The Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross has long been one of the most underrated compact crossovers in the market. It’s not going to win any "best-of" awards anytime soon, but the crossover can hold its own, as long as people notice it. Perhaps the arrival of the new Eclipse Cross will help the crossover earn more credibility than it has received.
This latest batch of spy photos of the model heavily wrapped in camouflage gives us an idea of what to expect visually from the Eclipse Cross. But that’s the extent of it, at least for now. More details should arrive as we get closer to the updated Eclipse Cross’ launch sometime at the end of the year. The new Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross will be badged as a 2021 model.
2020 BMW X5 M
The 2020 BMW X5 M is the range-topping version of the fourth-generation X5 SUV. Unveiled in 2019, it’s the most powerful and advanced version of the midsize hauler. Sportier than ever design-wise and fitted with BMW latest tech, including semi-autonomous drive, the 2020 X5 M hides a twin-turbo, 4.4-liter V-8 under the hood. Rated at 600 horsepower, it’s a bit more potent than the old engine. But BMW also offers a 617-horsepower model under the Competition badge. 2021 Chrysler Pacifica
Chrysler is still taking care of the Pacifica minivan and the best way to show that affection is by flaunting a refreshed version at the Chicago Motor Show. New for 2021 is the Pinnacle trim, which comes to join the likes of Touring, Touring L, and Limited.
Visually, the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica nip-and-tuck revolves around the front end. Here, the minivan flaunts a redesigned grille, new headlights, and tweaked bumper. In the back, the only change sees the taillights spanning to the whole width of the car, which can now ride on 17- to 20-inch wheels.
On the mechanical front, the big news is the addition of an AWD setup - by the way, it’s the first such system to make its way into a Chrysler-badged minivan since 2004. The setup, which was tested over more than one million miles, mixes three sub-systems.
A power transfer unit splits torque coming through the nine-speed automatic gearbox and routes it to the rear drive module. The latter houses a wet clutch that fluctuates torque to the wheels and a one-speed transfer case. The power transfer unit and the rear drive module are connected by a three-piece drive shaft. A brake-lock differential is also part of the AWD setup, which can send torque exclusively to the rear wheels or to those wheels with the most traction.
On the road composure front, the Pacifica receives a rear sway bar and extra suspension tuning which sees the ride height go up by 0.78 inches.
Inside the cabin, passengers get to fiddle with the new Uconnect 5 multimedia setup which utilizes a 10.1-inch touchscreen (that’s 20 percent larger than the previous-generation). The new setup is compatible with Amazon Alexa, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Plus, it can host up to six driver profiles, including a valet mode. What’s more, you can connect two phones simultaneously via Bluetooth.
Powertrain-wise, the Pacifica can be had with either a 3.6-liter V-6 good for 287 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque or in plug-in-hybrid guise, where the V-6 shares the chores with an e-motor for a total system output of 260 horsepower.

Nissan’s Hoping That a New Engine Will Hold the Frontier Over Until the Next-Gen Model Arrives in 2021
The 2020 Nissan Frontier made its debut at the Chicago Auto Show, and, well, it still looks the same. The front design is the same, and so is the rear. The body is the same, too. There’s not much going on in the wheels section, either. Instead, Nissan is offering the 2020 Frontier with a new engine that delivers more power than its previous iteration. A handful of new changes are also included, but, for the most part, the 2020 Frontier is the same pickup as it was before. The big change is set to arrive in 2021 when the all-new Frontier makes its debut.
The Third Genesis SUV Will Be All-Electric
Most carmakers are still afraid of going full-electric on their lineups. And for good reason: EVs still have some work to do to gain credibility and until that happens, brands will play it safe in harnessing the power of electricity. That is, they’ll use it in today’s hottest car body shape: the crossover/SUV.
The rationale behind this move is simple. People are psyched on owning and driving SUVs, so the chance of picking an all-electric high-riding vehicle are higher than buying a BEV sedan or sports car. Genesis is one of the carmakers that seem to have understood that very well, because its third SUV is set to pack an all-electric powertrain.
2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer
Chevrolet has revived an age-old moniker and added to its already crowded lineup. The Trailblazer has returned into the fold after a 12-year hiatus to slot itself between the little Trax and the larger Equinox.
The Trailblazer will be the seventh SUV that Chevy has to offer to the U.S. market. It will sit alongside the Trax, Equinox, Blazer, Traverse, Tahoe, and Suburban. The six existing SUVs cover all the bases that a customer looks for when buying a vehicle; so, what was the point of launching the Trailblazer? It was touted to replace the Trax in the lineup, but the latter did quite well in 2019.
2021 Fiat Mobi Pickup
The 2021 Fiat Mobi Pickup is an upcoming utility vehicle based on the Mobi, a city car that the Italian firm produces exclusively for the South American market. Just like the Mobi, this small pickup truck will be produced in Brasil and sold in South America only. Heavily related to the Fiat Fiorino, it will replace the Strada, a small pickup related to the Fiat Palio. The Strada is sold in Mexico as the Ram 700. The Mobi Pickup, which might have a different name when it arrives, will be Fiat’s second truck in showrooms after the Toro. Spotted testing in early 2020, the Mobi Pickup will probably break cover later in 2020, most likely at the Sao Paulo Motor Show in November.
Toyota Teases New Tacoma Trims for The 2020 Chicago Auto Show
The Chicago Auto Show is all set to kick off on February 6, and Toyota has already created some buzz about it. The Japanese automaker teased an image of a front passenger-side lower fascia that appears to be the Tacoma’s. Toyota coupled this pic with a statement that read, “sporty and outdoorsy, with a touch of nocturnal mischief.”
At the 2019 Chicago Auto Show, Toyota unveiled the 2020 Tacoma. In all likelihood, Toyota will use this year’s show to focus primarily on off-road stuff. All this indicates a new off-road trim for the Tacoma. Wait, just one off-road trim, or many more?

Production of “New” DMC-12s was supposed to start way back in 2017 but due to a delay in the Low Volume Manufacturers Act – an act that allows companies to build up to 325 examples of cars at least 25 years old – all of that has had to go on hold. Now, the act has finally be pushed through and the new DeLorean DMC-12 can finally go into production.
