If You’re A Porsche Fan, You Just Can’t Miss This Epic Drag Race Between Seven Different 911 Turbo Generations!
Mat Watson from ‘Carwow’ is raising the bar with every drag race and how! His latest video was a drag race between seven different cars; well, seven generations of the same car, to be precise. He brought to the drag strip seven different generations of one of the most iconic sports cars to have graced the earth - the Porsche 911. All of these are the turbo models, starting with the 930, the 964, the 993, the 996, the 997, the 991, and the 992.
Drag Race: Ferrari 488 Pista vs Lamborghini Huracan STO vs Porsche 911 GT3
Mat Watson from ‘Carwow’ is back with yet another drag race involving three supercars that have loyal fan bases of their own. But, no matter how desirable, this race is a tad bit stale. We had the same results with whatever kind of race that happened. Now, it’s not necessary that every race has to tug our heartstrings or give us the adrenaline rush, right? But, then why did we cover it? Well, the cars are eye candies and sound amazing. That’s it!
Italy Vs Germany: A Porsche 911 Turbo S Drag Races a Lamborghini Huracan EVO
Another day, another series of drag races on the way. This one comes from DragTimes and pits a Porsche 911 (992) Turbo S versus a Lamborghini Huracan EVO. Two very different formulas for similar levels of performance. It’s just a classic, best out of three drag racing between two fast machines that are completely stock. Here’s what happened.
The Porsche 911’s Race Against A Dodge Challenger Hellcat Is Nothing But A Glorified Squash!
Sam from ‘Sam CarLegion’ staged yet another drag and roll race, but this time, with two of the most intimidating cars to grace the drag strip – the Porsche 911 GT3 RS and the Dodge Challenger Hellcat Widebody. Both these cars are intimidating in their own ways, but this is one of those rare times where they’ve crossed paths and have come face-to-face. While it may have been an exciting exercise, to begin with, the race was nothing more than a glorified squash. The Dodge had its moments, but it had no chance of winning any race. But sometimes such squashes are exciting, right?
Superbike vs Supercars: Watch A Ducati Challenge A Porsche And A McLaren To A Drag Race
This video from the past deserves to get attention even today. It’s a drag race between two supercars and one superbike. The contenders were the Porsche 918 Spyder, the McLaren P1, and the Ducati 1199 Superleggera. The folks at Autocar pit these three against each other for a standing mile drag race. Believe it or not, the difference between the winner and the loser was 0.38 seconds. Mind-blowing, isn’t it?
This Tesla Model X Plaid vs Porsche 911 Turbo S Drag Race Is Modern-Day David vs Goliath, But With A Twist!
Brooks recently got a Tesla Model X Plaid on his YouTube channel and did some quarter-mile sprints to see how quick it is. As expected, it scored some pretty good numbers. In its best run, it recorded a 0-60 mph time of 2.36 seconds and a quarter-mile time of 9.754 seconds.
To show that might over other cars, the Model X Plaid went up against the 992 Porsche 911 Turbo S. There’s no way the German is winning, and that shows how powerful and insane the Model X Plaid is. How often do you see a Porsche 911 Turbo S enter a race as the underdog?
The World’s Top Three Quickest Production Sedans Get Together On The Drag Strip For A Meet-And-Greet
After pitting the Lucid Air against the Tesla Model S Plaid and the Porsche Taycan individually, Brooks from DragTimes finally got these most powerful production sedans together to the drag strip to see how they fare against each other. It won’t take a rocket scientist to figure out who will win this race, but this is the first time we’re seeing the three EVs get together. This right here, people, is the future!
Watch The Lucid Air Rip The Porsche Taycan Turbo S To Shreds In This Drag Race
Brooks from DragTimes pit two most powerful production EVs last month – the Tesla Model S Plaid versus the Lucid Air. It was very much anticipated because the Plaid finally had an EV-rival with similar specs. Now, the Lucid Air Performance Dream Edition takes on the third most powerful production EV on sale today – the Porsche Taycan Turbo S. The Taycan Turbo S, despite being the German’s flagship EV and being costlier than the Lucid Air and the Tesla Model S Plaid, made over 350 horses less than its rival here and wasn’t any lighter either. So, as expected, the Lucid tore through the Air in all the races they took part in.
