2020 Ram 1500 Built to Serve Edition
RAM’s penchant for rolling out special edition trucks has paved the way for the truck brand to introduce a new run of special edition models that pay tribute to the five branches of the United States military. The special edition trucks fall under the RAM 1500 Built To Serve Edition name. Each of the five armed services — Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Marines — will receive their own special edition treatment. It’s unclear which of the five will get rolled out first, but the specific launches will take place every three months, beginning next week when the truck brand hosts its own Veterans Day celebration on November 11.
2019 RAM 1500 Rebel Off the Grid Concept by Mopar
Aftermarket companies love SEMA. It is the one hot spot that garners attention from all over the world and allows aftermarket companies to highlight their creations without worrying about automakers stealing the limelight. Mopar, one of the biggest aftermarket parts suppliers (and one that is backed by Dodge,) is gracing the show with its presence. The company has worked on two trucks, one being the Dodge Lowliner Concept, and the other one, the Ram Rebel 1500 OTG. OTG, by the way, stands for Off The Grid. Unlike the Lowliner, the Rebel 1500 OTG is a practical concept and could very well make its way into production. Will Ram consider making it a mainstream model?
2018 Ram 1500 Big Horn Low Down Concept
The 2018 SEMA Auto Show played host to a pair of custom-tuned Ram 1500 pickup trucks, including one that goes by the name “Low Down.” Based on the 1500 Big Horn trim level, the Low Down is what happens when you raid Mopar’s parts bin for equipment that can be used to give the 1500 Big Horn a more “slammed-to-the-streets” styling direction. It doesn’t do anything to emphasize the 1500 Big Horn’s masculinity, but it does give it a new urban look that plays well in the underground street racer culture. All it needs is a little nitro boost — perhaps machine guns, too? — and it’ll fit right into the kind of cars you normally see in the Fast and Furious franchise.
2016 Ram Macho Power Wagon
FCA has pulled out all the stops for the 2016 SEMA show. Its Jeep division brought the CJ66, Dodge brought the Durango Shaker and Shakedown Challenger, and Ram has injected testosterone into its Power Wagon. Meet the Macho Power Wagon Concept – a one-off truck built to showcase several Mopar concept pieces that might one day become available through FCA’s dealership network.
Ram started off with a 2017 Power Wagon and added quite a number of parts. Much of the focus is on the cargo bed where Ram is debuting its RamRack system. The adjustable rear rack allows for a wide range of hauling and tie-down options. When not in use, the rack slides under the sail panel tucked behind the cab.
Of course, it’s hard to miss the huge wheels and tires. The Power Wagon has an impressive four-inch lift to clear these 37-inch Nitto Trail Grappler MT tires mounted on 18-inch beadlock wheels. Custom fender flares keep off-road debris kicked up by the tires from scratching the bespoke Macho Mango paint job. Yes, Macho Mango is the color name. Don’t you love Mopar?
Other parts include the custom front bumper, side steps, and a one-off roof rack that complements the RamRack system. A custom hood finished off the look.

FCA Teases SEMA Lineup, Includes Power Wagon & Wrangler
We’re less than a week away from the 2016 Specialty Equipment Market Association Show, better known as SEMA. Thousands of cars, trucks, SUVs, and custom creations will be present representing the best the aftermarket industry has to offer. OEMs will be out in full force, too, including Fiat Chrysler. Helping drum up interest for the show, FCA released renderings of five concept vehicles its brining, including a Ram 2500 Power Wagon and a Jeep Wrangler customized to look like a CJ. In total, the automaker is bringing 14 vehicles to SEMA.
FCA has not given any specific details on the vehicles, but its clear to see they are far from stock. The Ram 2500 Power Wagon has unique fender flares, a custom matt-black lower color scheme, and two hoops over the cargo bed. The front hoop is up near the cab, looking like those aftermarket hooks made popular in the 1980s. The rear hoop features louvered slats and the name “RAMRACK” embossed in red. There’s no obvious purpose for the hoops (like holding ladders or kayaks), so they could be purely aesthetic.
The Wrangler is a retro throw-back build that purportedly transforms a modern Wrangler into a classic CJ. The front grille and fenders carry the iconic CJ lines, while the hood is a modified version of American Expedition Vehicle’s Heat Reduction Hood. The hood also features black graphics, spelling out “CJ-Sixty Six.” The orange paint really makes the graphics pop, while the blacked-out grille, fender flares, hood accent, and front bumper give it an aggressive appearance. The headlights appear to be the new LED units found in the 2017 Wrangler.
We can see the Jeep sports a Warn winch and the bumper from a Wrangler Rubicon Hard Rock. The Jeep rolls on BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A tires mounted on beadlock wheels with a body-colored rim. We can also spot a rock rail protruding from the rocker panel, meaning this thing is set up for serious wheeling.

