Show’s over folks. I hope everyone who tuned in live enjoyed it. We again want to say a special thanks to all of our watchers and listeners. We do this thing for you, and we appreciate you giving us a bit of your time.
This week was a fun show. We celebrated hitting 21 episodes by cracking open some bottles of root beer soda, and then we discussed what we had each bought to drink. Once that is out of the way, we actually get into some car stuff and we cover the Weekly Wheels. Mark was driving the Lexus IS350 Convertible, Justin had a shiny new silver Miata, and I was bombing around all week in a blue Nissan Versa Note.
For the news stories we covered the testing and subsequent burning of the new Honda NSX at the Nurburgring, we talk about Elon Musk’s newest Tesla, and Justin talks a bit about an “affordable” Bentley coupe. We also spend a quick second talking about video games, and then Mark gets to go a little crazy with some truck talk involving a potential rival for the Ford Raptor and the new engine for the 2015 F150.
Once we finish ranting about car news, we hit up the viewer questions. We talk about which is better, diesel or gas and why, and we go over some essential road-trip checks and packing supplies. Once we make it through that, we move to our signature Own, Drive, Burn in which we have to pick between three different historical Porsche models.
We hope you guys liked it, and we can’t wait to see you next week. As a side note, next week’s show will be on Wednesday. I hope to see you all there.
Don’t forget to leave us a comment with your questions or suggestions for Own, Drive, Burn, and please let us know what you think of the show and how we are doing. ***We will start this party at approximately 0945 US EASTERN TIME***
Ladies and Gentleman, you are invited to join us for a special early-week TopSpeed Podcast. The best part? It is totally live. Feel free to click the play button on the YouTube video to hang out with us; you can even chat and comment live to give us feedback and ask us questions.
I know the show is a few days early, but I have a special announcement to make. I don’t want to spoil anything, but it involves lots of horsepower and an epic road trip. You have to watch to see what the announcement is.
Beyond the special announcement, we are going to talk about Justin’s drive of the new 4-Series, the new McLaren P13 GT and the future of solar powered roads.
Mark is also going to regale us with tales of his time with the Chrysler Town & Country, and then we plan on discussing the changed coming to the 2015 Nissan Frontier and then we plan on covering the crazy Hyundai Veloster Midship Concept.
We may have another piece of news or two, and of course we will have viewer questions, and a round of Own, Drive, Burn.
Click that play button and hang out!
Welcome to the most awesome automotive podcast extravaganza on the internet, the TopSpeed Podcast. We have audio, we have video (after the break), and we have lots of banter about cars!
In this Thursday’s episode we bring you talks of the Nissan 370Z Nismo, the (exciting) Challenger Hellcat and Mark’s NASCAR roadtrip. We even find time to cover the revival of the Nissan Pulsar name and the new/old Jaguar Lightweight E-Type.
We also take a minute to remember F1 legend Sir Jack Brabum.
Our weekly wheels include a discussion about the Acura MDX that Justin got to drive, and the IS 350 F Sport that Mark went to Charlotte in. I am left out of the party again, but I have a new toy to talk about next week.
We have a few questions from the audience including what would make the perfect enthusiast vacation, top tracks to listen to while driving, and we speculate on what old cars need a good dose of carbon in their diet.
As always, we finish things off with Own, Drive, Burn and a trio of McLaren supercars.
Hope you enjoy. As always, you can reach us on Twitter @TopSpeedPodcast, through email Podcast@TopSpeed.com and you can leave us a comment below.
Don’t forget that you can leave us a rating at iTunes.
See you next Thursday!
