2017 Pagani Zonda HP Barchetta
As a company that has become no stranger to dazzling one-off creations, Pagani is back at it again with, well, another one-off Zonda masterpiece. This time, though, the Italian automaker didn’t build one for a deep-pocketed customer with far too much wealth for his own good. This ultra-exclusive Zonda, called the Zonda HP Barchetta, is for the man who launched Pagani in the first place, Horacio Pagani.
It’s been a long road for the Pagani Zonda to get to this point. It was launched all the way back in 1999 and while it was eventually replaced in 2011 by the Huayra, it’s remarkable run has continued in the form of one one-off model after another, including recent introductions like the Fantasma Evo and the Riviera. The HP Barchetta follows in this tradition and while it is technically a “three-off” – three models will be built – its place secure as one of the most unique Zondas in Pagani’s history. There’s a lot to the Zonda HP Barchetta that justifies its status as a different beast compared to its contemporaries, even by the completely exclusive standards that Pagani’s Uno-di-Uno division upholds. It adopts many of the unique styling features that previous exclusive Zondas had and adds to it with design elements that we’ve never seen from Pagani, be it on the Zonda or the Huayra. It’s fitting then that the HP Barchetta gets these “new” upgrades since these three models are likely to be the last Zondas to be created. I know that Pagani has towed that line numerous times in the past, but if it decided to finally send the Zonda to the shed, the Zonda HP Barchetta is a pretty good final send-off.

2017 Pagani Zonda Riviera
They say that fine art speaks incredible stories while sitting still as people look at them. In a lot of ways, the Pagani Zonda is the farthest thing from fine art, particularly that it doesn’t do well in an idle state. Then again, the Zonda is also, in other ways, the epitome of fine art. It’s limited nature and exotic qualities make it precious in a lot of eyes. And as far as the stories it tells, well, let’s just say they make for good conversations. Take this particular Zonda for example. It’s now called the Zonda Riviera, but it didn’t always carry the name. Once upon a time, it was a Zonda F, and in the decade that’s been alive, it’s been through quite a lot for a car of its stature.
It does seem a little odd that we’re seeing another Zonda get reimagined as a new model only a week after seeing another of its kind, the Zonda Fantasma Evo, go through the same treatment. These events do speak of the age of the model and the fact that it’s been 12 years since Pagani rolled out the Zonda F means that we’re likely to see more of them in the near future. For now, though, the Zonda Riviera takes center stage, as the Zonda Fantasma Evo did last week. it doesn’t quite have an eventful story as Fantasma Evo - that one literally came back from a crash - but it does have a tale or two in its pocket, as most Pagani Zonda Fs that have aged rather nicely will tell us.

2017 Pagani Zonda Fantasma Evo
If cars could tell stories and write books about their lives and what they’ve been through, this particular Pagani Zonda would have a New York Times best-seller on its hands. See, it may look like a brand-new Zonda that Pagani has kept under lock and key in Italy, but it’s actually far from new. Strip away the new body and what you get is a 12-year old car that originated as a Zonda F. True story.
Now it’s christened as the Pagani Zonda Fantasma Evo and it looks resplendent in dark red carbon fiber. Even in its new guise, this car’s history is as rich as any Pagani model in history. It’s been through a crash that left it short of the scrap heap. It’s been sent back to Pagani for nips and tucks more times than even the owner can count. It’s changed names a handful of times, too, first as the Zonda F before being renamed the Zonda SH to account for the owner’s initials. From there, it became the Zonda Fantasma because it apparently has a nicer ring to it. And after the latest series of modifications, it’s added the “Evo” moniker, this officially making it the Zonda Fantasma Evo. Through it all though, one thing about the car that hasn’t changed: the AMG-sourced V-8. Twelve years after hitting the market, the Zonda Fantasma Evo still makes use of a naturally aspirated, 7.3-liter engine, though it now makes 100 more horsepower than its 660 factory tune. In a nutshell, the Zonda Fantasma Evo has become the living embodiment of the saying, “the more things change, the more they stay the same.”

