If ‘Mansory’ was an actual word, it would be defined as ‘quirky, offbeat, and outlandish’. That is exactly what all the builds by the German tuner are. Despite that, it is one of the most prestigious tuners in the world today. Mansory has worked on numerous exotic models and has given it a twist that will make you rip your eyes out. Yet, we enthusiasts keep coming back for more. Some sorcery this is.
Anyway, the company has rolled out another rendition of its favorite vehicle, the Mercedes-AMG G63, called the Gronos 2021. This is the tuner’s second stint with the moniker, the first one coming in 2013. The Gronos 2021 is as eccentric, unorthodox, and freakish as you’d expect a Mansory to beat. But, it’s all forgiven because it makes a buttload of power more than the standard AMG G63.

The G-Wagen started life being a military truck and was later offered to us civilians as a hardcore off-roader that was matched by vehicles like the Land Rover and the Land Cruiser. The G-Wagen that we know today is fast and powerful, but back in its early days, it was brute and tough. Expedition Motor Company got hold of a 1990 250GD and restored it to perfection. As the company puts it, this is the story of how a rough ex-military war machine becomes a work of art.
2020 Lumma CLR G770 R
German aftermarket company Lumma has come up with a build for another luxurious SUV. The company has given radical twists to many vehicles in the past, including multiple iterations of the Audi Q8. This time, it’s the Mercedes G-Class that goes under the knife.
The German firm is known to design really wild creations, pretty much like Mansory, but this one – according to Lumma’s reputation – is a rather subdued customization. The conversion kit comes with a custom body kit and huge wheels amongst other things.
2021 Mercedes-Benz G-Class 4X4
The Mercedes G-Class is arguably one of the best off-roaders to have graced our planet. Over the years, the company has equipped it with a premium interior and an exorbitant price tag, but it is still regarded as a hardcore off-roader and has a strong footing in the segment despite heavy competition. To further cement this perception, Mercedes created a hardcore version of the already-competent G-Class called the G-Class 4x4. The previous model’s production ended in 2017, but it looks like the monster is back.
The new G-Class 4x4 was spied undergoing high-altitude testing in the Alps and it looked a lot bulkier and monstrous than its normal self – especially the wheel arches – thus reigniting the news of the 4x4 making a comeback. Are we excited? Hell yeah!
2020 Mercedes-AMG G63 by PerformMaster
The Mercedes-AMG G63 is turning out to be quite popular with the aftermarket tuners. We’ve seen builds from companies like Carlex Design, Wald International, Brabus, Mansory, and many others in the past.
This time, another company has laid its hands on the luxurious, boxy SUV. Germany-based PerformMaster has given the G63 a twist that includes a few cosmetic changes and a power bump that pushes it over 800 horses. Is this enough to set it apart from other customized builds?

Brabus is known to customize and give the vehicles it works on a unique twist. Its favorite bunny, the Mercedes-AMG G63, has been transformed into many different iterations. One of them is the Brabus 700. The aftermarket company later tweaked it again with a small performance boost and some exterior upgrades that resulted in the 700 Widestar. Now, another German company called Fostla.de has laid its hands on the Brabus 700 Widestar to give it its own twist. This pattern will make Christopher Nolan proud.
2020 Mercedes-AMG G63 Yachting Edition by Carlex Design
The Mercedes-AMG G63 is a popular SUV among enthusiasts and aftermarket companies alike. This time, Carlex Design Europe has laid its hands on the boxy beauty and gave it a special treatment.
Called the Yachting Limited Edition, this design is a “marine version of the iconic Mercedes G63 AMG” as Carlex puts it. The company has made a few tweaks to the exterior, but most of the changes come inside the cabin. With all the light-shade leather and wood trim on the interior, it looks pretty neat, doesn’t it?
2020 Mercedes-AMG G63 Sports Line Black Bison Edition by Wald International
Wald International is known for its bold and aggressive builds. The Japanese tuner has worked on many popular models in the past, such as the Rolls-Royce Phantom, Porsche Cayenne, and even the little Suzuki Jimny.
This time around, it has laid its hands on the legendary Mercedes-AMG G 63 and named it the Sports Line Black Bison Edition. It is based on the model sold from 2016 to 2018. The company has made significant changes while retaining the boxy SUV’s essence. However, these changes are limited only to the exterior, as Wald International hasn’t tweaked the interior or anything under the hood. Even though the Black Bison Edition comes with aesthetic upgrades, will it sit well with the purists?

