2020 Ram 1500 Built to Serve Edition
RAM’s penchant for rolling out special edition trucks has paved the way for the truck brand to introduce a new run of special edition models that pay tribute to the five branches of the United States military. The special edition trucks fall under the RAM 1500 Built To Serve Edition name. Each of the five armed services — Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Marines — will receive their own special edition treatment. It’s unclear which of the five will get rolled out first, but the specific launches will take place every three months, beginning next week when the truck brand hosts its own Veterans Day celebration on November 11.
2019 RAM 1500 Rebel Off the Grid Concept by Mopar
Aftermarket companies love SEMA. It is the one hot spot that garners attention from all over the world and allows aftermarket companies to highlight their creations without worrying about automakers stealing the limelight. Mopar, one of the biggest aftermarket parts suppliers (and one that is backed by Dodge,) is gracing the show with its presence. The company has worked on two trucks, one being the Dodge Lowliner Concept, and the other one, the Ram Rebel 1500 OTG. OTG, by the way, stands for Off The Grid. Unlike the Lowliner, the Rebel 1500 OTG is a practical concept and could very well make its way into production. Will Ram consider making it a mainstream model?

Ram sure knows how to keep its product portfolio active. Lately, a lot of our attention has been on the 2020 Ram 1500, which comes with the third-gen EcoDiesel engine and also created a record of sorts by claiming the Top Safety Pick+ award. Logically, this would mean a drop in the sales for the 2019 model. However, Ram is keeping the 2019 1500 active by launching new packages and special editions of the truck. This time, we get the new Mojave Sand Package that’s offered on the 2019 Ram 1500 Classic Warlock. The truck comes with a host of aesthetic changes to distinguish it from the standard Ram 1500. But, is it worth buying?
2020 Ram 1500 Limited Black Edition
The 2020 Ram 1500 Limited Black Edition is a limited-edition version of the latest-generation Ram 1500 pickup truck. Based on the range-topping Limited trim, the Black Edition is exactly what the name suggests. It’s painted black, it features body-colored bumpers, and replaces all chrome trim with black inserts. It’s probably the meanest Ram 1500 you can buy aside from the Rebel. What’s more, it combines both sportiness and luxury, something the Rebel trim can’t offer. Companies in this segment generally tend to have many diesel engine options and from the looks of it, there’s no stopping yet. On that note, Ram has launched its third-gen EcoDiesel engine in the 2020 Ram 1500 pickup trucks. This engine will be available across the stable in all configurations, but does it get any better than the second-generation EcoDiesel?
RAM Got Caught Pushing the Hellcat-Powered Rebel TRX Across Sand Dunes
Ram was one of the first automakers to venture into the performance pick-up truck niche. Back when trucks were used for hauling cargo and were meant solely for utility, Ram decided to do something different and create a segment that perhaps didn’t even exist. Nevertheless, it intrigued the minds of enthusiasts, which in turn created an avenue for other automakers to throw in their hat and see how they fared. Fast-forward to 2019, and we can see Ram pushing its Rebel TRX through the sand dunes in this video.
Ram had to keep up with Ford and Chevy, so the time came to give the Ram 1500 a very serious update. And, a serious update is exactly what it got. And, when we say full update, we mean it is all-new with a new frame, new grille, and a completely revised interior, among other things. The fifth-gen model brings together every major selling point the truck has ever had in the best way yet it’s lighter than ever. Even the EcoDiesel V-6 got an update to deliver more power and torque while the truck can even be had with a deployable front air dam and a mild-hybrid drive system. There was a time when we had either work trucks or semi-luxury trucks, but those times have long past. Today, you can have really nice daily driver trucks, work trucks that are nice enough to double as family vehicles, and American trucks packed so full of luxury that you would swear they came straight from Germany. The 2019 Ram Laramie Longhorn is a vehicle that bridges the gap between all segments and lays down proof that you can have plenty of luxury and a workhorse at the same time. When it drinks gasoline, it can deliver as much as 410 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque while the diesel sucker can pump out 370 horsepower but a whopping 850 pound-feet of torque. That torque figure isn’t groundbreaking or segment-leading, but it’s enough to give this truck the balls to do just about anything you’d like it to do. On top of that, it has all the luxurious niceties you’d expect from a high-end vehicle, including plenty of chrome, loads of tech, and fine leather. 2019 Ram 2500 Laramie Longhorn
Even though Ram is the newest member in the truck segment (if you don’t count the years "Ram" was a model under the Dodge umbrella), it cannot be taken for granted. Given the kind of products it has in its portfolio, you will be surprised to know that the company is just nine years old. Ram is essentially a by-product of Dodge and is a fully-owned subsidiary of the FCA. Don’t mistake it to be a rookie or a newb by any means. The name might be new, but the company has been building trucks since the 1970s under the name ’Fargo trucks’ which was sold outside the United States. The 2019 Ram model sees a few changes. These trucks became an overnight sensation when Ram announced a 1,000 pound-foot of torque figure for the 3500 series. The Ram 2500 doesn’t boast that, but it still has a lot going in its favor to be deemed as a potent threat to the Blue Oval and the Bowtie.
Exclusive: Did a TopSpeed Reader Just Spot the Mythical Ramcharger?
Remember way back when in the 1970s when Dodge released a two-door SUV based on the Ram 1500 Pickup? Back then, that beast competed directly with the full-size Chevy Blazer and Ford Bronco, it came with fairly powerful V-8, four-wheel drive, and it even copied its competitors with a removable roof in the rear. Believe it or not, the Ramcharger stayed in production from 1974 to 2001, seeing two generational shifts in the process. The third generation, you’ve probably never seen, however, as it was only produced from 1999 to 2001 and was quickly killed off because, well, back then compact, fuel-efficient cars were all the craze. That model was also more modernized and lacked the tall, rugged body style of the models that preceded it.
Since then, consumers – or at least SUV fans – have begged Dodge (now Ram) to build a new three-row crossover based on the newest generation of RAM trucks. With Ford reintroducing the Bronco and Chevy the Blazer (the latter of which just doesn’t compare to the originals), it’s only appropriate that Ram finally gives in and builds a new three-row SUV that we believe will carry the iconic Ramcharger name. Up to this point, we have yet to see any prototype, let alone receive a confirmation.
