In November 2019, Ram had announced a series of special ‘Built to Serve’ series of trucks to honors America’s five armed forces. The first four editions were launched over the last 15 months, and now, it’s time for the final phase that honors the coast guards. Ram will offer 1,250 packages in this installment out of the 10,000 earmarked for this series. The production for it will begin in the second quarter of 2021.

As mentioned earlier, you can have this edition with any body style and powertrain. Ram currently offers three different engine options on the 2021 1500, excluding the Hellcat V-8 on the TRX. The first one is a 3.6-liter, V-6 Pentastar that produces 305 horses and 269 pound-feet of torque. Power is sent to the wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Then there’s the 5.7-liter, V-8 HEMI engine that dishes out 410 horses and 395 pound-feet of twist. This engine is also mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox, but not the same as the one offered with the V-6. You can also have this same engine and transmission combo with an eTorque system. Finally, there’s the third-gen EcoDiesel engine, which is a 3.0-liter, V-6 turbocharged mill that churns out 260 ponies and 480 pound-feet of twist. It is paired with the eight-speed TorqueFlite transmission.
