2020 Ram 1500 Built to Serve: Nautical Theme
Back in November 2019, Ram announced that it will produce a series of 5 special-edition 1500 pickup trucks, with each one representing a branch of U.S. Armed Forces – Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard. Called the ‘Built to Serve trucks, the company has now launched the second installment of the series; this time to honor the Navy. This Nautical-inspired theme will see 2,000 trucks being built in Ceramic Gray and Patriot Blue shades.
2020 Ram 1500 Built to Serve Edition
RAM’s penchant for rolling out special edition trucks has paved the way for the truck brand to introduce a new run of special edition models that pay tribute to the five branches of the United States military. The special edition trucks fall under the RAM 1500 Built To Serve Edition name. Each of the five armed services — Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Marines — will receive their own special edition treatment. It’s unclear which of the five will get rolled out first, but the specific launches will take place every three months, beginning next week when the truck brand hosts its own Veterans Day celebration on November 11.
2019 RAM 1500 Rebel Off the Grid Concept by Mopar
Aftermarket companies love SEMA. It is the one hot spot that garners attention from all over the world and allows aftermarket companies to highlight their creations without worrying about automakers stealing the limelight. Mopar, one of the biggest aftermarket parts suppliers (and one that is backed by Dodge,) is gracing the show with its presence. The company has worked on two trucks, one being the Dodge Lowliner Concept, and the other one, the Ram Rebel 1500 OTG. OTG, by the way, stands for Off The Grid. Unlike the Lowliner, the Rebel 1500 OTG is a practical concept and could very well make its way into production. Will Ram consider making it a mainstream model?
2020 Ram 1500 Classic Mohave Sand Package
Ram sure knows how to keep its product portfolio active. Lately, a lot of our attention has been on the 2020 Ram 1500, which comes with the third-gen EcoDiesel engine and also created a record of sorts by claiming the Top Safety Pick+ award. Logically, this would mean a drop in the sales for the 2019 model. However, Ram is keeping the 2019 1500 active by launching new packages and special editions of the truck. This time, we get the new Mojave Sand Package that’s offered on the 2019 Ram 1500 Classic Warlock. The truck comes with a host of aesthetic changes to distinguish it from the standard Ram 1500. But, is it worth buying?
2020 Ram 1500 Limited Black Edition
The 2020 Ram 1500 Limited Black Edition is a limited-edition version of the latest-generation Ram 1500 pickup truck. Based on the range-topping Limited trim, the Black Edition is exactly what the name suggests. It’s painted black, it features body-colored bumpers, and replaces all chrome trim with black inserts. It’s probably the meanest Ram 1500 you can buy aside from the Rebel. What’s more, it combines both sportiness and luxury, something the Rebel trim can’t offer. The 2020 Ram Heavy Duty Night Edition is a special-edition version of the current line of Ram Heavy Duty haulers. Available on the Big Horn and Laramie trims, the Night Edition enhances the personalization potential of this popular truck. Unveiled alongside the 2020 Ram 1500 Limited Black Edition, the Heavy Duty Night Edition goes on sale in the fourth quarter of 2019.
2019 Ram 1500 Classic Warlock
These days, custom pickup trucks are everywhere, with interested buyers offered a plethora of choices both from the aftermarket and straight from the factory. However, 40 years ago, it was far less common to get a bespoke aesthetic direct from the manufacturer. In that sense, the original Warlock pickup broke the mold, and now Ram is taking the nameplate off the shelf for a fresh special edition iteration of the 1500.
2019 Ram 1500 Big Horn
Ram just dropped the new fifth-generation 1500 pickup truck for the 2019 model year, and it’s looking better than ever. Redesigned from the ground up, the 1500 once again hits dealers in a number of different trim levels and configurations. Higher in the range, the pickup can be had in all manner of upscale luxury and features, but the Big Horn, offered as the second model above the entry-level Tradesman, offers everything you need and nothing you don’t. 2019 Ram 1500 Atulux by Aznom Automotive
Aznom Automotive has come up with a doozy of a creation. Using a Ram 1500 as a base vehicle, the Italian coachbuilder has transformed what is a capable pickup truck into something straight out of the Black Mirror. The creation still wears the face of a Ram 1500, but the vehicle’s profile is anything but a pickup. Instead, it’s been transformed into a cross between a pickup and a sedan, a “pick-dan” for lack of a better — and far more sensible — term. The monstrosity carries the name Atulux, which literally stands for “All-Terrain Utility Luxury.” Best have a strong stomach for this one because, in addition to looking the way it does, it also costs more than $250,000, or roughly the equivalent of a fleet of actual Ram 1500s.
2019 Ram 1500 North Edition
With winter on the horizon, Ram is gearing up for the season with a new special edition 1500 called the North Edition. The limited-run full-sized pickup is on the receiving end of a slew of upgrades, covering the exterior and interior, as well as the performance capabilities of the pickup. The Ram 1500 North Edition is already on the market. Prices start at $45,890, not including the $1,695 destination fee.
2018 Ram 1500 Big Horn Low Down Concept
The 2018 SEMA Auto Show played host to a pair of custom-tuned Ram 1500 pickup trucks, including one that goes by the name “Low Down.” Based on the 1500 Big Horn trim level, the Low Down is what happens when you raid Mopar’s parts bin for equipment that can be used to give the 1500 Big Horn a more “slammed-to-the-streets” styling direction. It doesn’t do anything to emphasize the 1500 Big Horn’s masculinity, but it does give it a new urban look that plays well in the underground street racer culture. All it needs is a little nitro boost — perhaps machine guns, too? — and it’ll fit right into the kind of cars you normally see in the Fast and Furious franchise.
2019 Ram 1500 Rebel 12
Gone are the days when trucks were designed for one of two things– off-roading or being put to work, both of which meant there were next to no creature comforts whatsoever. Ram has announced the 2019 Ram Rebel 1500 12 edition, and it feels like nothing short of a luxurious truck. Ram has a lot of new technology offerings along with its natural rough-and-tough characteristics. Has Ram hit the bullseye with the new Rebel 12?
2019 Ram 1500 Off-Road Edition by GME
German Motors & Engineering has released a tuning package for the Ram 1500, called the “Off-Road Edition.” The package gives the American pickup truck a comprehensive overhaul, covering the exterior, engine, and suspension. GME’s objective is to give the RAM 1500 the kind of off-road versatility you normally don’t see in a car in Germany. To that extent, the tuner did as good a job as you’d expect from a company that knows what it’s doing.
2019 Ram 1500 eTorque
While I am not convinced that fuel efficiency is the decisive factor when choosing between trucks, RAM did make the biggest step in the fuel efficiency direction with the new 2019 Ram 1500 eTorque. We saw it some time ago, but the EPA wasn’t ready to publish fuel-economy values for the trucks equipped with the new technology. In truth, I can only describe as a mild hybrid.
Now, the EPA has revealed the numbers for the V-6 eTorque and V-8 eTorque Ram 1500 and the numbers are good. With two-wheel drive, a 3.6-liter V-6 engine, and the eTorque system, the 2019 Ram 1500 can return 20 mpg in the city, 25 mpg on the highway, and 22 mpg combined. The V-8 powered model, on the other hand, is a bit more thirsty, but still, it will return 17/23/19, respectively. Bear in mind; it uses a big 5.7-liter, V-8.