Mansory is a premium aftermarket company that has designed some pretty good vehicles in the past. The cars that it has unveiled lately, however, seem to tell a different story. Check out the audacious Lamborghini Urus Venatus or the Rolls-Royce Cullinan Coastline to know what I mean. But, now, the company is back to working on its favorite vehicle, the Mercedes-Benz G-Class.
In 2019, Mansory worked on the Mercedes-AMG G63 to create a Star Trooper edition of the legendary SUV. The company has now created a pickup version of the same Star Trooper SUV with a few more touches. Did Brabus inspire them to do this? The Star Trooper has been designed by Mansory in collaboration with Phillip Plein.

Another auto show and Brabus comes up with another vehicle. This time, the aftermarket company has come up with the so-called Brabus 800 Adventure XLP that is based on the Mercedes-AMG G63. That’s right, the SUV with a pickup bed is debuting at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show.
The prestigious aftermarket company is known for its ability to make your pocket a lot lighter once you’ve bought its products and this time also it’s no different. The Brabus 800 Adventure XLP features exquisite exterior and interior cues and a powerful mill under the hood. Despite the changes, does it warrant a sticker price of over half-a-million dollars?

2019 Mercedes G-Class 900 V-12 by Brabus
These days, V-12s are a big deal and every enthusiast wants to grab one for themselves before they go extinct; in exchange for some big bucks, obviously. Enter Brabus, the aftermarket tuner known to make you go from a being a millionaire to broke in a matter of seconds. But, in return, you become a proud owner of a super-exclusive vehicle that is comparable to absolutely nothing.

2019 Mercedes-Benz G-Class
For the first time since its introduction 40 years ago, Mercedes has given the G-Class a complete makeover. But unlike other “makeovers” that plaster a new body onto an existing chassis, Mercedes went in the opposite direction.
The all-new 2019 G-Class retains its iconic looks while receiving a new, longer frame; independent front suspension; and an interior befitting the Mercedes S-Class sedan. And yet despite its modernization, the G stays true to its off-road roots. It comes with a full-time 4WD system, three locking differentials, skid plates, and proper ground clearance. Among the updates is a new G-Mode that further improves the SUV’s go-anywhere capability with electronic aids.
But let’s be honest – 99 percent of G-Class owners will never trek over anything more challenging than wet grass or a snowy road. That’s why Mercedes injected high levels of luxury into the new model. The wheelbase is two inches longer and 4.7 inches wider for a more planted on-road feel and more interior room. The G will undoubtedly be a smash hit around the world, even with its starting price of €107,040 in Germany – roughly $130,900 U.S. dollars.