Back in the late 2000s, Pagani’s official dealer in Hong Kong requested that Pagani build “the most extreme road-legal Zonda ever created.” Pagani was up to the challenge and, in 2009, Pagani issued a direct response to the request with the Pagani Zonda Cinque. The Cinque was produced in just five examples (with an additional five examples built in roadster form) and was built with the track performance standards of the Zonda R combined with the road-legal standards of the Zonda F.
The end result was a car that was more powerful than the Zonda F with the looks of something that should be chained up inside of a luxurious stable at the track. Furthermore, The Zonda Cinque was actually the first road-legal car that was supported by a carbon-titanium frame and the first Zonda to have a six-speed sequential transmission. Powered by a detuned version of the Mercedes-sourced 7.3-liter V-12, the Zonda Cinque was obviously a very special machine.
As of the time of this writing, seven years has passed since the Zonda Cinque made its official debut (and made five wealthy people very happy,) so let’s take a look back on one of the coolest Zonda’s ever made. After all, one could say it is a genuine work of art.

2016 Pagani Zonda by Mileson
Pagani is one of those companies that sits up there with the likes of Koenigsegg. It has a very limited customer base and offers a completely different flare compared to brands like Lamborghini and Ferrari. Pagani has a small but wealthy customer base that loves to request one-off cars like the Revolucion Special Edition, Zonda Manual 760 Roadster, and the ZoZo, to name a few. Now, it looks like Zonda and one of its wealthy customers have done it again, and this time, we’re talking about another one-off Zonda created for famed supercar collector Mileson Guo. Hence the name Zonda 760 by Mileson.
For now, there are very few details available about the actual car, but we were able to locate some pictures of the car and, needless to say, it is as beautiful as they come. Of course, it is a one-off, so it’s the only one like this you’ll ever see, but it does feature a beautiful blue hue across most of the body with black accents. And there’s something about that wing that we need to talk about as well. So, with that said, let’s dive on in and take a look at this very special one off.

2016 Pagani Zonda MD
The Zonda debuted at the 1999 Geneva Motor Show as Pagani’s first production model. Under development since the late 1980s, the Zonda’s design was inspired by jet fighters and the Sauber-Mercedes Group C race cars. The car was first tested at the Dallara wind tunnel in 1993, and in 1994, Mercedes-Benz agreed to supply Pagani with V-12 engines. Pagani launched many developments of the Zonda throughout the years, offering updated aerodynamics and engines. While the prototype’s 6.0-liter V-12 generated 389 horsepower, the final 760-series models came with a larger 7.3-liter V-12 that cranked out 760 horsepower. Releases included track-ready and track-only versions, as well as an array of one-off variants built to unique specs.
Although the nameplate was officially retired in 2011, when the Huayra was introduced as a replacement, new Zondas, mostly unique cars with expensive options, kept rolling out from Pagani’s shop. The latest to see the light of day is the Zonda MD, which was completed and delivered to its lucky owner in June 2016.
Whether this is the last Zonda to leave Horacio’s shop or not is a mystery only time will solve, but given Pagani’s tradition as a bespoke car manufacturer, I wouldn’t be surprised to see new models hitting the streets later this year. But until that happens, let’s have a closer look at Horacio’s latest Zonda project, the MD. Oh, and in case you’re wondering, those two letters are the initials of the owner.

Even though the Zonda has been officially out of production since 2011, and replaced by the Huayra, Pagani seems to have a hard time saying no to all the special edition Zondas that have been commissioned in the years since. Presented at the end of 2014, the Zonda 760 RSJX was considered to be the last Zonda, built after the car was supposed to go out of production.
That said, yet another Zonda has appeared on the horizon in 2015. Called ZoZo, the latest Zonda was built for Japan’s youngest billionaire, Yusaku Maezawa, who is the founder of an online fashion mall called ZoZoTown, hence the supercar’s moniker. Featuring an evolutionary design that blends old-school Pagani features with a couple of motifs inspired by early sketches for the Zonda R, the new Zonda 760 ZoZo is quite similar to Lewis Hamilton’s 760 LH in specifications.

