Why The New Morgan Super 3 Is The Epitome Of Old-School Motoring
The 2022 Morgan Super 3 is the British carmaker’s latest model. It’s a successor to the even more old-school, Morgan 3-wheeler, which in turn harkens back to the 1932 Morgan F Series 3-wheeler. While the Morgan 3-wheeler is rightfully described (by Morgan) as a rebellion against sanitized, modern motoring, the Super 3 scores a degree of modernism, lacking in its forbearers. That said, there are still plenty of aspects about the Super 3 that make it the epitome of old-school motoring, and here’s what they are.
2022 Morgan Super 3
Morgan is one of the very few carmakers that still does things old-school. That said, even Morgan has realized it has to move with the times. With this in mind, how do you make a contemporary vehicle while still adhering to tradition? Somehow, the old British automotive company has managed to pull it off, and this endeavor resulted in the 2022 Morgan Super 3.
2022 Morgan Plus 8 GTR
Morgan announced its intention to build the Plus 8 GTR back in February when we got a first glimpse of the supercar thanks to a series of sketches. Now, the company announced that the first unit - out of the nine planned to be built - has finally been completed. The rest of the eight cars are all under development and they will be completed in the first quarter of 2022.
The Morgan Plus 8 GTR Special Edition Is Going To Be Epic
Two years after discontinuing the Plus 8, Morgan is bringing the retro-styled sports car back through a limited edition set called the Plus 8 GTR. The special edition model is the first in a line of special projects that Morgan plans to release this year. Only nine units of the Plus 8 GTR will be built with production scheduled to begin this summer. Pricing for the model and a delivery timetable will be announced at a later date.
2021 Morgan 3 Wheeler P101
The 2021 Morgan 3 Wheeler P101 is a limited-edition version of the company’s three-wheeled sports car. Limited to only 33 units, the P101 celebrates the end of production of the 3 Wheeler, which Morgan has been offering since 2011. Named after the internal codename given to the project that revived the 3 Wheeler almost 10 years ago, the 2021 3 Wheeler P101 comes with a range of exclusive features that mostly address the car’s exterior. What makes it stand out and how much does it cost? Find out in our review below.
2020 Morgan 3 Wheeler LE60
The 2020 Morgan 3 Wheeler LE60 is a special-edition version of Morgan’s three-wheeled sports car. Created alongside similar versions of the Plus Six, the LE60 3 Wheeler celebrates 60 years of Morgan’s partnership with its official retailer in the Netherlands, Louwman Exclusive.
The entire LE60 run includes five cars, but only one of them is a 3 Wheeler. In short, this car is unique and Morgan won’t build another one like it. The LE60 package is essentially just a design bundle. The 3 Wheeler features a custom livery with yellow accents and a couple of bespoke features inside the cabin. The drivetrain remains unchanged. Let’s find out more about below.
This Review Of the 2020 Morgan Plus Four Is Straight Up Carfection
If Top Gear and The Grand Tour are car shows you go to for the giggles, Carfection is a bit more to the point when it comes to car reviews. It’s fun to follow, but you also get valuable insights on the model reviews.
For this week’s episode Henry Catchpole jumped inside the new Morgan Plus Four, almost a year after he reviewed the Plus Six. And the conclusion might surprise you.
2020 Morgan LE60 Plus Six
The 2020 Morgan LE60 Plus Six is a limited-edition version of the company’s six-cylinder roadster. Designed to celebrate the company’s partnership with its Dutch retailer Louwman Exclusive, the LE60 is based on the brand-new Plus Six that replaced the Plus 8 in 2019. The LE60 is limited to only four units, two finished in Ice Blue and two painted in Scintila Silver, each also fitted with special appointments. All four are being shipped to Louwman Exclusive. The LE60 lineup also includes a 3 Wheeler model.
Morgan Goes Bespoke with Limited Edition Plus Six and 3 Wheeler
Morgan may still build cars that look like they were designed in the 1930s, but they’re actually as modern as they get under the shell. The British company just redesigned the Plus Six and Plus Four on brand-new aluminum platforms and it’s now showcasing its ability to deliver bespoke cars with a pair of limited-edition models based on the Plus Six and 3 Wheeler. They’re called LE60 and celebrate 60 years of Morgan’s partnership with Dutch dealership Louwman Exclusive.
2020 Morgan Plus Four
The 2020 Morgan Plus Four is a neo-retro roadster produced by British coachbuilder Morgan. The 2020 Plus Four replaces the old Plus 4, a roadster that Morgan produced without any updates from 2005 to 2020. While the nameplate carries over unchanged, the word "Four" replaces the numeral "4" for better differentiation between the two cars. The 2020 Plus Four is underpinned by the CX-Generation, bonded aluminum platform that Morgan debuted in the 2019 Plus Six. Although it looks virtually the same on the outside, the 2020 Plus Four features a more modern interior, while the old naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine was replaced with a turbo-four from BMW.
2020 Morgan Plus 4 70th Anniversary Edition
After more than 70 years of serving as the skeleton of Morgan models, the British automaker’s long-running steel chassis finally has an expiration date. But before that day comes, Morgan is giving the chassis a proper send-off by launching the Plus 4 70th Edition.
Yes, Morgan is celebrating the life and times of its steel chassis by taking the special edition route. The move isn’t uncommon these days among automakers — Bentley just announced the Mulsanne 6.75 Edition to celebrate the Mulsanne’s impending retirement — but Morgan’s decision to pay tribute to its decades-old steel chassis does have strong emotional ties to it, in part because of how long it was used by the automaker.
The Morgan Plus 4 70th Edition is limited to just 20 units with each unit priced at £60,995 or just a tick under $80,000 based on current exchange rates. Unfortunately for those who are looking to buy one, all 20 units are already accounted for.
2019 Morgan Plus Six
The 2020 Morgan Plus Six is a retro-styled, two-door, two-seat roadster built by Morgan Motor Company. Unveiled at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, the Plus Six replaces the Plus 8, a roadster that Morgan last introduced in 2012. Although it looks a lot like its predecessor, the Plus Six stands out thanks to an optional hard-top, new technology, and for being the company’s first vehicle with a turbocharged engine.
The Plus Six is also Morgan’s first brand-new model in a very long time. While the Aero and the Plus 4 date back to 2001 and 2005, the Plus 8 and 3-Wheeler were redesigned most recently in 2012. This makes the Plus Six the first brand-new Morgan in seven years. If we don’t count the EV3, an electric version of the 3-Wheeler, launched in 2016. What’s this new model all about? Let’s find out in the review below.
