• 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X by Vilner and OverDrive

Back in the 90’s, Mitsubishi’s Lancer Evolution high-performance program was one of the most popular things to come out of Japan. Those days sure were fun for Mitsubishi.

Unfortunately, the Evolution program doesn’t hold the same cache as it used to, but nevertheless, it still carries a lot of weight as far as performance cars are concerned.

Bulgarian tuning firm, Vilner, is determined to bring the Lancer EVO X back to prominence with interior upgrades and even brought in one of its contemporaries, Overdrive, to take care of the exterior and performance improvements.

Inside the Lancer EVO X, Vilner decked it out with a black leather upholstery to go along with white colored accents and stitching. The roof lining has been outfitted with black Alcantara while the steering wheel and gear lever were treated with carbon trim. Rounding out Vilner’s work is a pair of OMP front bucket seats with a piano black decorative trim. Outside, Vilner also put in new LED lights on the car’s headlamps and taillights, replacing the standard lights the car comes in.

Meanwhile, the Lancer EVO X’s exterior was treated with carbon elements to go along with a Greddy exhaust system, an adjustable K-sport suspension, and a set of 18” Weds Sports alloy wheels. Under the hood, Overdrive also gave the car a power kit that spikes the output of the car’s 2.0-liter turbocharged engine all the way up to 400 horsepower.

Kirby’s first exposure into the world of automobiles happened when he caught Knight Rider on television as a five-year old boy. David Hasselhoff didn’t leave much of an impression on him (that happened later on in Baywatch), but KITT certainly did. To this day, Kirby remains convinced that he will one day own a car with the same ‘spirit’ as the original KITT (not the 2008 monstrosity). He doesn't know when that will be, but until then, he’s committed to expressing his love for KITT, and all cars for that matter, here at TopSpeed.  Read full bio

400 horsepower is quite already impressive but the fact that it is a race car. I don’t think that it would only be enough to beat its competitor. Moreover, I must say that it is looking cool with its body paint.

The fact that it is on a turbo charged engine, I would surely be impressed on it, and even though it doesn’t have an awesome exterior detailing, it was still looking very attractive on me.

The engine and horsepower of this one had is I think quite good enough for it, and I must also say that with its decent and hygienic body paint, I can say that it is totally very striking on that.

I’m so impressed on how they perfectly combined the sporty and decent appearance of this Lancer Evo even the hygienic looks of it, and I think the engine that it had is only quite good enough for it.

If I could remember clearly the Evo X was the car used by Walker in the Fast and the Furious. I just wonder if this car performs the same in real life. However, the design is great!

Lancer Evo is basically the Bulgarian tuning firm. It takes a lot of concerned performance and to take care the exterior looks of it.

Nice, they really did a good job paying respect to the EVO X. That car is really one of a kind, so a superb tuning work is what is need to make it look even cooler.

Don’t get me wrong I love both cars and the GXP is certainly cool but the EVO X is something to be respected.

The only thing I find at all "ridiculous" is how a little 2.0l 4-banger EVO destroys a GM 6.2l V8 in everything but straight line acceleration.