When Horacio Pagani, the man responsible for the late Lamborghini Countach, the LM002 and the Diablo, began designing his own car in the late 1980s, supercar enthusiasts had no idea what to expect from the Modena-based company. The result surfaced only a decade later, when the Zonda was launched at the 1999 Geneva Motor Show. And it was staggering, combining a highly aerodynamic body with a lightweight chassis and a massive V-12 engine sourced from AMG. The Zonda evolved in many forms throughout the years, with several versions and special editions adding to its now iconic image. Although production of the Zonda ended in 2013 as the Huayra came in to replace it, special editions of the supercar are still being launched in 2014, as customers the world over are still ordering unique and very expensive supercars. The most recent Zonda to leave Pagani’s shop is the 760 RSJX, a 760-series model that traveled all the way to Hong Kong to meet its new owner.
While some might argue that the Zonda is getting pretty old, the Italian supercar is still popular with enthusiasts, and the RSJX comes to prove just that. Finished in a unique pastel green color with familiar carbon-fiber accents, the RSJX is arguably the most appealing Zonda of the 760 series. The Pagani Zonda may be 14 years old, but it seems the company’s first supercar is simply refusing to retire. The main reason behind its prolonged life is that customer order keep pouring in. This is how the bespoke 760 series was born, which, as of September 2014, included just two unique models: the 760 LM and the 760 X. Four months after the Le Mans-like LM was delivered to its owner, Pagani created yet another model, this time refer to as the 760, with no initials whatsoever. According to Prototype Zero, the third Zonda of the 760 series was delivered in Dubai to an unknown but wealthy collector.
Like most recent Zondas, this specific 760 is unique, showcasing a combination of exterior and interior features not seen on any other supercar of its kind. Is this the final Zonda to come out of Italy? Well, we thought about that with each 760 series model and the Italians returned with a new iteration every time. This 760 could very well mark the end of an era for Pagani, but it looks like we’ll just have to wait a while longer to find that out. Meanwhile, let’s have a look at Pagani’s latest creation below.

Even though production of the mighty Pagani Zonda was supposed to come to a halt once the last example of the Zonda Revolucion left the company’s workshop in Modena, the Italian automaker is not yet keen on letting its supercar become a thing of the past.
Last time we checked, Horacio and his crew were working on the Zonda LM, a vehicle based on the 760 RS and paying tribute to the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans race. Up until now, the consensus was that the LM is the final Zonda to come out of Modena. Well, guess what? Pagani is rolling out yet another supercar that goes by the name 760 X and, like most of its bespoke cousins, it’s a one-off rocket.
Unlike the Zonda LM, which displays a carbon-fiber suit, the 760 X comes in an eye-catching Baby Blue-like wrap, with only a few body pieces, such as the enormous rear wing or the long air scoop covering the cabin, showing their bare carbon skin. For an extra touch of exclusivity, the taillights have their surrounds finished in the green, white and red colors of the Italian flag, a trick borrowed from the Zonda Uno.
Moving into the cabin, we find the same shade of blue covering the leather-wrapped seats and some of the dashboard. Like with most Zondas, the cockpit is crammed with carbon-fiber parts and aluminum inserts. Can you believe the Zonda is actually 15 years old? There’s no specific word on how many ponies are motivating the 760 X, but the vehicle’s designation is a strong hint that the AMG-sourced V-12 mill cranks out 760 horsepower.

