Nissan brought the Frontier to the North American market back in 1997 and since then more four million trucks were sold. With the new generation, the company has bigger hopes, as the new Frontier is the first one dedicated for the North American market and it is not shared with the global model.

At the 2022 Chicago Auto Show, Nissan revealed three concept cars that will prove that only the sky is the limit when it comes to the customization possibilities of the Frontier. The first one - Frontier Project 72X - pays tribute to the Datsun 720, and the second one Project Adventure was built to invite American customers to explore the amazing sceneries of the U.S., no matter where they are located.

What makes the 2022 Nissan Frontier Project Adventure by Nissan Design America special?

The Project Adventure concept is built on the 2022 Frontier Crew Cab PRO-4X - a model which we test drive, if you are interested to find out more - and, like the Project 72X, was designed by Nissan Design America.

Nissan started to work on the concept based on the statement: "This is a big country, why don't you take your Frontier somewhere?" The concept features a custom body wrap depicting an atlas of the U.S. - which means, Nissan is inviting you to pick a place and get there. The Frontier Project Adventure is equipped for any adventure you may have in mind.

Being based on the PRO-4X trim, the concept is already more than ready to explore any roads out there, but it adds a few more features that make it even more capable of off-roading. These new features include a 5-inch lift kit, 34-inch mud terrain tires, Yakima® bed rack system and Yakima® LoadWarrior roof basket, sky tent and Bluetooth® bed audio system by KICKER® and a special carbon fiber snorkel designed and crafted by NDA.

"People want to get out of the house, have adventures, and do it in style, so timing of the adventure-ready 2022 Frontier couldn't have been better," said Michael Colleran, senior vice president, Nissan U.S. and Marketing and Sales. "These three new projects show the possibilities with the new Frontier in this important Chicagoland market."
