Ford revealed the F-150 Lightning in 2021 and tried to check as many boxes as possible. While it seems like an all-rounded truck, the range came under scrutiny, especially when towing. Ford gave us all the details, but not the complete pricing. But, now the F-150 Lightning’s configurator has gone live and we know how much it costs. The truck starts at under $40,000 and goes over $90,000. This is without any additional options.

How Much Does The Ford F-150 Lightning Cost With Credits and Rebates?

We've made an article on how the Ford F-150 Lightning can be the cheapest full-size truck you can buy today. Four states in the U.S. offer incentives over and above $7,500 federal tax credit. They are Colorado, Vermont, Oregon, and Maine.

Colorado offers an incentive of $3,500 if the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) is between 8,500- and 10,000 pounds. With the full federal tax credit factored in, it can cost you as low as $28,974 before destination and $30,669 including it.

Vermont offers an incentive of $4,000 if the price of your EV is less than $50,000, which the F-150 Lightning Pro is. The F-150 Lightning Pro in Vermont can cost as low as $28,474 before destination and $30,169 including.

Oregon offers two rebate programs, one wherein you get a $2,500 rebate if you purchase a plug-in hybrid or an electric vehicle, and $2,500 if you buy a vehicle with a battery capacity of more than 10 kWh. Since the F-150 Lightning checks both these boxes, $5,000 is slashed off the base price. Factor in the full federal tax credit and the Lightning Pro can cost you $27,474 before destination and $29,169 including.

The F-150 Lightning is the cheapest in Maine. The state offers a $2,000 rebate to anyone on purchase of an EV, and $5,500 for qualified low-income customers. This effectively brings down the price to $26,974 and $28,669 before and after destination, respectively.

What’s The Ford F-150 About?

Ford rolled out the F-150 Lightning last year and it seems quite impressive at the onset. The range isn’t too impressive, but that’s the issue with any EV today, not just Ford. Automakers are trying to fix this, but when it comes to trucks, it will take a long time for things to get better. The F-150 Lightning is offered in three trims – XLT, Lariat, and Platinum – and a word trim called Lightning Pro.} Irrespective of the trim you choose, you can have it only in the SuperCrew body style.

This F-150 Lightning comes with a dual-motor setup and a four-wheel-drive system as standard on all trims. There are two battery options on offer – Standard Range and Extended Range. The Pro model comes with Standard Range as the only option, whereas the Platinum trim comes with the Extended Range pack as the only option. The other two can be had with either of them.

With the Standard Range battery pack, the F-150 Lightning will churn out 426 horses and 775 pound-feet of twist. The range here is limited to 230 miles on a full charge. With the Extended Range battery, the horsepower increases to 563 ponies whereas the torque remains the same. The range here is rated at 300 miles.

On the outside, the truck comes with a full-width LED strip and a stylized, closed grille up front. It rides on 22-inch wheels in the top trim, and comes with a 9.6 kW Pro Power onboard generator to power the tools. The towing and payload capacities, vary depending on the battery pack you opt for. The F-150 Lightning can tow up to 10,000 pounds and haul up to 2,000 pounds, but you can’t have the best of both in one model.

On the inside, there’s a 15.5-inch touchscreen system, 12-inch digital instrument cluster, 18-speaker B&O sound system, etc. in the top-spec model. If you’re willing to shell for options, you can even have things like leather seats, Max Recline seats, Interior Work Surface, etc. here.
