With the Pagani Huayra being on the market for the better part of a decade – actually it will be a decade as of 2022 – the world has been expecting a successor. Now, we don’t exactly have all of the specifics, but a new report quoting none other than Horacio Pagani has shed some light on a few things that we can expect. The most important development is that it will remain true to its internal combustion roots with no hint of electrification in the mix.
A New Investment in Pagani Could Lead the Manufacturer Into New Territory
A Saudi Arabian Investment company now owns a significant portion of Pagani, and this could be a bigger deal than you think. So far, Pagani’s have been a product of Horacio’s imagination. However, there are now two ways forward for the company and its cars. It could use the extra dough to make its cars that much more insane, possibly with some Middle Eastern flare, or it could be the production of a corporate culture that kills the very soul of Pagani to please shareholders.

Back in September 2020, F1 driver, Lewis Hamilton told he is trying to be as environmentally friendly as possible outside the track. He had told Reuters in the past that he doesn’t drive any of the cars he owns other than his German EV, the Mercedes EQC. But, less than a year later, he was spotted driving his one-off Pagani Zonda 760LH. In Hamilton’s defense, how can you not drive a Pagani when it’s available at your disposal!

Pagani launched the Huayra back in 2011. After all the 100 examples were sold out, the company followed it with four more limited-production Huayra models - Roadster, BC, Roadster BC, and the Imola. Now, to commemorate the original Huayra’s 10th anniversary, Pagani has introduced a special edition called the Pacchetto Tempesta. It is based on the Huayra BC and comes with aero and performance upgrades. For those of you wondering what ‘Pacchetto Tempesta’ means, it is Italian for ‘Storm Pack’.

The Pagani Huayra arrived on the automotive scene in 2011 as a spiritual successor to the Zonda. It derives its name from Huayra-tata, a Quetcha wind God. The company announced just 100 examples of the Huayra when launched and all of them we sold by 2015. This was followed by the Huayra Roadster, Huayra BC, Huayra Roadster BC, and the Huayra Imola. All of these are limited production models as well and Pagani will build just 100, 20, 40, and five examples, respectively.

Pagani’s latest track-only weapon, the $3.7 million Huayra R, is still warm having been taken out of Horacio’s oven only recently. With 840 horsepower that has to move around just 2,314 pounds of weight, this V-12-powered beauty is a worthy sequel to the Zonda R but it leaves us with one big question: why doesn’t Pagani go racing? We know the people working there love racing, it’s noticeable at every step when you look at a Pagani yet Horacio never spent much to see the Pagani name in competition.

Mysterious Teaser From Pagani Previews A New Supercar With A Mach Speed Gauge
Italian supercar maker Pagani could unveil a new vehicle on December 17. In a short teaser video released on Twitter, Pagani shows a couple of new features developed for an upcoming supercar and says we should "hold on tight" as we are about to "celebrate Air Speed" later this month. First introduced in 2012, the Pagani Huayra is already eight years old as of 2020, but the Italian supercar is still alive and kicking with a hardcore R version underway. The Huayra R will be unveiled on November 12 and word has it Pagani is dropping the twin-turbo V-12 engine in favor of a naturally aspirated mill. This bespoke engine will produce in excess of 900 horsepower, meaning that the Huayra R will be the most powerful Pagani yet!
