Designed for the hard-working enthusiast that needed a large truck to haul and tow stuff around, the Ram 2500 and 3500 are now offered with enhanced comfort and luxury features in Laramie Longhorn and Limited trims. Ram is now taking things up a notch with the Longhorn Ram Rodeo Edition, which adds a few extra features and technologies.

Based on the Laramie Longhorn trim, the Rodeo edition adds extra equipment you'd usually have to pay for or get as standard on the more expensive Limited trim. These add-ons enhance styling, making the Longhorn look like a Limited version, and add practicality inside the cabin through trailering technology. Engines remain standard, but the air suspension enables self-leveling when carrying goods or hauling a trailer. Find out more about it below.

What makes the Ram 2500/3500 Heavy Duty Longhorn Ram Rodeo Edition special

This feature comes standard only on the range-topping Limited model, placed just above the Laramie Longhorn trim. The Rodeo Edition also has body-colored side steps. The regular bed step was replaced by a Mopar unit, while the skid plate protection group is offered as standard.

Ram offers only a few exterior colors for this limited-edition truck. You can choose between RV Match Walnut Brown, Brilliant Black Crystal, Bright White, Pearl White, Delmonico Red, and Granite Crystal Metallic. The 2500 model comes standard with 20-inch aluminum wheels with optional painted pockets, while the dual-wheel 3500 rides on 17-inch polished wheels. Available body styles include Crew Cab and Mega Cab, in both 4x2 and 4x4 configurations.

These are the only features offered beyond the Longhorn's standard list of items, but the truck is already well-equipped. You'll enjoy premium heated and ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats, power adjustable pedals and mirrors, and the Uconnect infotainment system with the 8.4-inch touchscreen. The cargo-view camera, which is available on the Longhorn trim, comes standard on the Rodeo Edition for a clear view to align with the hitch point. The same goes for the 5th wheel/gooseneck trailer prep package, which provides a factory-installed solution for heavy trailers.

Both the 2500 and 3500 trucks come with the 6.4-liter Hemi V-8 as standard. The engine cranks out 410 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque. With this unit, the Ram 2500 has a maximum payload of 3,990 pounds and a maximum towing capability of 16,320 pounds. For the Ram 3500, these figures increase to 7,350 and 16,480 pounds, respectively.

The engine becomes more powerful in the Ram 3500, rated at 385 horses and 930 pound-feet. With this unit, the Ram 2500 has a max payload of 3,160 pounds and a max towing capacity of 17,980 pounds. The Ram 3500 hauls 6,720 and 31,210 pounds, respectively. It also delivers a best-in-class fifth-wheel towing rating of 30,000 pounds.

Drivetrain upgrades for these special-edition models include only a rear air suspension for enhanced comfort and load-leveling when hauling.

Pricing for the 2500 Ram Rodeo Edition starts from $60,790, a $6,200 premium over the Laramie Longhorn trim. The Rodeo Edition is also $2,700 more expensive than the Limited model. The 3500 Ram Rodeo retails from $71,260. That's $15,570 more than the Laramie Longhorn and $9,070 more than the Limited trim.
