Mercedes wants This New AMG GLE to be a Future Classic
Everyone loves an anniversary - they are a special time to remember where you came from. Car manufacturers especially love anniversaries because it gives them a chance to tell potential customers how long they’ve been on the block. 2022 happens to be the 55th anniversary of AMG, so Mercedes decided we needed another version of the GLE. SUVs and specifically crossovers have been a booming market for years now and every manufacturer is cashing in. The latest example of this from Mercedes AMG is the limited "Edition 55" version of the AMG GLE 53 and GLE 63 S Coupe.
Rendering: This Is What a Mercedes Maybach S-Class With an AMG Makeover Could Look Like
As most of you know, the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is the more luxurious and powerful version of the standard S-Class. However, for half the price of the Rolls-Royce Ghost, you will have access to a similar level of comfort, features, and better cabin tech. But that is in the real world, where Mercedes-Benz cars are made better by the AMG and the Maybach divisions for those who want more customization. Meet the Maybach-AMG S900, a digital representation of a joint venture of both divisions. These renderings by Emre Husmen give us hope that maybe someday we will witness this collaboration on the much-loved S-Class.
The Mercedes CLE Marks the End for the C-Class and E-Class
Insufficient sales of the E-Class coupe and the C-Class coupe cannot go unnoticed, and it is finally the time to give the last hurrah to the current models. Automotive News reports that the Stuttgart-based carmaker has confirmed the discontinuation of these models with U.S., and the launch of their replacement, the new CLE-Class is imminent. If the cards are played right, the new CLE-Class will be an instant hit because it will be very similar to the Mercedes-AMG SL-Class in terms of design aesthetics and features.
2022 Mercedes EQC 400 Review - The Electric SUV With Hidden Character
Among the big automotive brands, Mercedes has one of the most comprehensive EV lineups currently on the market. The Mercedes EQC was introduced back in 2019 and is the first Mercedes EV. Recently, we got to drive the Mercedes EQC 400, which at this point in time, is the only available version of the compact luxury SUV. The EQC is the founder of the Mercedes’ all-electric, EQ lineup and these are our impressions.
New Mercedes AMG C-Class Hauls Around the Nürburgring...Quietly
A Mercedes AMG C-Class without a V-8 would have been considered unthinkable ten years ago. Back then, the 6.2-liter V-8, which had one of the best exhaust soundtracks since the turn of the century, was dropped in nearly every AMG model in production. This meant that the German car industry was awash with glorious rumbles, snorts, growls, and bellows from Merc’s handcrafted naturally aspirated V-8. Then, by 2016 the current-generation C-Class was in full production with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 that was more efficient and powerful than the old 6.2 but lacked some noise and character.
Spy Shots: An Early Look at the 2023 Mercedes GLC Coupe
Mercedes is ramping up to introduce new generation cars its its line-up. First, the Stuttgart-based automaker’s best-selling compact SUV, the GLC, saw a comprehensive update with new looks and features. After the facelifted GLA was spied, it was finally the time for the GLC Coupe to go for road testing. The spy shots suggest that the front and rear fascias will see massive updates, similar to the GLC SUV. However, we expect the new-gen GLC Coupe to launch sometime in 2024, if not earlier.
2022 Mercedes EQS 580 4MATIC Review: Tech Laden and Eager to Please
The barrage of electric cars has only just begun and my internal voltmeter is pinned to the right. I love this progression of the automobile and the way it’s transforming the driving experience, and the EQS is as transformative as they come.
As of today, Mercedes offers one EV in the U.S. market, and this is it - the EQS Sedan, with a starting price of $103,360 (including destination.) This commences MB’s top-down approach to fleshing out their electric offerings; soon to be joined by an SUV of the same name, an E-Class-like midsize sedan called the EQE, and a more attainable compact SUV called the EQB (not to mention a pair of racy AMG variants.) The goal is to make every newly-developed Mercedes electric-only starting in 2025, while at the same time having an EV alternative for every model the company makes. If it has an EQ in front of its alphanumeric name it’s electric.
2022 Mercedes-Benz E450 All-Terrain Review: The Perfect SUV Alternative?
It’s a classic car-enthusiast grumble: “All these SUVs are nothing but tall station wagons.” But what happens when you get a station wagon that’s almost like a low SUV? That’s the 2022 Mercedes-Benz E450 All-Terrain, currently the only way you can still get an E-Class station wagon.
The E-Class wagon takes everything that makes an E-Class sedan great — fantastic ride and handling, a beautifully finished interior, cutting-edge technology, a decadent overall experience — and nearly three times the trunk space (35 cubic feet of trunk space instead of 13). But starting last year, Mercedes decided this much cargo space needs some SUV trimmings and created the All-Terrain.
What that means is gray plastic cladding, four-wheel height-adjustable air suspension, and standard all-wheel drive. It comes in at a steep base price of $68,400, which is higher than even most luxury SUVs. We spent a week testing the 2022 E450 All-Terrain and here’s what we found.
Top 10 EVs With The Longest Range In 2022
EVs have dawned upon us and have become competent mainstream alternatives to cars with internal combustion engines in the last few years. While their performance was never in doubt, available range has led to some pretty extreme anxiety. The range was one of the major reasons why most folks were skeptical about switching to green cars. But, things are quite different now. Technology is getting better every single day and automakers are able to improve the range of cars like never before. Gone are the days when achieving even 400 miles of range was a distant dream. Today, cars like Lucid Air offer more than 500 miles of range and Tesla more than 400 miles. Concept cars like the Mercedes-Benz Vision EQXX claim to offer over 600 miles of range. It won’t be too long before that becomes a reality, too. For now, here is a list of EVs that offer the best range in 2022.
