2022 Mercedes-Maybach Edition 100
It was September, 1921 when Maybach Motorenbau GmbH presented its first mass-produced car at the motor show in Berlin. The model was named W3 and it was the first German production car with four-wheel brakes, an epicyclic gear system, and an interior with the finest materials.
To commemorate the event, Maybach launched the special "Edition 100". It will be based on both the S-Class and the GLS, each limited to 100 units. In Europe, orders will begin in the fourth quarter of 2021 and sales at the beginning of 2022. The U.S. market will only get the sedan version with sales to begin in the first half of 2022.

The Mercedes G-Wagon is one of Mercedes’ signature vehicles. None of the other German premium carmakers have an analog to it. For decades the Mercedes G-Wagon has been every rich person’s favorite way of giving the middle finger to all “plebians mopping around in a Corolla or an Elantra”. The boxy SUV has been interpreted by many tuners, such as BRABUS, MANSORY, and others, giving it an aggressive design, and making it appealing to people like celebrities and drug dealers.
However, the boxy SUV has much humbler beginnings, as it was originally developed as a military vehicle. It seems Mercedes remembered that and decided to give us a G-Wagon that doesn’t mind getting dirty.

Whenever Mercedes-Benz sets its mind of offering special-editions cars, you can bet they offer the best the carmaker can provide. The same goes for Mercedes-Maybach, but on a whole different level that touches on the stratospheric layers of car luxury. Enter the USA-exclusive Mercedes-Maybach S 650 Night Edition that’s based on the soon-to-be-replaced W222 S-Class.
2019 Mercedes-Benz X-Class Element Edition
The 2020 Mercedes X-Class gets lost in the shadows among the coolest new Mercedes models to hit the market in recent years. That should change, at least for the time being, with the introduction of the first-ever X-Class to wear the “special edition” label: the X-Class Element Edition. Based on the Progressive trim of the X-Class, the Element Edition benefits from a smattering of exterior and interior touches, as any special edition model would. Options and packages are also included as standard equipment on the special edition pickup. There are no engine upgrades, though, so if you’re looking for a little power bump from the pickup’s four-cylinder diesel unit, you’re not getting any. Unfortunately, you’re also not getting the actual special edition X-Class if you live in the U.S. market.
2019 Mercedes EQC 1886 Edition
Mercedes-Benz attended the 2019 New York International Auto Show with a special edition electric SUV that pays tribute to its past and looks ahead to its future, all at the same time. It’s called the Mercedes-Benz EQC 1886 Edition, and as you might imagine, the “1886” in its name is a direct nod to the year Karl Benz applied for a patent for a “vehicle powered by a gas engine.” The EQC 1886 Edition is, in many ways, unique in its celebration of the German automaker’s history and its plans for a new electric-powered era of models. Like most special edition models, the EQC 1886 Edition benefits from a bevy of aesthetic upgrades in its exterior and interior. There’s no mention of any power and performance upgrades, though it’s hard to expect one from a vehicle whose identity is less about actual performance and more about showcasing Mercedes’ electrified future. Mercedes has yet to reveal a price tag for the special edition EQC, but it will be available sometime in 2020.

2020 Mercedes-Benz SL Grand Edition
The Mercedes-Benz SL Grand Edition is a special-edition version of the company’s familiar and fairly old SL roadster. Based on the sixth-generation SL, upgraded most recently for the 2017 model year, the Grand Edition is probably the last hurrah for the dated roadster, which should be replaced by 2021. Described as an "especially exclusive" Mercedes-Benz, the Grand Edition is indeed a more bespoke version of the SL, but upgrades are limited to special color and trim on the outside and a new leather upholstery inside the cabin. The Grand Edition also rides on a sportier suspension, but it features the same engines as the standard model. Let’s find out more about it in the review below.

2020 Mercedes SLC Final Edition
Just as Mercedes is adept at rolling out First Edition models, it can do the same with Final Edition models. It just so happens that the latter is more fitting for the times, particularly with the SLC-Class, Merc’s largely forgotten retractable hardtop convertible. In case you didn’t know, Mercedes is closing the book on the SLC’s three-generation life, and to commemorate the occasion, the Germans are rolling out the 2020 Mercedes SLC Final Edition. Mercedes is offering the special edition SLC on the SLC300 and AMG SLC43 trims of the roadster. There’s no specific number on how many models Mercedes plans to build, only that the special edition will be available in the U.S. in 2020.

