World-famous tennis star and Porsche->ke1 Ambassador Maria Sharapova took a trip to her hometown of Sochi, Russia where the Winter Olympics are currently under way to show off her bespoke Porsche Panamera->ke1840 she helped design through the Porsche Exclusive program.

The Porsche Panamera GTS, appropriately named the Porsche Panamera “by Maria Sharapova,” is coated in a unique cream white paint accented by tinted exterior lights, black tailpipe covers, and 20-inch Panamera sport wheels also finished in black. The deeply tinted front LED lights include the Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus, or PDLS+ in acronym speak.

Inside, the custom Panamera features body-colored instrument gauges and a key fob while cream stitching weaves its way throughout the leather-lined cabin. Adding further levels of custom work, the front and rear headrests are embossed with the Porsche crest and the armrests have “Panamera GTS” logo affixed to them.

“Creating and specifying a very personal Porsche Panamera was such an exciting undertaking, Sharapova told the media in Sochi. “It opens the door to a whole new design sensibility and allowed me to bring my own personal aesthetic.”

From the press materials, her Panamera appears to be mechanically stock – and that’s not a bad thing. The Panamera GTS is powered by a 4.8-liter V-8 that kicks out 440 horsepower. Zero to 60 mph comes in a quick 4.2 seconds on its way to a 179 mph top speed. The base price for all that fun is $113,400, not including all the optional extras Sharapova put on her’s.

Porsche Panamera GTS

The Porsche Panamera is somewhat of an oddity in the Porsche lineup. Beside the Cayneen and upcoming Macan, the Panamera is a large departure from the small sports coupes of Porsche's past. However, that doesn't spot the four-door sedan from behaving like a Porsche.

A naturally-aspirated 4.8-liter V-8 rumbles out 440 horsepower in GTS trim. New for 2014 is the powerplant under the Panamera S and 4S' hoods: a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 that makes 420 horsepower and 384 pound-feet of torque. All that blown air helps the 4S model leap to 60 mph in 4.6 seconds.

Base price for a Panamera starts at $78,100 and can grow to over $200,000 after choosing all the costly options.
