Porsche's Latest Advertising Gimmick for the Taycan is the Definition of Hypocrisy

Porsche’s Latest Advertising Gimmick for the Taycan is the Definition of Hypocrisy

Should Porsche be advertising the all-electric Taycan on Dubai’s Burj Khalifa?

Porsche is revving up to introduce the Taycan, its first all-electric vehicle, and its latest ad for the four-door includes some amazing footage of the Burj Khalifa, the tallest structure and building in the world. But is this a smart way to showcase an all-electric, green car? Considering that Burj Khalifa was built in Dubai, a place where most wealth comes mainly from oil?

Every 2020 Superbowl LIV Car Commercial We've Found

Every 2020 Superbowl LIV Car Commercial We’ve Found

Even if you’re not into football, there’s one thing we can all agree on – the Superbowl usually hosts some pretty awesome car commercials. While there are plenty of commercials during the big game (they cost huge money, by the way) none of the companies that partake in the advertising craze seem to be as competitive as automotive companies. It’s almost like there’s a constant battle for all of them to one-up each other, and it ends up being pretty awesome for the rest of us.

It’s not often that advertisements come off as something we’re excited about, but this is one of those cases. So, with the big game just days away (kickoff happens on February 2,) we thought we’d compile all of the Superbowl LIV commercials released thus far. This includes commercials from Hyundai, Audi, Genesis, Kia, and – believe it or not – Porsche. The latter on that list hasn’t advertised during the big game in decades, so that’s kind of a big deal. Anyway, go ahead and scroll on down to get a sneak peak at Superbowl LIV’s car commercials.

Porsche Returns to the Land of Super Bowl Commercials with an Electrifying Commercial

Porsche Returns to the Land of Super Bowl Commercials with an Electrifying Commercial

Wait, is that the ___ hiding in plain sight?

Porsche is showing its first Super Bowl commercial in 23 years, and the star of the ad is none other than the all-electric Taycan. The German automaker’s first-ever all-electric production car is all set to hit the market this year, but there’s nothing quite like the platform and reach of the Super Bowl to get the hype going.

The 60-second commercial is called “The Heist” and unlike some previous ones that have touted electric technology more than the actual electric cars, this commercial is all about the Taycan… and several other Porsche vehicles. The 60-second ad will air in the first quarter of the game, but if you want to watch the extended cut, you can check out the video and watch it in its entirety.

Video: Porsche Engineered for Magic Commercials

Porsche has found a pretty interesting way to promote their vehicles; releasing a series of commercials that illustrate how their vehicles can be used for everyday activities. The series consists of the "Snowmobile," "Pickup Truck," "Getaway Car," "School Bus," and "Pet Carrier." Yeah, Porsche thinks their cars can manage all of those tasks.

“It’s not only about the weekend joyride. It’s the only car in the world that combines true sports car exhilaration and the drivability for daily use. This campaign brings this fact to life, painting a bigger picture of the real Porsche value proposition, in some cases through the words and images of owners themselves,” says David Pryor, vice president of marketing for Porsche Cars North America.

Of course, whether we agree or not, Porsche has certainly come up with an ingenious way of promoting their 911, Cayman, and Boxster models, although we just don’t them actually utilizing their personal Porsches for any of these tasks.

Video: Porsche Intelligent Performance

Porsche has unveiled a new commercial that shows that our love for cars is in our DNA. Okay, so our love for cars cannot be described as a genetic trait, but Porsche has put together their own strand of DNA that will allow them to continue producing cars at their magnitude, and they’ve created this commercial to explain it to all. Taking the concept a step further, Porsche has even revealed a web special page that explains the idea behind this commercial. Their main goal is to illustrate what makes a Porsche model so special. If you speak German then the explanation will be clear. If you don’t, well, you might need a translator to figure it out. Regardless the video is pretty cool, so check it out!

The "Porsche Intelligent Performance" is what makes a Porsche so special. This concept is what leads Porsche to create more efficient engines and lighter bodies. Porsche also explains that this concept allows them to create vehicles with more power, but with lower fuel consumption and lower emissions. Basically, the concept is just a name for the intelligent minds of the engineers that exist within Porsche, and the incredible results these engineers produce. If you want to see this concept in action then you can just take a look at the 911 GT3 R hybrid, the Cayenne S hybrid, and the Concept Study 918 Spyder

Video: Porsche’s new commercial touches on its roots in racing

While most of us enjoy our leisurely cruises around the block or the way we pamper our vehicles with car washes and auto detailing, some car brands just hold life’s pleasure of driving to an entirely different standard. Whereas other brands are absorbed in the idea of style over substance, Porsche is only invested in one thing: racing. Everything else is secondary.

According to Porsche’s new commercial, Sunday drives involve racing in rainy conditions, car washes constitute diving in a pool of mud, burnouts and drifting are considered as ‘pampering’ and the only pattern that holds relevant merit to them is the black and white checkered flag. The new commercial touches on Porsche’s roots and shows that despite the continuing trend of flashy cars proliferating the market these days, the Stuttgart-based automaker will not compromise their roots in racing for some posing.

Porsche Cayenne GTS Commercial

Porsche is airing a new TV commercial this January during the NFL playoffs. The commercial features the new Cayenne GTS!
The new Cayenne GTS is the latest addition to Porsche’s legacy of performance and race-bred engineering. The GTS transfers Porsche’s six decades of racing experience to the streets.