Watch A Ford Mustang Mach 1 Try To Cha-Cha-Cha With A Porsche Cayman GT4 And A 718
The ‘Carwow’ team created a nice ensemble of three cars with very different dynamics. First up, there’s the Porsche Cayman GT4 that features a naturally aspirated flat-six and a manual gearbox. Then there’s a Cayman 718 with a smaller turbocharged four-cylinder mill, but paired to an automatic gearbox. And, then there’s a powerful naturally-but-heavy aspirated V-8 from the Ford Mustang Mach 1, also with a manual gearbox. Which car do you think has the higher chances of winning here?
Drag Race: McLaren 765LT Vs Porsche 991 Turbo S
Drag racing never gets old and Carwow has given us another epic YouTube video, between two very quick cars. This time, it’s the McLaren 765LT and Porsche 911 (992) Turbo S that are squaring off against one another. It’s mid-engine versus rear-engine, rear-wheel-drive versus all-wheel-drive, and a flat-plane V-8 versus a flat-six. Find out who wins, below.
The Model S Plaid Once Again Proves That You Don’t Need A Zillion Dollar Hypercar To Do Breakneck Speed
We really do live in some strange times. I mean who would have thought about a decade ago that a family sedan could give zillion-dollar hypercars a run for their money. Back then most people would associate an EV with milk floats or those buggies or golf carts you see at a fancy resort. The Tesla Model S Plaid is a far cry from those days and Tesla is responsible for initiating a paradigm shift in the auto industry.
Watch The Porsche 911 Turbo S Step Out Of Its Comfort Zone And Challenge The GT2 RS And The GT3
The folks at Carwow came up with yet another interesting mix of cars for a series of races. The contenders this time were three Porsches, namely, the 992 911 Turbo S, the 991 911 GT2 RS, and the 992 911 GT3. The Turbo S and the GT2 RS have twin turbos, unlike the naturally aspirated GT3, but only the Turbo S had an all-wheel-drive system here. With so many factors playing a role, which car do you think will come out with bragging rights?
Watch A Porsche Panamera Take On A BMW M5 CS, An AMG E63, And An Audi RS6 In A Drag Race
Mat Watson and his team from ’Carwow’ got four cars to the drag strip for an all-German drag race. The contenders included the Audi RS6, the BMW M5 CS, the Mercedes-AMG E63, and the Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid. All the cars feature V-8 engines and two turbochargers. The Porsche goes in the races with a slight advantage, thanks to the electric motor assisting the engine and helping it make the most horses here. But, it’s a double-edged sword as the motor and batteries make it the heaviest. Which car do you think will dominate the races?
Drag Race: Porsche 911 Carrera vs BMW M3 Competition - Which Car Will Claim Supremacy?
The Porsche 911 is known to be a driver’s car. Lately, we’ve seen various 911 models dominate the drag strip as well. But, is the base 911 Carrera also in the same league? Mat Watson from Carwow finds out by pitting it against the BMW M3 Competition for a series of straight-line races. The BMW makes 125 horses more than the Porsche, but it is also almost 500 pounds heavier. Which car do you think will win?
Can The Lamborghini Huracan Performante Beat A Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT And A Tuned Nissan GT-R?
When you talk about a supercar taking on a family SUV, you know who would win. But, when the SUV in question is a 640-horsepower Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT, things aren’t so obvious anymore. ‘Carwow’ uploaded a video of a Lamborghini Huracan Performante taking on a Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT and a surprise star next, which is a tuned Nissan GT-R. Do you think the Lamborghini would’ve made short work of both its rivals?
This Porsche GT2 RS Shows The Lamborghini Huracan STO Who The Real Boss Is!
The Porsche GT2 RS needs no introduction. The little beast has flattened a lot of supercars on the drag strip and the track in the past. Now, the car has come around again to add another name to its death note. The victim it has chosen this time is the Lamborghini Huracan STO! Daniel Abt uploaded a video of the same on his YouTube channel and it’s definitely worth watching.
The Porsche GT2 RS’ Drag-Strip Dominance Is Ended By A Ducati Panigale V4 S!
If there’s any car in Tesla Model S Plaid recent times that’s been able to maintain a Tesla Model S Plaid-like dominance on the drag strip, it is the Porsche GT2 RS. The GT2 RS is quite fast, but it has been handed a rare loss here by a superbike. The superbike in question is the Ducati Panigale V4 S and it has humbled the GT2 RS in this race conducted by Daniel Abt. Where does the Porsche go from here?
