2019 Nissan Altima
The Altima name goes back to the mid-1980s when it was used on a top-trim line of the Nissan Leopard and the Central American version of the Laurel. It became a stand-alone marque in 1992 when it replaced the Stanza in the U.S. Built in Tennessee starting with the 1993 model year; the Altima became one of the brand’s most successful vehicles in North America. To meet the high demand, Nissan is now building the sedan in two U.S. plants. With annual sales of more than 250,000 units during the past seven years, the fifth-generation is by far the most successful version of the Altima. But the existing sedan is being phased for the 2019 model year, replaced with a new model that broke cover at the 2018 New York Auto Show.
Redesigned from the ground up, the sixth-generation Altima employs a new design language based on the Vmotion 2.0 concept car from 2017. The redesign also introduced a new interior with more premium features, new technology, and, for the first time in this segment, semi-autonomous drive. Things get even better under the hood, where the Altima gained not only a revised version of the 2.5-liter four-cylinder but also a brand-new, turbocharged four-banger. The latter replaces the old 3.5-liter V-6. Surprisingly enough, the new turbo-four is the variable compression ratio unit that Nissan debuted under the Infiniti brand. Overall, the sixth-generation Altima is the most advanced sedan in this market, but we will find out more about that in the review below.

Nissan Teases the Next-Gen Altima Before it Debuts at the New York Auto Show
The Nissan Altima is going to make its debut at the 2018 New York Auto Show. We already know that much after Nissan released a teaser video a month ago. The Japanese automaker isn’t just stopping there, though. It also unveiled a sketch of the new model, complete with exaggerated design cues that suggest that the Altima will receive its share of stylistic updates.
2017 Nissan Rogue Trail Warrior Project
Introduced in 2013 and revised for the 2017 model year, the second-generation Rogue has evolved into one of Nissan’s best-selling vehicles in the United States. As a result, the SUV is getting a lot of attention from the brand, including a few special-edition models like the Midnight Edition. For the 2017 New York Auto Show, the Japanese firm transformed the Rogue into a snow bank and sand dune fighter. This go-anywhere Rogue is called the Trail Warrior Project and uses tracks instead of wheels.
As cool as it may sound, this isn’t the first Rogue on tracks. In early 2016, Nissan unveiled a similar Rogue that was build by Motorsports in Action in Quebec, Canada. Also fitted with tracks, it was demonstrated on snow and created quite a lot of buzz on the Internet. However, it wasn’t as spectacular as the Trail Warrior Project, as it lacked the military look and most of the gear. Before the Rogue, Nissan built the Juke Nismo RSnow, a Juke Nismo on track that was developed and showcased in Europe. So Nissan has a lot of experience with corssovers on tracks and could build a production model. Unfortunately, is appears that the Trail Warrior Project will remain a New York Auto Show exclusive concept only.
"This new Rogue Trail Warrior adds a new dimension to family adventures with its snow/sand tracks, gear basket, winch and camo paint," said Michael Bunce, vice president of product planning at Nissan North America. "If you want to stand out from the crowd during a day on the slopes or the beach, this is the vehicle to take."

2016 - 2017 Nissan Maxima
The eighth-generation Nissan Maxima comes 40 years after the name was launched as a trim level for the 1976 Bluebird. It was first unveiled to the public during a surprise impression during Nissan’s 2015 Super Bowl ad, which was then followed by a couple of pictures to hold us off until it officially debuted at the New York Auto Show. In short, it was a revolutionary design that brought more sports DNA to the car than was had in all the previous generations combined. Outside, the car a very sculpted body profile, a longer and wider footprint, and a very bold front end. The inside, just like the outside, was heavily inspired by Nissan’s Sport Sedan Concept. The center console is crowded but functional, and the two-tone coloration of the interior is more than inviting. The large infotainment screen in the center stack is angled toward the driver, and the overall feel is comparable to that of more expensive full-size sedans on the market.
After a total of 24 years and six redesigns, the Maxima is finally the car it was always meant to be. It’s got the room for hauling the family around and the looks to make just about any man who is stuck driving a sedan happy. On top of the new looks, that revised 3.5-liter V-6 under the hood packs a decent 300 horsepower and 261 pound-feet of torque, which isn’t bad for a car that starts out below $32,500. Of course, it does have some strong competition from models like the Chevy Impala and the Toyota Avalon, so it should come as no surprise that Nissan went the extra mile to bring us something truly magnificent.
The funny thing is, over all the generations, the Maxima has progressively gotten better. If you position a picture of each generation in order from oldest to newest, it shows an evolution similar to that shown in evolutionary charts derived from Darwin’s theory of evolution. 2017 Nissan GT-R
Now that the New York Auto Show has kicked off, we’re excited to announce that we’ve laid eyes on the refreshed 2017 Nissan GT-R. Thanks to a thorough makeover, the GT-R sports a fresh front end, a more refined rear end, and a new look inside as well. While all this is fun to talk about, most of the changes to the exterior are for optimized aerodynamics.
Hiroshi Tamura, Nissan’s Chief Product Specialist for the GT-R, Z-Car, and NISMO, said, “The new GT-R delivers a heart-pounding driving experience at all times, on any road, for whoever sits in the driver’s seat. We have continued to push its performance boundaries to the limit – it’s even more potent than before. That’s right, unlike most refreshed vehicles, Nissan actually managed to squeeze a little more juice out of the GT-R’s 3.8-liter V-6, and that in itself is worth talking about. So, with that said, let’s dive on into the 2017 GT-R and go over all these new developments that promise to make Nissan’s resident and most desired sports car that much more awesome than before.