2019 Mercedes-AMG S65 Final Edition
As Mercedes prepares to launch the next-generation S-Class, the German automaker and its performance division, AMG, are bidding adieu to the current-generation model with a
bound special-edition model that’s called the AMG S 65 Final Edition. Limited the just 130 units, the AMG S 65 Final Edition is a fitting swan song for Mercedes-AMG’s resident luxobarge. The exclusive touches are mostly of the cosmetic variety, but there are a lot of them, especially in the exterior and interior of the sedan. More importantly, the AMG S 65 Final Edition represents the last time we see a V-12 engine in the S-Class family. More than the exclusive touches, the end of the V-12 era in the S-Class is reason enough for this model to turn into a collectible down the road. Mercedes-AMG has not indicated a price for the AMG S 65 Final Edition, but with the “standard” AMG S 65 starting at around $232,000, expect to pay a lot more for the opportunity to go home with one of the 130 AMG S 65 Final Edition models.
Lewis Hamilton Wants His Own Special Edition AMG ONE
Lewis Hamilton is no stranger to getting what he wants from Mercedes-AMG. Now, the five-time Formula One world champion wants to create a special edition version of the Mercedes-AMG ONE, the all-conquering hypercar formerly known as the Project One. Speaking to Top Gear, Hamilton confirmed his desire to build a custom version of the One hypercar to Mercedes-AMG. Whether he gets his wish remains to be seen, but AMG is apparently considering it. If it happens, Hamilton would be heavily involved in the development of the car that will use his “LH” initials. He’s not just settling for fancy badges and new colors, either. Hamilton wants wholesale changes to the body, engine, and exhaust system of the ONE, thereby making it a true “special edition” in every sense of the phrase.
A Cheaper Mercedes GT Coupe Is Here
Mercedes has unveiled the GT 43, an entry-level model that will sit below the GT 53, GT 63, and GT 63 S that were unveiled earlier this year. The GT 43 has the same engine as the GT 53, albeit with lower power. How much lower, you ask? Well, it’s still good enough to sweep you off of your feet.
2019 Mercedes A-Class Sedan Edition 1
With the launch of the new Mercedes A-Class, Mercedes-Benz is once again adding some special edition spice to the proceedings with the release of the A-Class Sedan Edition 1. The special edition version of the A-Class packs a lot of exclusive equipment in its tight body, all coming as standard to the model. It will also be compatible with all engines being offered for the A-Class as well. Mercedes only plans to sell the A-Class Sedan Edition 1 for around a year.
Mercedes C-Class Gets New Nightfall Editions
The C-Class is Merc’s best-selling vehicle, offering luxurious compact motoring since 1993. The latest W205 generation was launched in 2014 at the Detroit Motor Show, and now, Merc is sprucing it up at the end of its production cycle with a unique variant dubbed the Nightfall Edition, bringing a new dark-colored exterior treatment and standard AMG interior components, plus a standard sport suspension set-up.

The Mercedes V-Class Night Edition is the Worst Thing to Come Out of Mercedes-AMG in a Long Time
I love the goodness that is AMG as much as the next man. There’s no denying that AMG makes some of the finest engines and most aggressive looking vehicles you can buy today. Be that as it may, what Mercedes-AMG just did to the V-Class is worthy of crucifixion or, at the very least, burning someone at the stake. I introduce you to the V-Class Night Edition – a traditional Mercedes Minivan with lots of hope and absolutely NO go. Seriously, Mercedes gave this thing everything AMG from branded front fascias to wheels to goodness on the inside too.
2019 Mercedes-AMG GT S Roadster
Unveiled in 2014 as a spiritual successor for the SLS AMG and a competitor for the Porsche 911, the Mercedes-AMG GT has already spawned a number of different versions and even received a facelift in 2017. Come 2018, and the AMG GT family expanded yet again with the addition of the AMG GT S Roadster. The third roadster in the lineup, the GT S Roadster is also the ninth member of the two-door GT family, joining four coupes and two race-spec models. With Mercedes-Benz having also launched three four-door model in 2018, the AMG GT family now includes no fewer than 12 cars!
Much like in the coupe range, the AMG GT S Roadster slots above the AMG GT and below the GT C Roadster. The latter is very similar to the GT R coupe, but with a slightly less powerful engine. Much like the hard-top model, the GT S Roadster has a sportier drivetrain and also benefits from the facelift that added 15 horsepower and ten pound-feet of torque to the GT S coupe in 2017. Granted, the AMG-GT S Roadster is far from new, but it enables Mercedes-Benz to provide its customers with a choice of three open-top two-seaters.