Introduced in 1999, the Pagani Zonda was supposed to retire this year once the fifth and final example of the Zonda Revolucion rolled out of Horacio’s workshop in Modena, Italy. However, a mysterious vehicle that surfaced online recently suggests the company has built one more supercar before closing the Zonda chapter once and for all.
Although Pagani has yet to reveal any details about this peculiar model, the folks over at Prototype Zero claim it’s a unique vehicle that has been christened LM. The bespoke supercar is reportedly based on the 760 RS model and pays tribute to the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans race. Unlike other special edition Zondas, the LM is supposed to wear a revised front fascia with brand-new headlamps.
The video below doesn’t shed too much light on that aspect, mainly because the vehicle’s front end is covered in duct tape, but it does reveal other features that make us believe we’re not looking at a "regular" Zonda. For instance, it carries a huge wing that’s different than the one seen on the Zonda Revolucion. What’s more, it sports "LM" graphics on the rear fenders and tricolore stripes depicting the Italian flag on one side and the German flag on the other.
The rest of the body appears to be built on standard 760 RS specifications, including wider fenders, a roof-mounted airscoop and rear fender intakes. Power should come from the same AMG-sourced, 6.0-liter V-12 mill, but we wouldn’t be surprised if output figures would blow past the 800-horsepower mark.
All told, this is an intriguing Zonda we’re very anxious to learn more about, so make sure you stay tuned to TopSpeed for more details.

Exclusivity and fast cars have gone hand in hand for years. Corvettes, Porsches, Lamborghinis, Ferraris, and Bugattis all have both factors in common and to an increasing degree as the list progresses. However, There’s one car maker, and more specifically, one car model, that oozes with the sort of bespoke rarity only found in artistic works from the likes of de Vinci or Michelangelo; the Pagani Zonda Revolucion.
The Zonda Revolucion is Pagani’s greatest iteration of the Zonda supercar and will likely be the last. This last hurrah of greatness for the nameplate that dates back to 1999, the Revolucion is a hyper version of the already-hyper Zonda R.
Like the Zonda R, the Revolucion’s power comes from an AMG-sourced 6.0-liter V-12 that churns out an amazing 800 horsepower and 538 pound-feet of torque. A central monocoque carbon-titanium chassis and carbon fiber everything keeps the Revolucion’s weight down to a skimpy 2,358 pounds.
Supercars like this aren’t usually built in great quantity, which holds true in extreme form for the Revolucion. Only five were ever made. The one you see pictured above is number two, delivered to its owner in Japan in 2013. Number five, however, is headed to the Geneva Motor Show in early March to show off one last time before being delivered to its lucky owner.

The Pagani Zonda’s history begins in 1999 with the Zonda C12. That model paved the way for models like the Zonda S 7.3, Zonda Roadster, Zonda Cinque, and the Zonda R, to name a few. The best model of all, however, was produced in just five examples and was called the Zonda Revolucion. As Pagani put it, the Revolucion was “The evolution of the species, the revolution in the concept of art applied to pure speed.” In comparison to the Zondas that came before it, the Revolucion brought about new features and a new aerodynamic package that included a new rear wing and a new drag reduction system. More importantly, the Mercedes-sourced mill that powers the beast also got a little updating as well.
At the time of its release, Horacio Pagani – the Owner and chief designer of Pagani – said, “Limits are made to be overcome. We knew that Pagani Zonda R was already a fast car, the fastest ever on the Nuerburgring Nordschleife. We knew it would be very difficult to design and build a car that was even more extreme. But thanks to the creativity of our designers, engineers, and the whole Pagani family, we created a beautiful object and the fastest Pagani vehicle ever. A car that I am sure will electrify all our customers and fans all over the world.”
The Zonda Revolucion was unveiled at the 2013 Vanishing Point during the International Pagani Gathering. It was priced at €2.2 million, which translates to roughly $2.8 million at the currency conversion rate back in 2013. With only five examples produced, four of them were sold during the private presentation, which made a very good weekend for the Pagani family. With that said, let’s take a look back at what is, arguably, the best Zonda model ever made.

