The price listed for the XLT and Lariat trims is with the Standard Range battery. Opt for the Extended Range battery and you’ll end up shelling a whopping $19,500 extra for the XLT and $10,000 for the Lariat! The battery is $10,000, but you’ll have to add the XLT 312A Equipment package as well, costing $9,500. There’s no such add-on on the Lariat, hence the flat $10,000 increase.

What’s The Ford F-150 About?

Ford rolled out the F-150 Lightning last year and it seems quite impressive at the onset. The range isn’t too impressive, but that’s the issue with any EV today, not just Ford. Automakers are trying to fix this, but when it comes to trucks, it will take a long time for things to get better. The F-150 Lightning is offered in three trims – XLT, Lariat, and Platinum – and a word trim called Lightning Pro.} Irrespective of the trim you choose, you can have it only in the SuperCrew body style.

This F-150 Lightning comes with a dual-motor setup and a four-wheel-drive system as standard on all trims. There are two battery options on offer – Standard Range and Extended Range. The Pro model comes with Standard Range as the only option, whereas the Platinum trim comes with the Extended Range pack as the only option. The other two can be had with either of them.

With the Standard Range battery pack, the F-150 Lightning will churn out 426 horses and 775 pound-feet of twist. The range here is limited to 230 miles on a full charge. With the Extended Range battery, the horsepower increases to 563 ponies whereas the torque remains the same. The range here is rated at 300 miles.

On the outside, the truck comes with a full-width LED strip and a stylized, closed grille up front. It rides on 22-inch wheels in the top trim, and comes with a 9.6 kW Pro Power onboard generator to power the tools. The towing and payload capacities, vary depending on the battery pack you opt for. The F-150 Lightning can tow up to 10,000 pounds and haul up to 2,000 pounds, but you can’t have the best of both in one model.