The Murano is Nissan’s halo vehicle for its range of crossovers and SUVs, and for 2015, Nissan ushered in the third-generation model. On the outside, the new Murano showcases Nissan’s new design language, featuring a larger, more defined grille, sporty headlights, and a sleek but aggressive front fascia. The side profile is muscular and sculpted compared to the outgoing model, featuring flared rear quarters wraparound taillights, and some sport trim inserts. Around back, the Murano got taillight units that mirror the headlights up front, a taller rear fascia with dual exhaust outlets, and a rear hatch that defines the entire look of the new SUV. Borrowing inspiration from the Resonance Concept, the interior has been completely redesigned with a lower sitting instrument panel, an eight-inch color touchscreen and Zero Gravity seats as standard equipment. The same 3.5-liter engine carries over from the previous generation, but the new Murano is said to be 20-percent more efficient thanks to a decrease in weight and the improved Xtronic transmission.
So, with a new look and a premium interior, the new Murano definitely moves away from its unconventional look of the past. The interior is now more spacious, and there is a host of new safety and connective technology features that just screams premium luxury. Of course, that should come as no surprise considering the Murano has some pretty stiff competition from models like the Toyota Highlander and Acura RDX. Nissan introduced a revamped Versa for the 2015 model year, but the word “revamped” is a bit of a stretch given the minor changes that took place for 2015. On the outside, the grille now has a curvature to it, and the air inlet on each corner of the fascia has been opened up a little more. The headlights now have a new shape and design, but are a bit uglier than before, and the same goes for the taillights in the rear. Inside, the instrument cluster now has LED backlights, and the center stack has a slightly refreshed look to it. The steering wheel has also been revised to offer audio and hands-free calling controls. Under the hood, the 2015 Versa carries on with the same, boring 109-horsepower, 1.6-liter four-cylinder.
As you can see, Nissan did very little to the Versa for 2015 but, considering it is the cheapest model in its segment, it still has a lot going for it. Plus, you can add the fact that for a compact, it does offer pretty comfortable seating for five people. The biggest problem Nissan faces is that, despite its starting price of just $11,990, competing models that cost just a little more come better equipped. Of course, the car is aimed at young buyers with a limited budget so the Versa may be able to carry on for a couple more years.
The Versa sedan’s primary competitors include the Ford Fiesta Sedan and the Kia Rio Sedan, both of which are priced a bit higher, but offer up a little more for the taking. If you’re interested to know just how well the Versa competes, check out our full review below.

Nissan is expanding its Pathfinder lineup with a new hybrid version unveiled today at the 2013 New York Auto Show. The new Hybrid model will replace the usual 3.5-liter V-6 engine with a new supercharged 2.5-liter gasoline engine combined with an electric motor. This system provides a fuel economy increased by 24 percent over the standard Pathfinder.
The hybrid version will be offered with the same features we have seen in the standard version, including the new uni-body construction, an aerodynamic exterior and an interior with a wide range of available features, including an optional third row of seats.
The new Nissan Pathfinder Hybrid will be put on sale in late summer 2013 in three trim levels: SV, SL and Platinum. Nissan announced it will be around $3,000 more than Pathfinder 3.5-liter V-6 models, so if you do a little math you will obtain a starting price of about $31,650.

