2021 Ram 1500 and Heavy Duty Limited Night Edition

2021 Ram 1500 and Heavy Duty Limited Night Edition

Ironically, the Limited Night Edition is not that limited

Since most of the focus this year has been on the Ram 1500 TRX, the other trucks had taken a backseat in terms of updates and upgrades. However, Ram decided to throw in a little something for the 2021 model year. So it introduced a new ‘Limited Night Edition’ for the 1500 and the Heavy Duty trucks. These are pretty much just cosmetic upgrades, but well, something is better than nothing!

It’s been about a week since Ram revealed the 2021 1500 TRX. It came with a lot of exciting features in and out and hit the bulls eye in almost every department. The starting price of $69,995 (excluding destination charges), too, wasn’t bad for the stuff that’s on offer. But, as is the norm these days, the Ram 1500 TRX was also introduced with a special “Launch Edition”.

Priced at over $90,000, this edition was limited to just 702 examples – the same amount of horsepower that the truck offers. At the onset, it seemed a little too expensive, but all 702 examples of the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX Launch Edition were officially sold out within three hours after the bookings opened. How about that!

An exterior shade that will make the truck stand out from the crowd

Ram sure knows how to keep its product portfolio active. Lately, a lot of our attention has been on the 2020 Ram 1500, which comes with the third-gen EcoDiesel engine and also created a record of sorts by claiming the Top Safety Pick+ award. Logically, this would mean a drop in the sales for the 2019 model. However, Ram is keeping the 2019 1500 active by launching new packages and special editions of the truck. This time, we get the new Mojave Sand Package that’s offered on the 2019 Ram 1500 Classic Warlock. The truck comes with a host of aesthetic changes to distinguish it from the standard Ram 1500. But, is it worth buying?

Customize the new Ram 1500 with up to 200 parts and accessories

It’s been just a month since Ram debuted the brand-new 1500 pickup truck at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show, and FCA is already offering a wide range of aftermarket parts and accessories. Showcased on a concept truck at the 2018 Chicago Auto Show, these new accessories cover everything from the exterior and interior to the drivetrain and the chassis. Most of them will become available in a few months, so you can start planning a Moparized model if you’re not happy with the standard and optional Ram features.

Described as an "outdoor, sport-themed truck," this Mopar-specced vehicle sports a unique, slightly more aggressive exterior, a more upscale interior, and lift kit that turns it into a more capable off-road explorer. The parts and accessories are taken from a list of around 200 items that can be purchased from Mopar via FCA dealerships. That’s quite a big selection, unlike anything you get from the competition. Ram-Texas Love Affair Continues with the Texas-Only 2019 Ram 1500 Lone Star Edition

The highly successful limited edition 1500 is a certified moneymaker

Back in 2002, Ram introduced the Ram Lone Star Edition as a tribute to Texas. It was described as the first truck designed by Texans and built specifically for Texans. Fast forward 16 years later and the pickup brand is launching another ode to the Lone Star State with a new version of the Ram 1500 Lone Star Edition. The special edition model was introduced at the Dallas Auto Show, and if it lives up to the success of its predecessor, we’re going to be seeing a lot of these Lone Star Editions in the heart of Texas.

2019 Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn Edition

2019 Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn Edition

Ram ups its luxury truck game

Ram has introduced the Laramie Longhorn trim level on its all-new 2019 Ram 1500 pickup. Like on the outgoing truck, the Laramie Longhorn is western-themed luxury trim filled with high-end materials. However, thanks to the vast improvements made on the 2019 Ram 1500, the Laramie Longhorn trim sees equally impressive advancements.

Designed to compete against the Ford F-150’s King Ranch and the Chevrolet Silverado’s High Country trims, the Laramie Longhorn goes above and beyond with real barn wood accent trim, full leather seats with contrast piping, brushed-nickel badging and accent trim, and Ram’s new 12-inch Uconnect touchscreen engulfing the dashboard. There is even the Laramie Longhorn badge branded into the wood trim above the glovebox – branded, like with a hot iron. That attention to detail continues through the cabin and onto the exterior.

