I Bet You Didn’t Know About the Porsche B32 - A Porsche-Built 911-Powered Van!
From the 356 and 911 to the 959 and 918 Spyder, Porsche is responsible for some of the greatest sports cars ever built. The German company has been successful in crossover and hybrid markets too, and it recently joined the EV segment with the cool Taycan as well.
What’s more, Porsche also developed some of the most successful race cars of all times, including the 917, 935, 962, and 919 Hybrid. But I bet you didn’t know that Porsche also built a van! Meet the B32, the 911-powered Volkswagen T3 van that Porsche created in the mid-1980s.
2021 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid "RS" Coupe
The internet has been buzzing with rumours about a racy Porsche Panamera “Lion” that packs between 760 and 800+ horsepower taking the Nurburgring by storm. It has been reported that the test prototype packed a boosted version of the S-E Hybrid powertrain found in the regular Panamera, while some said it relied on an ICE-only powertrain. All this chatter was immediately followed by rumors about a hotter Porsche Cayenne Turbo S-E Hybrid said to wear the “RS” badge; in fact, some outlets out there are forwarding the “GT” lettering instead, but that’s not the most relevant aspect for the moment.
What got us really interested has to do with the set of pictures sent in by our spy photographers. The photos show a camouflage-free Porsche Cayenne Coupe test prototype of sorts that wears a flashy body colour and contrasting brake calipers. What made us interest pique even more is the rear bumper/exhaust setup configuration, which sports a dual-pipe arrangement in the center unseen so far on a road-going Cayenne. Oh, and those rectangular side-positioned exhausts? They’re fake.

The new Porsche Taycan is one of the most teased and highly-anticipated debuts of 2019. So Porsche fan or not, you’ve been expecting this moment for a while now and you can finally enjoy it through a live stream of the Taycan’s premiere.
Porsche’s first-ever all-electric sports car could represent today what the 911 meant back in the day. So, there’s no surprise that Porsche is broadcasting the model’s premiere on three continents simultaneously. Those three places are not randomly selected. In fact, Porsche is targeting its main markets, namely Europe, the U.S., and China.
In Europe, the Taycan will be revealed at a solar farm in Neuhardenberg, near Berlin. Niagara Falls will be the venue selected for the EV’s U.S. launch, while in China, the Taycan debuts at the wind farm on Pingtan Island, which sits some 150 kilometers off the city of Fuzhou, in the province of Fujian. There’s even greater symbolism to these locations that you might have expected - the solar farm represents solar power, the wind farm wind power, and the Niagara Falls - you guessed it; hydro power.
Porsche says the launch event will last for about half an hour. Former Formula 1 race driver and Porsche brand ambassador Mark Webber will host the even from Berlin. You also don’t have to worry about the language barrier, since Porsche is streaming the event in five languages - English, Mandarin, Spanish, French, and German. Once the streaming is completed, the world premiere will be available as a video on demand.
What we can tell you at this point about the Porsche Taycan is that it will feature an interior concept that’s rather new for Porsche. Gone is the multitude of buttons and in are up to five screens. Now, it might sound overwhelming, but there’s a strong logical backbone behind Porsche’s use of touchscreens inside the Taycan, so drivers and passengers won’t get confused. Moreover, the cabin has modern-twist cues reminescent of the original 911, and these do a good job in toning down the ultra-modern feel.
What Porsche’s officials also stated in the past has to do with the Taycan’s pricing, which is expected to slot between that of the Cayenne SUV and the Panamera. That means that in the U.S., the Taycan could start at around $75,000, more or less. That will be the base price, obviously, so expect heftier pricing for higher-echelon versions of the EV. If you’re looking to secure your Taycan slot, then you should know that Porsche is accepting a $2,500 deposit.
When launched, the Taycan will offer 605 electric horsepower via two permanent-magnet synchronous motors - one for each axle. The magic behind these two motors is actually derived from Le Mans, as Porsche used the know-how it acquired with the 919 LMP1 Hybrid when developing the Taycan’s powertrain; which, by the way, will also recuperate (some of) the heat energy generated during braking. Elsewhere, two battery packs are rumoured to be offered - 80 kWh and 95 kWh. Regardless of what you pick, the Taycan will offer 800-volt fast-charging capabilities, meaning that you’ll be able to replenish the range with 60 extra miles in just four minutes.
2020 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid tops the range with 670 horsepower
Porsche has revealed its top-of-the-range SUV offerings, in the form of the new 2020 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid and 2020 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid Coupe. These are not only the most powerful Cayenne models ever, but also the quickest too. They also come pretty close to fully loaded in terms of optional extras and, since both are hybrids, the fact that their battery pack is some 30 percent larger than that of any electrified Cayenne previously sold, the extra all-electric range is also welcome.
The Porsche Cayenne Coupé Has Finally Been Confirmed
It’s official. After hearing all the rumors surrounding the coupé version of the Cayenne, we finally have the answer. Autocar has learned from the Porsche boss, Oliver Blume, that a Cayenne Coupé is more than just hot-talk, and we might see it hit the roads at some point in 2019. Is it going to be a practical car or just a desirable asset with a heavy depreciation?
What is the appeal of a really hardcore performance sedan? There are a dozen valid reasons, and most car guys will not need much persuading to get on-board. Killer pace starts from the new Panamera Turbo’s projected 3.2-second blastoff to 60 mph.
The ingredients for the recipe are deceptively simple: big power all over the rev dial, rear-drive bias strongly preferred, and a manual box unless the automatic is absolutely state of the art.
The last and least important part? Those rear doors. Buyers of the hottest full-size performance sedans typically do not mind a tiny back seat. After all, the best possible passengers back there will probably be adoring ladies in thousand-dollar outfits.
So, megalux atmosphere back there is more important than true comfort and versatility. After all, you cannot take three beautiful and giggling best friends for a windows-down, radio-up spin in the hills without a swanky coupe-like sedan.
Even better is a stomping acceleration soundtrack and real panache outside the hottest bars and restaurants. No longer just Euro exclusives: all the cars on this list can be bought or ordered right here in the U.S. for 2013 or 2014.

Both Chevrolet and Porsche have already confirmed the existence of the SS performance sedan and the 918 Spyder supercar respectively, but the details offered on both of these models are quite limited. Thank goodness for the internet because now we can tell you more about both models due to some new details that have popped up online!
As many probably know, the future Chevrolet SS will be built on the same architecture as the Camaro - an architecture that has already been thoroughly criticized for weighing too much. Chevrolet hopes to change that by working hard on reducing the total weight, a measure that will improve the car’s fuel efficiency, performance, and handling. In order to reduce the weight, Chevrolet will use high-strength steel, electric power steering, and lightweight suspension and interior components. The future SS will also benefit from new safety features like front-collision and blind-spot alert systems.
As for the Porsche 918 Spyder, recent tests proved the supercar can hit a top speed of 200 mph and can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in sub-3-second. Yep, that’s enough of an update for us!