The Nissan Altima has been around since 1992 and has seen four generational changes since its initial debut. After more than a month of teasing, Nisan finally debuted the fifth-generation Nissan Altima at the 2012 New York Auto Show, and with it came a redesigned exterior, updated interior, and even a little engine updates for one of the Altima’s two engines. Highlights of the exterior include an all-new grille design, a seamless front fascia, more muscular fenders, updated taillight units, projector headlights and dual exhaust system. Nissan really put work into the interior, bring the NissanConnect infotainment system and Advanced Drive-Assist display, a three-spoke steering wheel and some wood trim to go with metallic inserts throughout the cabin. If you’re wondering about the drivetrain department, Nissan carried over the 2.4-liter four-banger and the 3.5-liter V-6, with the four-cylinder getting an increase of seven horsepower.
On another side of things, the 2013 Altima was actually a bit larger than the outgoing model, but despite this, the car was actually 120 pounds lighter than before and was still the lights midsized sedan in its class. Outside of this, there are a couple of sad things to note as well. First, the six-speed manual transmission in the Altima sedan was discontinued due to slow sales – you know, since the few of us who would want the manual have to pay for the fact that the majority doesn’t. Furthermore, the Coupe was also discontinued for the 2014 model year, again likely due to slow sales.
The Altima eventually went on to go through a minor facelift in 2016 that brought about some new exterior styling, but we’ll save that for another discussion. For now, let’s take a look at the 2013 to 2015 Nissan Altima and everything that it brought to the midsized sedan market.

The new 2012 Nissan Versa has shown up at the 2011 New York Auto Show, but it isn’t exactly bringing anything we don’t already know about considering it was unveiled as the Tiida at the Shanghai Auto Show. It is built on a new global "V" (for Versatile) platform which is a bit shorter than the previous platform, but has a longer wheelbase which provides a tad bit more room in the backseat for passengers. Another great thing about the new Versa/Tiida is that it aims to deliver a fuel economy of 33 mpg on the combined cycle.
"Compact cars are getting a lot of attention lately due to rising fuel costs and concerns about the environment. Yet many buyers are disappointed in what they find – vehicles rife with compromise," says Al Castignetti, vice president and general manager, Nissan Division, Nissan North America, Inc. "This new Versa Sedan, a ‘clean sheet’ ground-up design, takes small cars in a whole new direction – proving that you don’t have to sacrifice style for affordability, interior roominess for a smaller footprint, or drivability for high mpg."
The new Versa sedan will go on sale this summer in three trim levels: Versa Sedan 1.6 S (offered in 5MT and CVT versions), Versa Sedan 1.6 SV (CVT only), and Versa Sedan 1.6 SL (CVT only) with a starting price of $10,990.

Whoever believed electric cars couldn’t be fun clearly did not see Nissan’s latest racing concept, the Leaf Nismo RC. Okay, some may call it ridiculous, but the fact that we’re all going electric one day makes this new concept a sight to behold. Basically, Nissan has taken their Leaf model, added full carbon fiber bodywork, a tweaked engine, and some much needed graphics to turn their "green" little hatchback into what they are hoping will be a spunky racer.
The Nissan Leaf Nismo RC concept features full carbon fiber monocoque bodywork with removable front and rear sections, fixed windows, LED headlights and taillights, and a driver-adjustable rear wing. The concept is painted in a special Pearl White paint with blue NISMO/Zero Emission graphics. Compared to the production version model, the RC Concept is 3.9 inches shorter, 0.8 inches longer, 6.7 inches wider, and 13.8 inches lower. The changes made to it accomplished a 40% weight loss.
For the powertrain, Nissan used a high-response 80kW AC synchronous motor that delivers a total of 107 HP and a peak torque of 207 lbs-ft. This motor is charged by a lithium-ion battery composed of 48 compact modules. Unlike the production version Leaf, the RC concept’s electric motor shoots power to the rear wheels. At the first testings, the Nismo RC concept made the 0 to 62 mph sprint in 6.85 seconds and hit a top speed of 93 mph. In racing condition, it has an autonomy of 20 minutes.
The Nissan Leaf Nismo RC concept will be making special demonstration appearances at various motorsports venues in 2011, but first it will be displayed at the 2011 New york Auto Show.