It’s SEMA time again and Ram is ramping up with this 2500 Outdoorsman edition. Loosely based on the 1500 Outdoorsman, this truck gets some of the same touches of Mossy Oak camo while the majority of its exterior is coated in Swamp Thing Green paint. Ram says the 2500 Outdoorsman’s color scheme makes it a perfect vehicle to make base camp with as it blends into its surroundings.
Ram has shown some pretty innovative bed solutions at past SEMA events, and this year seems to be no different. Installed here are “utility hoops” that have been used to support ladders and surfboards on past trucks. Now they serve as a framework for the bed tent. Also seen before on the 2013 Ram Sun Chaser is the concept Mopar roof rack and “Flip-up” seatback tailgate. That last feature smartly converts the tailgate into a bench seat with a fold-up seatback.
Besides the Swamp Thing paint and camo, the 2500 Outdoorsman is set apart by the 17-inch, bead-lock wheels wrapped in 35-inch BFGoodrich Mud Terrain T/A KM2 tires. Bilstein shocks and a Mopar leveling kit help the suspension keep up with the other changes. Mopar fender flairs keep mud off the paint and a side step helps ease access to the cab. A 12,000-pound winch is borrowed from the Ram Power Wagon and hides behind the black-painted front bumper.
Look for the 2500 Outdoorsman as the SEMA show gets underway in Las Vegas November 4th through 7th.

Automotive events just wouldn’t be the same without your favorite branded swag up for grabs. Apparently the fine folks at Mopar know this too. So in a move to kill two birds with one stone, Mopar will be bringing this hospitality ProMaster to the SEMA show coming up November 4th, 2014.
The ProMaster is equipped with opening panels that reveal a mobile storefront complete with shirts, hats, and other gear. Behind the merchandise is a refrigerator stocked full of ice-cold beverages. Of course, Mopar says this is to help demonstrate the versatility the Ram ProMaster offers. That statement isn’t made in vanity either. The Fiat Ducato-derived van offers the segments most vertically oriented sidewalls, giving more interior volume and storage flexibility.
The outside of the van is decked out in Mopar Blue with a matte-black lower two-tone color. A hitch-mounted step offers easy access through the rear doors, and the aftermarket black wheels and larger tires give the ProMaster a more polished look.

With less than a month left until the 2014 SEMA Show opens its doors on November 4th, automakers are starting to preview some of the projects that we’ll get to see in Las Vegas. While Honda is planning to showcase a handful of modified Fit sub-compacts, among other yet-to-be-named cars, Mopar is readying no less than 11 vehicles for the event..
Chrysler’s parts, service and customer care brand didn’t provide any details of its 2014 SEMA lineup, but in traditional fashion, it released teaser sketches for each vehicle that will be displayed in the brand’s 15,345-square-foot exhibit. This year’s lineup is as diverse as it gets, including cars from each brand found under the Chrysler-Fiat umbrella. Read on to find out what Mopar has in store for us at the SEMA Show.