2019 Mercedes AMG GT 4-Door - Edition 1
The AMG GT 4-Door Coupe may be little more than a slightly revised Mercedes CLS with some extra power, but it’s been received pretty well across the board and is considered a stand-alone AMG model. With all of the hype surrounding the car and AMG fanboys begging Mercedes to take their money, it should come as no surprise that AMG is set to offer the 4-Door in Edition 1 trim. It’s said to offer extra individualization and is based on the GT 63 S 4Matic+ — the range topper of the 4-Door lineup. It includes a number of aerodynamic enhancements to go with some exterior extras and some finer interior appointments. So, let’s find out what the Edition 1 is all about.
2017 Mercedes-AMG G 65 Final Edition
With almost 40 years of history now in the books, it’s time for the Merc G-Wagen to get a substantial update. But before that happens (the new-gen is expected to show at the Detroit Motor Show next year), the German automaker is releasing a new, glossier, limited production run dubbed the G 65 Final Edition. Bearing the same AMG-branded bones as the standard G 65, the Final Edition adds a host of aesthetic enhancements to help it stand out from the crowd. Outside, you’ll find large wheels, specialized trim pieces, and black and bronze coloring, while the interior comes decked out in nappa leather, carbon fiber, and unique badging, all set in the traditional top-shelf G-Wagen luxury.
Merc says over a third of its G-Class vehicle sales are the AMG variants, so it makes total sense to release this spruced-up special edition before we wave goodbye. With only 65 units slated for production, Mercedes is banking on exclusivity to move this thing, because they certainly won’t come cheap. Pricing starts at a whopping 310,233 Euros, which is around $368,000 at current exchange rates (10/19/2017). And in case you’re keeping track, that’s about $150,000 more than the standard AMG G 65. 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLS Grand Edition
Mercedes-Benz has dropped a new special edition for the 2018 GLS, its three-row SUV. It’s called the Grand Edition, and it brings a swanky new leather treatment to the interior and the choice between two sets of 20-inch alloy wheels. The Grand Edition can be had on the GLS 350d, 400, and 500, but is only offered in Europe. Sorry, Cowboy. Though Joe America can’t have this beast parked in his driveway, more of his cattle will be found inside.
As mentioned, the interior’s new extended leather treatment involves a leather-covered dashboard with real, open-pore wood accents and seats with quilted patterns and a porcelain and espresso color combination only found in the Grand Edition. Outside, those getting the Grand Edition can choose to get the Exterior Package, which includes a slightly more aggressive lower front fascia and AMG-style 20-inch wheels. All Grand Editions come with badges on the front fenders denoting their grandeur.

2017 Mercedes-AMG G 63 and Mercedes-AMG G 65 Exclusive Editions
The next-generation Mercedes G-Class is on its way for 2018. It’s been a long time coming for the company’s resident off-roader, but after years of updates upon updates, the time has finally come for an all-new G-Class to break cover. But before that happens, the German automaker is going to milk the current G-Class for all of its worth. That includes heading to the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show with “Exclusive Editions” for both the Mercedes-AMG G 63 and the Mercedes-AMG G 65.
Now I know that these special editions can wear thin on people, especially if they’re done too often or for the wrong reasons. But I don’t think that’s the case here. I think that of all Mercedes-AMG models in the performance brand’s lineup today, these two titans deserve to have a fitting send-off before the next-gen models arrive in 2018. That’s a big reason why I’m actually looking forward to the AMG G 63 Exclusive Edition and the AMG G 65 Exclusive Editions. And for what they’re worth, both literally and figuratively, so should you. The G-Class, after all, has been a stalwart of Mercedes’ lineup for almost 40 years and while it has received countless updates in the past, it’s rarely been given a next-generation treatment. Now that it’s on the precipice of getting one – arguably just the third time in its history – these Exclusive Editions of the AMG G 63 and G 65 are proper ways of giving the current G-Class the tributes it deserves.
