Mountune to Offer 80-Horsepower Upgrade for Ford Fiesta ST
The arrival of the bonkers Focus RS gave rise to rumors that Ford is also considering an RS-badged version of the Fiesta. Unfortunately, such a scenario was dismissed by FoMoCo in January 2016, leaving Fiesta enthusiasts to look at tuning shops for more power. Until now, Ford’s official tuning partner, Mountune, offered a 23-horsepower and 26 pound-foot upgrade in the U.S., but these figures will get significantly better with a new performance package. Specifically, Mountune wants to give the Fiesta ST’s turbocharged four-cylinder an extra 80 horsepower at the flywheel.
That’s the word from Mountune’s U.S. president Ken Anderson, who told Autoblog that a new upgrade will take the Fiesta ST up to 280 horsepower. That around 80 horses more than the stock model and 65 more than the maximum output of the Fiesta ST200. As a brief reminder, the ST200 gets an additional 15 horsepower and 22 pound-feet for up to 15 seconds.
The extra 80 horsepower at the flywheel will come from a larger turbocharger, a new ECU tune, and likely a revised exhaust system too. Mountune has yet to reveal details, but Anderson said that full info will be unleashed when the new performance kit goes on sale later this year.
This new package will be one of the many Fiesta upgrades that Mountune offers in the U.S. Ford’s official tuning partner in Europe, Mountune opened shop in California in 2013 and it has since launched numerous performance-enhancing parts for the Focus, Fiesta, and sixth-generation Mustang. More recently, Mountune developed an upgrade for the Focus RS, Ford’s most powerful and only all-wheel-drive hatchback to date.

Formed in 1980 as an automotive engineering company specializing in preparing race-spec engines, Mountune has been updating Focus and Fiesta hatchbacks for European customers for quite a few years now. In 2013, the aftermarket tuning brand announced plans to set up shop in California to provide high-performance and racing parts for Ford vehicles here in the U.S. Two years have passed since then and 2015 Ford Focus ST owners now have access to a performance upgrade specifically developed for the hot-hatch.
While this is great news for owners looking to add more oomph to their Focus STs, Mountune claims that the new kit is not just about increasing performance. According to the company, the parts were designed for maximum reliability as well, which isn’t surprising considering Mountune’s experience in the racing world, where reliability is paramount.
“The 2015 Focus ST MP275 upgrade is the latest addition to Ford Performance’s vast Focus and Fiesta performance catalog that gives enthusiasts the components they need to take their car to the next level,” said Adam Gair, product manager at Ford Performance.
The upgrade is available now for 2015 model-year hatchbacks and joins the 2013/2014 Focus ST power kit in the company’s current offerings. And it’s more affordable than the previous bundle too!

When Ford Europe announced the Ford Focus ST mountune, we couldn’t help but envy the European car buyers. In fact, we went so far to say "Europeans get all of the automotive fun." Well, we can now eat our words, as mountune has just announced that it will expand its Ford partnership to the U.S. later this year.
What makes the transition to the U.S. very easy for mountune is the fact that it is headquartered in Southern California. This means that you don’t have to worry about crazy tariffs and shipping fees by buying components from overseas.
Mountune stated that a new U.S. website will hit the web later in 2013 and that buyers can purchase parts direct from Ford Racing, mountune’s website or any other authorized mountune dealers. We’ll keep tabs on this topic and let you know once the site goes live. We certainly hope that this expansion will bring a Focus ST mountune to U.S.-based Ford dealers.