American Expedition Vehicles just threw down the gauntlet. The company known for outfitting Jeep Wranglers with assembly-line-quality aftermarket parts has unveiled this 2014 Ram 2500 concept for this year’s SEMA event.
Starting with a 2014 Ram 2500 Crew Cab Diesel, AEV fitted 40-inch-tall tires under the Ram with a three-inch suspension lift. The result is a heavy-duty truck that’s still usable around town, but can handle any off-road challenge thrown its way.
AEV made a name for itself by developing its aftermarket products with guidance from Chrysler engineers, ensuring top-notch quality. The tradition continues in the Ram project with such examples as the suspension setup. The front springs remain stock and sit atop cast-aluminum spacers, so as not to change the ride quality, while heavy-duty Bilstein shocks help manage the expected abuses found off-road.
The Ram’s front bumper is 3/16-inch-thick stamped steel — over four times thicker than the stock unit — and hides a massive 16,500-pound Warn winch. Two recovery points predominantly protrude out front, ready for D-ring shackles. The bumper is divided into three separate pieces for easy replacement of damaged parts, or even further user-customization.
Around to the Ram’s side are the AEV high-clearance finders with integrated flares. They provide the capability to run 40-inch-tall tires with such a minimal lift. (Normally 40-inch tires require six to eight inches of lift) Unique 17x10, AVE-designed “Katla” cast-aluminum wheels are ruggedly stylish and can carry 3,650 pounds each.
In addition to the suspension setup, AEV added a high-steer kit that corrects for the steering gear’s new geometry, while only two inches of lift were added to the rear axle, making the truck level.
While the truck as a whole isn’t headed for production, the individual AEV parts are. They go on sale sometime in 2014.

With the SEMA convention coming up next week, all automakers are putting their best creative foot forward with new, innovative designs. Ram is no exception, bringing multiple trucks including this 2014 Ram Sun Chaser.
Starting with a 1500 Quad Cab, Ram built the perfect beach cruiser with a custom Vibrance Orange Blast paint scheme and plenty of extras to make a day at the beach – well, a day at the beach.
Body-color tow hooks peak through the matte-black front bumper whose color extends around the entire truck. Above that is the very bright Orange Blast paint that coats the sport performance vented hood. Sitting on top of the cab is a custom Mopar “surf rack” that works in conjunction with the two rack bars over the truck’s bed. The system is able to accommodate long boards and paddleboards, while extra hooks along the racks’ inside provide storage for four additional surfboards.
After a long day of surfing, personal clean up is a breeze with an onboard shower with a water bladder hidden inside the driver side RamBox. Perhaps the coolest feature found on the Ram Sun Chaser is the flip-up double seats bolted to the tailgate. With the flip of a lever, the molded-plastic seatback raises up to comfortably seat two adults while their legs hang off the tailgate. Two molded upholders provide an extra touch of comfort. We would love to see this upgrade make it the regular Mopar options list.
Inside the Sun Chaser, Katzkin leather seats feature stitching to match the Vibrance Orange Blast paint. The same stitching is found on the dash and door inserts. The Ram’s 5.7-liter, HEMI V-8 engine gets a Mopar cat-back exhaust, while the suspension gets a two-inch lift. Custom-built 17-inch beadlock wheels are wrapped in meaty rubber built to keep the Ram powering forward.

If there is one show that really brings the best out of Chrysler’s MOPAR tuning division, it is SEMA in Las Vegas.
Topping its past SEMA showcar roster, it looks like Mopar is once again pretty busy developing the models it will display in Las Vegas during the 2013 SEMA Show.
This year Mopar will bring no less than 20 heavily modified models, coming from Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram, Fiat and SRT. Plus a few buyer customers from Chrysler’s Facebook challenge prize-winners.
The first teaser images revealed today show:an updated Jeep Cherokee in various flavors some hot Fiat 500’s a Mopar Ram 1500 and the latest look for the Mopar Chrysler 300.
Those of you whom will be in Las Vegas this year will also have the chance to take a first look at the latest Jeep Performance Parts, developed by Mopar Off-Road Division and even for sale in many Jeep dealers.