2017 Mercedes-AMG G 65 Final Edition
With almost 40 years of history now in the books, it’s time for the Merc G-Wagen to get a substantial update. But before that happens (the new-gen is expected to show at the Detroit Motor Show next year), the German automaker is releasing a new, glossier, limited production run dubbed the G 65 Final Edition. Bearing the same AMG-branded bones as the standard G 65, the Final Edition adds a host of aesthetic enhancements to help it stand out from the crowd. Outside, you’ll find large wheels, specialized trim pieces, and black and bronze coloring, while the interior comes decked out in nappa leather, carbon fiber, and unique badging, all set in the traditional top-shelf G-Wagen luxury.
Merc says over a third of its G-Class vehicle sales are the AMG variants, so it makes total sense to release this spruced-up special edition before we wave goodbye. With only 65 units slated for production, Mercedes is banking on exclusivity to move this thing, because they certainly won’t come cheap. Pricing starts at a whopping 310,233 Euros, which is around $368,000 at current exchange rates (10/19/2017). And in case you’re keeping track, that’s about $150,000 more than the standard AMG G 65. 2017 Mercedes-AMG G63 RS 850 by Posaidon
The Mercedes-AMG G 63 may look like a car that has little care for the world of aftermarket tuning, but that couldn’t be further away from the truth. The hulking SUV has actually been a favorite subject among aftermarket tuners, and we see that on full display with this new tuning program from Poseidon.
The program is called the G 63 RS 850, and you don’t need to be a mathematician to know that the “850” in the program’s name refers to the kind of power the AMG G 63 now has at its disposal. The extra grunt is complemented by a series of exterior and interior upgrades, all of which combine to create a tuning kit that establishes a more flamboyant personality out of Mercedes-AMG’s resident mastodon. The RS 850 kit may not be the first program for the AMG G 63 to dip into this kind of tuning upgrade, but rest assured, this upgrade brings a lot more to the table than what we’ve seen in the past. Consider this program, then, a top-of-the-line choice for owners of the AMG G 63. Whatever you may want to do to your premium, off-roading ride, there’s a good chance that Poseidon has the upgrade that’ll leave a smile on your face.

2017 Mercedes-AMG G 65 Brabus 900PS
On one hand, a go-anywhere, do-everything car like the Mercedes-AMG G65 is already fine on its own. There’s not a lot this hulking machine can’t do. It’s fast, powerful, luxurious, and has all the utility chops to literally go places others can only dream about going. On the other hand, there is something appealing about having a car like the AMG G65 and still have options to do something with it. Maybe slap on an aerodynamic kit? Perhaps an engine tune? The possibilities are all there, and these possibilities are being brought to life – yet again – by Brabus.
I don’t suppose it deserves another mention as being one of the best Mercedes-AMG tuners in the business, and yet, here we are again. Brabus’ new program for the Mercedes-AMG G65 V12 touched down at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show and as you might expect, it’s dripping in modifications. It features a wide-body aerodynamic body kit, a fancy-schmancy interior dress-up, a new set of wheels, and a massive engine upgrade that, at least according to Brabus, makes this vehicle “the world’s most powerful twelve-cylinder off-road vehicle.” At some point, all of Brabus’ claims become irrelevant because we already start to expect greatness out of its programs without the tuner telling us all about it. That’s what it feels like looking at the AMG G65 Brabus 900PS. The tuner may as well be right in saying that no other 12-cylinder off-roader is as powerful as this beast, but we expected that already to begin with. That’s clout that only years of excellence can justify.

2017 Mercedes-AMG G 63 and Mercedes-AMG G 65 Exclusive Editions
The next-generation Mercedes G-Class is on its way for 2018. It’s been a long time coming for the company’s resident off-roader, but after years of updates upon updates, the time has finally come for an all-new G-Class to break cover. But before that happens, the German automaker is going to milk the current G-Class for all of its worth. That includes heading to the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show with “Exclusive Editions” for both the Mercedes-AMG G 63 and the Mercedes-AMG G 65.
Now I know that these special editions can wear thin on people, especially if they’re done too often or for the wrong reasons. But I don’t think that’s the case here. I think that of all Mercedes-AMG models in the performance brand’s lineup today, these two titans deserve to have a fitting send-off before the next-gen models arrive in 2018. That’s a big reason why I’m actually looking forward to the AMG G 63 Exclusive Edition and the AMG G 65 Exclusive Editions. And for what they’re worth, both literally and figuratively, so should you. The G-Class, after all, has been a stalwart of Mercedes’ lineup for almost 40 years and while it has received countless updates in the past, it’s rarely been given a next-generation treatment. Now that it’s on the precipice of getting one – arguably just the third time in its history – these Exclusive Editions of the AMG G 63 and G 65 are proper ways of giving the current G-Class the tributes it deserves.
