It wouldn’t be wrong to say that Ram brought luxuriousness to the pickup truck segment. Take the 1500, for instance. The higher trims are plush enough to put similarly priced sedans and SUVs to shame. This has even forced companies like Chevy and GMC, and Ford to up the ante and come up with premium offerings.

Ram knows this, too, and isn’t very modest about it. To commemorate the 1500 Limited truck, the epitome of luxuriousness in the Ram 1500 lineup, the automaker has introduced a new 10th Anniversary Edition. The way Ram hyped it, it seemed like the truck will wear a big sticker price; but, it comes at a premium of just $3,000 over the standard Limited model, which isn’t too bad.

What’s Special About The 2022 Ram 1500 Limited 10th Anniversary Edition

Since this special edition is all about luxury, most of the changes are on the inside. Ram has made use of real wood, metal, and leather elements all around the cabin. Upping the levels of plushness it already offers on the standard Limited trim, the Ram 1500 Limited 10th Anniversary Edition comes with:

-* Quilted leather-wrapped seats and door inserts

-* Suede headliner

-* Unique detailing on A-pillar and visors

-* A 10th Anniversary badge on the center console

-* New unique graphics on the instrument cluster

-* 19-speaker premium sound system

-* Metal pedal kit

-* Unique shifter center cap

The interior also features a new Indigo/Sea Salt Grey theme along with Aluminum Litho bezels.

On the outside, the changes and additions aren’t too drastic. Since the Limited trim is offered only in the Crew Cab configuration, it’s no different for this special edition either. Ram hasn’t mentioned anything about the truck bed, but we believe it will be available with the 5’7-foot bed as well as the 6’4-foot bed.

What Powers The 2022 Ram 1500 Limited 10th Anniversary Edition?

The 10th Anniversary Edition 1500 will be available with two different engine options - the 5.7-liter V-8 with eTorque mill, and the 3.0-liter EcoDiesel engine.

The 5.7-liter, V-8 HEMI engine churns out 410 horses and 395 pound-feet of torque. It is mated to an eight-speed TorqueFlite automatic gearbox and can be had with either a two-wheel- or a four-wheel-drive layout. It features an eTorque mild-hybrid system that adds another 130 pound-feet of torque. The maximum towing capacity is rated at 12,750 pounds.

As for the other option, it is the third-gen V-6 EcoDiesel engine that displaces at three liters. It puts out 260 ponies and 480 pound-feet of twist. Power is sent to the wheels via an eight-speed TorqueFlite transmission here as well. It is a rather responsive engine since it comes with an additional 20 horses and 60 pound-feet of torque over the second-gen EcoDiesel, and also features a water-cooled turbocharger with variable geometry that helps respond better to your throttle inputs. The maximum towing capacity is rated at 12,560 pounds.

How Much Will The Special Edition Truck Cost?

The 2022 Ram 1500 Limited 10th Anniversary Edition is priced at $60,175 plus a $1,675 destination. For the stuff that’s offered, the pricing isn’t too bad. Such commemorative editions tend to cost quite a bit, but this is a premium of only $2,825 over the two-wheel-drive Ram 1500 Limited with the 5’7-foot box.

There’s no word on how many examples will be built, so it isn’t a limited edition, per se. Perhaps, it will be available for six months or a year, depending on the popularity.

When Will It Arrive?

Ram has said that the 1500 Limited 10th Anniversary Edition will go on sale in the third quarter of 2021.