2018 Ram 1500 Hydro Blue Sport

2018 Ram 1500 Hydro Blue Sport

The last special edition for 2017 targets folks fond of blue

It’s no secret automakers have found big success in special edition versions of conventional models. Nowhere else is that truer than in the pickup market. Ram’s latest special edition is this, the Hydro Blue Sport, and it will be the last special edition of the 2017 calendar year. Then after 2018, the all-new 2019 Ram 1500 will be hitting showrooms. But before that happens, expect Ram to continue offering dolled-up versions of its current pickups in 2018.

Mike Manley, the head of Jeep and Ram brands, says, “The custom look and high-impact colors have been well received in the marketplace and this new Ram 1500 Hydro Blue Sport will surely stand out on dealers’ lots and in customers’ driveways. Enthusiasts demand that their trucks get noticed and our Ram 1500 Sport lineup delivers a durable, powerful alternative with great visual appeal.”

Naturally, General Motors says the same about its special edition Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra trucks, too. And truth be told, they’re right. We recently spent a week with the 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Z71 Midnight Edition and found plenty of people staring and making approving comments. Will the Ram 1500 Hydro Blue Sport have the same effect? Tell us in the comments after reading all the details down below.

Ram Adds Two Special Editions To Its Already-Jumbled Trim Line

Ram Adds Two Special Editions To Its Already-Jumbled Trim Line

More luxury is great, but what’s up with these trim names?

Luxury is the apparent theme of the 2017 Texas State Fair as Ram launches two new special editions to its pickup lines, one of which is a high-end offering. The new Laramie Longhorn Southfork edition brings extra cowboy posh to the Ram 1500 and Heavy Duty pickups, while the Lone Star Silver edition jumps from the 2017 Ram 1500 to now the 2018 HD trucks. The announcement came just hours after Ford debuted the new availability of the Limited trim on the 2018 Super Duty and its $100,000 price tag. But unlike Ford and its easy-to-remember trims, Ram’s new offerings only contribute to a convoluted mess of similarly named trims and more special editions than anyone can keep track of.

Nomenclatures aside, the two special editions bring added luxury and a western flair to the Rams. The Ram’s Laramie Longhorn Southfork features two-tone, full-grain leather seats that are lighter in color than the traditional saddle brown in the Laramie Longhorn. More leather is stitched onto the grab handles, and steering wheel. Suede is used for the headliner and sun visors, and real Walnut and Ash wood is scattered in several places throughout the cabin. Outside, the big R-A-M grille and massive Longhorn badge cap the front and rear of the truck and 26 colors are available, including the recently added RV Match Walnut Brown lower two-tone color.

The Ram Heavy Duty’s new Lone Star Silver edition is basically a copy of the 2017 Ram 1500’s Lone Star Silver edition that debuted at last year’s Texas State Fair. Like the 1500, the HD’s new trim includes a wire-mesh grille with a Lone Star badge in the lower corner, chrome mirror caps and door handles, chrome side steps, 20-inch wheels, and black front tow hooks. Ram didn’t forget to slap another badge on the tailgate to signify this special edition’s tribute to the Lone Star State. Nothing changes inside, however. Seat choices are limited to vinyl or cloth in one of three colors in this mid-grade trim package. Naturally, the Lone Star Silver edition is only available in Texas.

Pricing for the high-end Laramie Longhorn Southfork starts at $52,615 for the 1500 in 2WD. The 2500 Southfork starts at $57,015. The HD’s new Lone Star Silver edition starts at $46,130 in the 2500 series. Of course, those prices are without any added options like 4WD and diesel engines.

What do you think? Will these special editions make customers more likely to buy? Are these names becoming too much to remember? Let us know in the comments below.