In the world of supercars, you have many different players. Ferrari is the technological wonder child, while Lamborghini is that school bully that developed a bit of common sense with age.Aston Martin is the sophisticated gentlemen spy that can charm any living thing with a single word. Then, you come to Pagani, the new boy. These cars don’t feature any sophistication or old world charm. Yet, their radical designs and outrageous performance have placed them in the top tier of the supercar tree and now, we have a new version, the C9.
In the world of follow-ups, this one is massive. Sort of like the Godfather II following the Godfather. The Zonda was the car that made Pagani into the company you see today. Automotive journalists loved it and the base version spawned many different special editions and one-offs like the Zonda F and Cinque. It was like nothing ever seen before. The Zonda’s development was evolutionary, but the C9 that will replace it will be revolutionary.

We are not very sure how many of you remember the unique Zonda PS announced back in 2009, but for those of you that do, Pagani has now unveiled a new version of the PS edition. The model announced back in 2009 was spotted a few times while it was heading to the 24 Hours of Le Mans, but it was stored and there was no chance to see it again.
However, a new version of the Zonda PS has been caught for the first time. As you can see, the new PS edition has dropped the previous white and black combination and looks a little bit more stylish, thanks to its new blue color.
The Zonda PS also features a gigantic spoiler and a roof scoop, just like the ones we have seen in the Zonda R.
More details on the new Pagani Zonda PS will be unveiled in the upcoming weeks, so stay tuned!
It’s hard to believe but the Pagani Zonda, arguably one of the most colorful super cars of this generation, is already 12 years old. For a niche supercar brand like Pagani, that in itself is an outstanding achievement.
But since the Huayra is now in the fold, the Zonda’s life has been on borrowed time and over the past few years, Pagani has resorted to producing a limited number of one-off, special edition models for a select number of customers.
From the HH to the Rak to the Tricolore, and even Lewis Hamilton’s 760 LH, the Zonda is ready to say goodbye in a manner few exotics of its kind get to do.
But before that, there’s still time for one more one-off: the Zonda 764 Passione.
Pagani has yet to reveal official photos of the 764 Passione but there’s word that the supercar will feature a naked carbon fiber body with pink accents on the car.
Under it’s hood, the 764 Passione will carry a 7.3-liter V12 engine that’s expected to produce 760 horsepower - 764, maybe? - akin to Lewis Hamilton’s one-off LH model. Speaking of the Zonda LH, the 764 Passione will also feature a six-speed manual transmission instead of the sequential paddle-shift gears of some of its other contemporaries.
So now that the Zonda is finally ready to say adieu, do you think the 764 Passione is a fitting send-off to one of the best exotics of the past decade?

We are slightly obsessed with Paganis and we make no attempts to hide it. We love them in all shapes, paint jobs, and forms. Well, that was until now.
Enter in a fantastically awesome orange Pagani Zonda F with its 650-horsepower AMG V-12 pumping in the background. As you approach it from the rear, you see all of the familiar Zonda F signatures: quad tailpipes, triple-stacked taillights, low-laying spoiler, an ass end that is so awkwardly long that its sexy, and its bubble-top cabin.
As you walk around the front you see... Airbrush ugliness thrown on the front end. Look, I am a huge Batman fan and have seen all of the movies and watched the Adam West series (re-runs) to completion. That’s right, the dude that owns this automotive awesomeness ruined it (in our opinion) by having Batman airbrushed on the front.
To make matters worse, he went the classic route and placed the sound effects in thought bubbles, yet he left the "m" off of "Boom." Apparently, he is trying to play off the Pagani’s stylish headlights as the "m," but it doesn’t line up with the "Boo" and it’s outside of the thought bubble.. Ugh, talk about failing in every sense of the word.
Regardless, the car can still be salvaged, given a driver that does not rock pink shades while he cruises in a Batman-liveried supercar decides to save it from its unholy path.
Then again, if you have $700,000 to drop on a supercar, you can pretty much do as you please with it. At least it’s not a poorly built knock-off that barely escapes the bounds of the average highway speed limit.
It’s no secret that Formula 1 drivers are some of the most highly paid sportsmen in the world. With some contracts topping $10 million without taking into account individual sponsorships, F1 drivers could literally swim in money. One of the most interesting things about this is that many F1 drivers just drive regular, everyday cars, rather than sports cars as everything feels slow when compared to an F1 car.
However, if reports are to be believed, 2008 world champion Lewis Hamilton may have just purchased a road-car as close to an F1 car as you can get, the Pagani Zonda. And, no not just any old Zonda, but a one-off car built specifically for him reportedly called the 760 LH, and it doesn’t take a genius to work out what the ‘LH’ stands for.
Hamilton’s car is said to be based upon the 760 RS which was recently commissioned and built for a very special Chilean owner. The 760 RS is the most powerful production car Pagani has built to date, even surpassing the Huayra by about 60BHP, pumping out an incredible 760 horsepower. The car ordered by Hamilton differs in one major way to the RS, as it will be built with a traditional manual transmission, leading the McLaren driver to state, “my company car has a paddle-change gearbox, so when I drive for fun, I want a manual.”
It’s unclear just how long Hamilton will have to wait for his brand new hypercar, but considering the Zonda is built completely by hand, he’ll be lucky to have it delivered in the next six months. It’s also worth noting that Horacio Pagani has previously stated that one-off Zonda’s will continued to be made if demand is there, despite the Huayra now being the company’s flagship supercar.

