In the past year or so, electric vehicles (EV) have proven that they can be really competitive. You don’t have to take our word for it, though, just take a look at the Electric RaceAbout which got plenty of attention for its bouts on both ice and the Nurburgring. Now that gas prices are on the rise yet again, some companies are fully embracing the fact that electric cars are the future, even in motorsports competition.

This is exactly why Quimera Responsible Racing is preparing to launch a high-performance All Electric Drift Car (AEDC) for the racing season, but they are going to need some help. The car’s official launch is set for October 2012, and before that happens, the team has to decided on the livery that will be used for the racer. This is where all of you come in. All you have to do is enter your designs at and get as many Likes as possible. The winner will be awarded with a trip to California’s Irwindale Speedway – aka The House of Drift – for the car’s official unveiling on October 12th and $5000 spending cash.

The All Electric Drift Car’s electric engine will deliver somewhere between 200 - 270 HP and will be powered by super charged lithium iron phosphate batteries with an average range of 150 miles. It can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds, making it one of the fastest electric vehicles.

With that image, it’s impossible not to gather 2013 likes or share at the given time. Just show more pictures and presto! That will be totally fun.

Woo ah! If only I have plenty of times to create a design for that AEDC, I’ll give them what the enthusiast like. All of them are speedy and using electricity. It’s a nice concept isn’t it?

What’s the difference between the Hybrid and Electrical?

If this was only released earlier, I think there would be more electric cars which are perfectly efficient on performing, especially drifting.

Really, that prize is for real? Yeah it does a lot to this endorsement, but I guess it’s attention-grabbing as it is.

I’m rooting for this concept because I think that if this prevails, the view on electric cars will be much higher.

Whoa, amazing speed! Its look is like one of those anime cars!

Hopefully, this will add fragrance to electric cars’ reputation. I can clearly see how efficient and dynamic it really is.

I will anticipate the upcoming release of this concept. I’m certain that it will build a higher status for the electric cars.

The prize seems like a promotional gimmick too. I think they don’t need to do that as AEDC concept is already interesting. Nevertheless, I won’t want to ruin the people’s fun. :P

If this were a success, it would greatly help the electric cars’ reputation. It’s not like we don’t know how efficient they are; they’re just outdone by fuel-powered cars.

This is a truly astounding concept. I’ve always believed that electric vehicles can perform as much, if not better, as fuel-powered ones. As for the giveaway, I’d give it a try since I want to win the amazing chance!
