2019 was packed with automotive launches so far, including everything from city cars and EVs to big trucks and supercars. Some are just practical cars that aren't necessarily beautiful or fast, but others may go down in history among some of the most gorgeous vehicles ever built. However, some of the cars launched in recent years are still seen as beautiful in 2019. Some cars simply age well and retain their good looks as years go by.

We still have a few months and a couple of big auto shows until 2019 is over, but we already compiled a list with the most beautiful cars you can buy this year. Some are brand-new, some have been around for a couple of years, but we also included a car that's almost 10 years old. Check out the list below and let me know if you agree in the comments section. Did I miss anything, is there a car that shouldn't be on this list?

Alfa Romeo Giulia

Alfa Romeo might not be the glorious automaker that it was until the 1980s, but the Italians still make some of the most beautiful cars you can buy. The Giulia is by far one of the prettiest compact sedans out there with its Italian flair setting it apart from the competition. Elegant and sporty at the same time, the Giulia will make the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class look dull by comparison. Go with the Quadrifoglio version and you'll have the power and looks to put BMW M and Mercedes-AMG owners to shame on both the road and the track.

Aston Martin DBS Superleggera

If there's one thing you can say about Aston Martin is that despite its financial difficulties throughout history, it has never built an ugly car. Okay okay, the Lagonda wasn't particularly beautiful, but that's just an exception from the rule. Aston Martin is famous for its perfect balance between luxury and style and the DBS Superleggera is one of its finest examples. Introduced as a replacement for the Vanquish, the DBS looks modern yet it's almost as sporty as a race car. Naturally, it's a rather comfortable grand tourer and it's equipped with state-of-the-art tech and a lush interior.

Bugatti Centodieci

2019 Bugatti Centodieci
Bugatti

I never thought I'd call a Bugatti beautiful, but the Centodieci is a really cool design. Granted, it's just a one-off that we probably won't get to see on public roads, but it proves that the Chiron doesn't have to look like a potato on wheels. This bespoke creation is the company's tribute to the EB110, a supercar that it launched in the 1990s, and that's exactly what makes the Centodieci cool. While it retains some of the Chiron's good-looking styling cues, it adds features inspired by the EB110, including a wedge-shape design specific to the early 1990s. The beautiful, vintage-style design is backed by a beefed-up version of the company's massive W-16 engine.

Infiniti Q60

While the first-generation Q60 was far from impressive, the second-gen coupe is stunning enough to deserve a place on this list. Combining Infiniti's recent design language with the muscular characteristics of a coupe, the Q60 shows that Japanese companies can build muscle cars as well. Decidedly aggressive no matter the trim, the Q60 has what it takes to give the German coupes a run for their money. The good news is that the range-topping version hits the ground with 400 horsepower, so the Q60 is a solid rival for popular cars like the BMW M4 and Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe.

Jaguar XJ

Aston Martin isn't the only British automaker that makes good-looking cars. Modern Jaguars are equally pretty, starting with the XJ. Sure, the current-generation XJ is on its way out of the market, but the fact that an almost 10-year-old design made this list speaks volumes about its looks. The angry front fascia, the vertical taillights that "crawl" toward the rear window, and the aero package of the supercharged V-8 model are only a few of the features that set this sedan apart. The fact that it was designed by Ian Callum must have something to do with it as well, as the British designer also penned masterpieces like the Aston Martin DB7, DB9, and Vanquish, the Jaguar F-Type, and the Nissan R390. The XJ was offered with a variety of gasoline and diesel engines, but the supercharged V-8 in the range-topping model is by far the most impressive.

Jaguar XJ specifications

supercharged, 5.0-liter V-8

Power:

470 horsepower

Torque:

424 pound-feet

Lexus LC

Technically a replacement for the SC, the Lexus LC is a spiritual successor to the iconic LFA. It's not as powerful as the company's V-10 coupe, but it looks equally stunning and it's pretty aggressive for a grand tourer. Based on the LF-LC concept, the LC has what it takes to compete with vehicles from Aston Martin and even Ferrari design-wise. The sporty and elegant exterior is matched by a welcoming interior draped in high-quality materials. Unlike the competition, it's available with a naturally aspirated V-8. But Lexus also offers a hybrid V-6 for those concerned about emissions.

5.0-liter V-8

Power:

471 horsepower

Torque:

398 pound-feet

0-60 mph:

Mazda MX-5 Miata

I've never considered the Miata to be a beautiful car. I always saw it as a purposeful vehicle and accepted its quirky looks knowing that it's a fun little sports car. But Mazda finally went beyond that with the fourth-generation model and designed an MX-5 that's not only light and fast, but pretty too. The current-generation roadster is already four years old as of 2019, but it can hold its own and it seems that it will age nicely. The various customization options, the varied color palette, and the fact that you can also order it as a targa in RD trim enhance its appeal.

Mazda MX-5 Miata specifications

2.0-liter four-cylinder

181 horsepower

151 pound-feet

Porsche 911

The Porsche 911 has been regarded as one of the most beautiful cars in production since the early days and that hasn't changed over the last 50 years. Sure, the 996-generation received some heat for its headlamps, but Porsche got over the weirdness and reintroduced the round lights. In 2019, the 992-generation 911 looks hotter than ever and its rear end is a cool tribute to the 1980s 911 and its taillights stretching across the entire width of the rear fascia. The current 911 doesn't boast major changes, but the little details move it into the future, keep it fresh, and place it among the most beautiful sports cars you can buy.

twin-turbo flat-six

Volkswagen Arteon

Volkswagen's corporate look has become a bit dull recently, although I must admit that the angular lines make almost every new model in the lineup look pretty good. The Arteon follows the same route, but it stands out as the more intriguing and beautiful car wearing the iconic "VW" letters. The coupe-style roof, the way the headlamps flow into the grille, and the clean rear fascia combine in a brilliant way to give us a crisp-looking Volkswagen. While the current Passat is somewhat boring, the Arteon feels lively, sporty, and quite fancy. And it's powerful too, especially if you choose the range-topping 2.0 TSI trim.

Volkswagen Arteon specifications

Engine:

turbocharged, 2.0-liter four-cylinder

268 horsepower

258 pound-feet