Updated 06/03/2011: Nissan announced that the Leaf Nismo RS will make two demonstration runs at the Le Mans series: the first at 21:15 on Thursday, June 9th and the second at 12:10 on Saturday, June 11th local time. With this occasion the company has revealed new images of the racing car. You will find them in out picture gallery.
It has been less then a year since we saw the new Z33 replace the old 350Z Roadster with the 370Z Roadster, a lighter, shorter and more powerful version of the classic sports car. However as the top goes down the asking price goes up to $36,970 from the fixed roof version’s sub $30,000 starting point.
Just like the 370Z coupe, the rag top is powered by a 3.7 Liter DOHC V6 making 332 HP, up 26 HP from the old VQ35 engine thanks to the new Variable Valve Event and Lift control (VVEL) which manipulates the motor’s breathing too ensure optimum respiration and allows for the car’s redline to be raised by 1000 revs all the way up to 7500 RPM while returning an estimated fuel economy of 18 MPG in the city and 25 MPG on the highway. The engine is mated to either a seven speed automatic with Downshift Rev Matching or a close ratio six speed manual with throttle blipping SynchroRev Match for perfectly matched heel toe downshifting.
The 370Z Roadster is being offered in two different trim levels, made up of the base 370Z Roadster and a Touring edition. The more luxurious version will be available with more upgrade packages consisting of the Sport Package that brings a set of 19 inch RAYS forged wheels wrapped in sticky Bridgestone Potenza tires, Nissan Sport Brakes, the SynchroRev Match feature on the 6 speed manual version and a Viscous Limited Slip Differential to ensure that the driver can get the tail out whenever desired. There will also be a Navigation Package that is based on a Hard Drive Nissan Navigation System as well as a 9.3GB Music Box Hard Drive and USB connectivity for all your MP3 playing needs at speed with the wind in your hair and the sun on your face.

Nissan unveiled today at the New York Auto Show the 2009 Maxima, a model that marks a return to the longtime Nissan flagship sedan’s roots as a commanding 4-door sports car – a vehicle that is unique in both appearance and driving feel.
For five previous generations, Maxima has been built on a front-wheel drive (FWD) platform. Yet with the new Maxima’s development team everything was open for discussion, including the benefits of front-wheel drive versus rear-wheel drive (RWD). Although there are well-known advantages of RWD in terms of sporty handling, it was ultimately decided that by switching Maxima from its previous platform to Nissan’s new “D platform,” which was first introduced on the current Nissan Altima Sedan, Hybrid and Coupe, the target Maxima performance could be delivered – without giving up the added FWD benefits of lower costs, lower weight and enhanced roominess versus a RWD platform.
For 2009, Maxima again features a standard 3.5-liter VQ-series V6 engine, enhanced and refined to take its driving performance to new levels. The engine delivers 290 hp and 261 lb-ft of torque (estimated), increases of 35 horsepower and 9 lb-ft of torque over the 2008 Maxima. All 2009 Maximas come equipped with a revised Xtronic CVT with manual mode, tuned specifically for Maxima’s sporty driving character.

The second model presented by Nissan at the New York Auto Show is the Denki (Japanese for “electric”) Cube Concept. The lithium-ion battery-powered Denki Cube electric vehicle concept was created to draw attention to Nissan global environmental efforts. It also serves as a preview of Nissan’s future small car strategy for the North American market, which includes plans to sell a redesigned gasoline-powered, next-generation Cube at Nissan dealers in the United States and Canada beginning in 2009.
The Denki Cube Concept’s exterior features fresh front and rear styling treatments, including a new “electric themed” front grille design with an AC power charging port, a radical “lightning” headlight design and new bumpers and turn signal lamps. In the rear, the signature Cube asymmetrical rear quarter area (with wraparound glass on one side) has been enhanced by a new bumper with hidden taillights. The roof sheet metal has been replaced with a full fixed glass panel that enhances the interior’s sense of wide-open space. The Denki Cube Concept exterior also features new door mirrors and unique 16-inch wheel covers. The finishing touch is provided by a special white pearl paint and graphics.
The biggest transformation from production Cube to Denki Cube Concept is one that isn’t visible – the replacement of the standard 1.3-liter inline 4-cylinder gasoline engine with an electric motor and laminated lithium-ion batteries located under the floor and seats. The laminated structure and unique material technology offer more power, energy and battery stability, as well as compact size and packaging flexibility, versus conventional cylindrical batteries.
For the first time ever in the Nissan Z’s 37-year history, a high-performance NISMO 350Z is part of the extensive Z lineup. The new 2007 Nissan NISMO 350Z, which makes its North American debut at the 2007 New York International Auto Show, features an extensively developed list of unique equipment – including a special body package and improved handling equipment. This new model, the fifth in the 2007 350Z Coupe lineup, is available with a 6-speed manual transmission only. It goes on sale at Nissan dealers nationwide in July 2007.
Building on previous generation Altima’s reputation as the design and dynamic leader in class, the all-new 2007 Nissan Altima is evolutionary in design, but revolutionary in its platform and hardware. The new Altima also addresses target customers’ desires for a more rewarding driving and ownership experience by offering new levels of quality feel, enhanced comfort and available convenience features.
The new 2007 Nissan Maxima, which is scheduled to go on sale in early summer 2006, elevates Maxima’s position as Nissan’s flagship sedan with a redesigned exterior, a greatly refined interior and the addition of new, available technology features. Another significant change is the adoption of the smooth, efficient Nissan Xtronic CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) in place of a traditional automatic transmission design on all models.