Spy Shots: An Early Look at the 2024 Mercedes GLA
The GLA has been one of the most popular compact German luxury SUVs, selling at a good pace worldwide. The current GLA is in its second generation, introduced for 2021, and we have already started seeing camouflaged prototypes implying a facelift is in development. However, it is in its initial periods of testing, so don’t expect further announcements until 2023.
The Best Cars Under $35,000
If you are in the market for a new car, there are plenty of options available today. The price bracket doesn’t matter, because you have multiple offerings right from $20,000 to one million dollars, and even beyond that. The only difference is that the options are a lot more when you’re in the mass market segment, especially under $35,000. There’s no denying that the higher the choices, the more it can confuse a person. So, to help sort things for you to a certain extent, we’ve come up with a list of the 10 best cars under $35,000 that you can buy in 2022, and it includes vehicles ranging from crossovers to sedans to SUVs, and even cars from premium marques.
2023 Mercedes-AMG C63: Pushing the Four-Cylinder Engine to its Limit
With electrification being the future, automakers are preparing to say goodbye to big V-8 and V-12 engines. Think about Lamborghini for example, who is ready to replace its famous V-12 with a hybrid powertrain. The same goes for Mercedes, which just announced the end of the V-8 era for the E-Class lineup. However, it seems that the E-Class will not be the only model in the lineup to drop the V-8. The same will happen for all the other AMG models, and the next C63 won’t be an exception.

Mercedes-AMG E63 Final Edition - Ending a 30-Year Legacy
With Mercedes-Benz already testing the next generation E-Class, the company is also preparing to say goodbye to the current model. A special edition E 63 S 4MATIC+ Final Edition, offered in both sedan and station wagon guise, has just been announced to bid farewell to the successful W/S 213 performance model series. However, this special edition is not only saying goodbye to a generation, but also to the V-8 itself, as the next E-Class will not be offered with a V-8 anymore. Rumors suggest the V-8 will be replaced by a hybridized four-cylinder powertrain.
Spy Shots: An Early Look at the 2023 Mercedes GLE Coupe
Updated: The GLE Coupe has been caught testing on the track, and this could be the last time we see it before it is officially revealed. As expected, the changes to the exterior design are still minimal, but they are enough to make it look fresh without making the current model look too old. The biggest highlights include an updated front and rear fascia, a new grille design, updated headlights, and a new matrix for the taillights. Changes inside will be minimal, but an updated infotainment system is expected as is an updated steering wheel.
2022 Mercedes EQS 580 Test Drive: The Definition of Luxury, Electrified
The Mercedes EQS is already on sale as the brand’s EV equivalent to the Mercedes S-Class. The EQS is currently being offered in five different flavors, two of which are AMG variants. Power ranges from 288 horsepower in the base EQS 350 to 761 horsepower in the AMG EQS 53. We recently got the chance to drive the Mercedes EQS 580, which is the most powerful version of the EQS before you step up to the AMG models. I’m here to tell you that it’s better that you’d expect.
The Mercedes-Maybach Haute Voiture Concept Previews a New, Ultra-Luxurious S-Class
When you say “Mercedes-Maybach” you automatically think about luxury and opulence. However, even with the Maybach treatment, the S-Class is still not a worthy competitor for cars like the Rolls Royce Phantom or Bentley Flying Spur Mulliner. However, that could change when this new Concept goes into production.
During the latest Design Essentials event that took place in Nice, France, Mercedes-Maybach displayed the Haute Voiture – a close-to-production concept inspired by haute couture that previews a very luxurious S-Class set to arrive in 2023 as a limited edition.
2022 The Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance F1 Edition Represents $25,000 Worth of Appearance Upgrades
We thought the AMG GT 63S E-Performance couldn’t be upgraded any further, but Mercedes just proved us wrong - at least when it comes to aesthetics. This year AMG celebrates its 55th anniversary and we’ve already seen a lot of special models designed especially for the event. After several AMG 55 editions – including the ones based on the A35, CLA 45 and G63, Mercedes announced the AMG GT 63S E-Performance equipped with the "F1 Edition" package. The model is now available for order and in Europe, the price of the F1 Edition package is €23,800 (roughly $25,000 at the current exchange rates).
2022 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Night Edition
Mercedes-Benz is not the only automaker out there to offer a Night Edition package. In fact, this has been quite a popular name among the special editions lately. For example, Hyundai is offering a Sonata N Line Night Edition, while Ram added the same name to its 1500 and Heavy Duty models.
However, the name has the longest history in the Mercedes-Benz lineup. It has even been offered for models like the Maybach S 650. But, the latest addition is for the E-Class lineup, including coupe, cabrio, sedan, and station wagon, with the exception of the AMG models.
Tug-of-War: Does The AMG G63 Come Out On Top, Or Does It Succumb To The BMW X7 And iX?
The ‘Carwow’ team, spearheaded by Mat Watson, staged a tug-of-war between three SUVs that belong to different segments. One is a new EV, the other, its sibling, a luxurious family SUV, and the final one, an iconic off-roader. We are talking about the BMW iX, the BMW X7, and the Mercedes-AMG G63. Since this is a tug-of-war, you’d expect the G63 to be the winner, since it comes with a lot of tech and equipment that has to do with traction and stability. But, is that really the case?
