Anyone strolling across the outside area at this year’s IAA did not believe his eyes: at the slot-car circuit of the traditional Carrera racing course manufacturer, which is frequently visited, there was a genuine Opel Manta A.

The red ray from Rüsselsheim presented itself fresh from its baptism. Timelessly beautiful in its shape, it was self-confident that it could also survive alongside the automobile trend-setters of the year of 2007. The Manta A is a designer’s masterpiece, which has been transformed into a new condition by the Carrera crew.

A fresh coat of paint makes the sports car radiate in its new shine. The honest 1900 ccm engine from the Rekord manages 90 BHP and has been designed for eternity anyway. As it has been lowered, the Manta has an even more dynamic effect.

The contemporary equipment is supplemented by an extensive sound system and a navigation system as modern accessories. The Daytona Dark wheel rims from DOTZ look particularly good on the "oldie". Old and new match up particularly well.

The 17-inch wheel with its five plain black bars and the silver horn harmonises perfectly with the elegant, not too playful bodywork of the Manta A and underlines the flowing, almost Italian shape of the car.

The Daytona Dark from DOTZ again proves to be the ideal tuning supplement for old-timers and young-timers of the 1970’s and 1980’s. At Carrera they have interpreted the term "tuning" somewhat differently: in the boot of this speedy Opel, there are not the amplifier modules which you will normally find, but a completely functional, oval racing course with 1:24 scale vehicles.
