Ten years since Ram became a standalone car brand, the automaker’s parent company, Fiat Chrysler Automobile, is celebrating that milestone by introducing a special edition 1500 called the Limited Longhorn 10th Anniversary Edition.

The special edition Ram 1500 is the latest in a long line of limited-run trucks that the automaker has released this year. It’s based on the new Limited Longhorn trim that effectively takes place of the Laramie Longhorn.

What can we expect from the 2021 Ram 1500 Limited Longhorn 10th Anniversary Edition?

If you’re a fan of trucks that double as luxury cars or vice versa, then you should give the 2021 Ram 1500 Limited Longhorn 10th Anniversary Edition a serious look. Upgrades and exclusive touches abound in this special edition truck. The exterior, for example, comes with a Limited Longhorn 10th Anniversary badge on the tailgate and a new set of 20-inch wheels that are available in different finishes.

These additions don’t add up to other than recognize the truck’s stature as a special edition model, but they do go nicely with the chrome-slat grille that all Ram 1500 Limited Longhorn models are equipped with.

Chrome bumpers are also included in the setup of the new trim, as are the tow hooks and side steps, the latter of which you can replace by a powered setup that’s optional. The rest of the Ram 1500 Limited Longhorn 10th Anniversary Edition’s exterior comes in standard form.

Trucks, especially the rugged ones that are more at home in roads less traveled, shouldn’t have cabins that are dripping in luxury refinement. And yet, the special edition 1500’s interior not only features premium materials like wood, metal, and fine leather, but they’re all over the place, too. The dashboard, for example, is wrapped in fine leather. The door bolsters are dressed in suede. Then there are the leather bolster seat inserts that also happen to carry Laser Filigree detail. The shifter center cap is finished in Gloss Black, too, with a silver stripe added for good measure.

A brushed-zinc antique badge flush with a console lid is also included in the interior treatment. All these exclusive touches are housed in a cabin that wears a Mountain Brown color with hammered metal aluminum liquid graphite accents spread throughout.

And since this special edition 1500 is based on the Limited Longhorn trim that replaces the Laramie Longhorn, prospective customers will also receive any of these bits: an antique pocket watch, hand-tooled leather cowboy boots, or a horseman’s saddle. It’s excess sitting on top of excess. No one’s complaining, though.

Are there any upgrades to either of the two engines?

There are no engine upgrades to speak of as far as the 2021 Ram 1500 Limited Longhorn 10th Anniversary Edition is concerned. That said, the truck’s standard 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine is one of two engines available in the special edition 1500. The other is a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V-6 unit. Final Thoughts

The Ram 1500 is one of the best-selling models in the U.S., and for good reason. Trucks have become a lot popular these days at the expense of sedans and two-door coupes. The 1500 is one of the best and most equipped trucks in the market, so if there’s a special edition version that adds luxury like you wouldn’t believe, that special edition 1500 is worth your attention. Who knows, you might end up liking for everything that it has to offer, including that oh-so-desirable special edition status. The 2021 Ram 1500 Limited Longhorn 10th Anniversary Edition has everything you want in a truck.