While everyone’s attention may be focused on the new Pagani Huayra, it seems that the Italian company still has a few tricks up its sleeve when it comes to their Zonda supercar. GT Spirit has found the first images of a one-off Pagani Zonda 760 RS - unique supercar that was created for a customer in either Chile or China, depending on which rumor you believe.
The Pagani Zonda 760 RS actually began as a custom built Zonda 750 requested by an Arab family, but when they canceled the order, Pagani transformed it into the 760 RS. The car is based on a Zonda F, but features an exposed carbon fiber exterior with a unique aerodynamic package that includes components from the Cinque, like the rear air ducts and the roof air intake.
The 760 RS name is representative of the good things found under the hood: an AMG-sourced engine that delivers a total of 760 HP - 90 HP more than the Zonda Cinque and 20 HP more than the Zonda R. This extra power will undoubtedly be enough to sprint the car to a top speed of more than 217 mph.
UPDATE 04/05/2012: Youtube user OuncesofAwesome12 was able to get up close and personal with the Zonda 760 RS and brought his video camera along for the ride. The video doesn’t exactly scream quality - the camera is very shaky and the angles are terrible - but at least we get a good deal more details than the random cropped image we had before. The release of Pagani’s new supercar - the Huayra - prompted an immediate memory loss of their previous beast, the Pagani Zonda F. However, the Zonda was not going to go down without a fight and SuperVettura Sales Ltd. in the UK is making sure of that with the new Zonda F Roadster Clubsport Final Edition - number 24 of the original 25 Zonda F Roadster models built back in 2006.
The Pagani Zonda F Clubsport Roadster "Final Edition" will be distinguished by a full visible carbon fiber body dressed in black, followed by grey hide for the interior. Some of the original features of the Zonda F were retained such as the folding roof with central carbon fiber spine and the lower canvas areas. The best tool kept from the original model is the 7.3 Liter naturally aspirated AMG engine mated to a manual transmission that together deliver a total of 650 hp.
If anyone is interested in purchasing this one of a kind vehicle, then they’d better break open more than just a few piggy banks. This beauty is currently selling for $2,300,000, which is well worth it considering its exclusivity.
Did anyone really think the Pagani Tricolore would be the last Zonda produced? We didn’t think so, but among the variety of one-off models available, the vehicle that has the honor of being called the first is the Pagani Uno. This ultra-exclusive Pagani was commissioned by Ana Al-Thani, a member of the Royal Family of Qatar, whose love for baby blue supercars borders on weird.
The Zonda Uno is powered by a 7.3-liter V12 AMG engine that produces 700 horsepower and was designed with some combined elements from the Zonda Cinque and the Zonda R, including the latter’s used of a revised carbon fiber that uses titanium for added strength.
Surprisingly - and not even a year after receiving the one-off - Ana Al-Thani has had enough fun and is now selling it on the open market.
