but it can churn out more than 500 horsepower.

One may mistake it for the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Electric Drive, but it’s not. This rather ostentatious SLS AMG has been modded by the folks at the AMG Performance Studio.
For an additional cost, owners can send their cars over for a complete makeover and here is one such example of an SLS AMG tastefully modified to customer preference with bright fluorescent exterior and black accents. Most of the aerodynamic upgrades you see here are standard equipment on the Black Series.
The AMG wheels have been finished in a gloss black with fluorescent accents. The brake calipers, however have been left Solarbeam Yellow which is bit odd.
Underneath the paint, all the bits and pieces are from the standard SLS AMG Black, along with that glorious 6.2-liter, V-8 engine that puts out 622 horsepower and 468 pound-feet of torque. With this monster V-8, 60 mph comes up in just 3.5 seconds and the top speed is set at 198 mph.
Anyway, Mercedes-Benz has not revealed the name of the person who ordered this flashy car, but we expect to hear more from them about the very first SLS AMG Black Series to get the spa treatment from its very own Performance studio.

If you are looking for a cheap, front-wheel-drive hot hatchback, then this isn’t the one for you. It is a Mercedes Benz A Class, and it’s got a masterfully crafted AMG engine under that custom hood. Welcome to the Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG.
This one has been wrapped in yellow gloss and a RevoZport kit, which includes the aero vanes on the front bumper, splitter, a rear spoiler, rear diffuser, and much more. The yellow color does drum up thoughts of the SLS AMG Black Series supercar, which Shmee150 rightly points out. It actually does go well with the A45, especially with the contrasting black theme.
The hood is one-piece, carbon-fiber unit and so are the wing mirrors. The roof of this A45 has also been blacked-out, as are the windows. Even the grille with the three-pointed star standing proud has been neatly incorporated into the theme. The wheels, which are in matte black, are from Brabus and the calipers are coated in solid red.
Then we come to the interior. The A45 AMG has one of the finest interiors in its segment. The influence of the SLS AMG supercar can be found here, as well. There is leather, Alcantara and red stitching. The dials are lined with brushed steel and so are the triple air-con vents. Altogether, a superb job, we must say.

This car really stops the conversation, to some extent. Much as new cars get critiqued and reviewed from afar, only a few hours with the E550 Cabrio on a sunny day is all we — or you — will need to fall in love.
All the best parts of the soft new Mercedes-Benz aesthetic and brand appeal are present, from the high-tech full-LED option up front, to the AirScarf and embracing Sport seats inside that use active bolsters in the twist.
All that, with the breeze in your hair and 60 mph in just over 5 seconds. There is only one.
