Europe’s answer to SEMA – the Essen Motor Show – is coming up later this week and we’re already gearing up for what looks to be an eventful week in Germany as some of the world’s finest automakers troop to the event to show off their latest aftermarket creations.

One such brand that we already know is attending is Renault as they’ve announced one vehicle that will be displayed at the Essen show room floor: a tuning proposal for the Twingo-based Renault Wind courtesy of tuning company Elia.

We don’t have the full details on the vehicle, but we’ve scraped up enough information to know a few things about it.

For one, the car will either come with a 1.2-liter turbo engine or a 1.6-liter variant that will produce an output of 100 and 133 horsepower, respectively. The folks over at Elia are at work producing a performance package that will likely come in the form of an upgraded sport suspension and ECU unit that will see an increased output of 16 horsepower and 28Nm of torque.

Aesthetically speaking, Elia will also be adding LED daytime running lights and 18” allow wheels with two sets of tires being included in the front and rear – 205/35 up front and 235/30 at the back.

For now, that’s all the information we have, but as soon as more information becomes available, we’ll be sure to update you not just on this tuned-up cutie, but on all the vehicles that will be at Essen for Europe’s largest aftermarket tuning event.

I don’t like the styling for the back bumper it looks like distorted. However, with the figure performance said, I think this car is kind of less powerful. Well, I hope that a aftermarket company would work out in its speed.

Impressive platform! Well, I love the decent appearance of this Renault Wind but I wonder if what will be the interior of this will look like and even on its figure performance.

Renault Wind is very impressive and remarkable on its platform design and style, but I must say that it is much more a good-looking car in the color of blue. smiley Anyway, I will surely look forward to seeing this in person.

I would rather see this in person first before I could give some further comments about this Renault Wind but I think this car is quite impressive.

Well obviously the interior of this Renault Wind is not really a spacious one. I bet it is only a two seater car. I’m still looking forward to the other latest news of this Renault by Elia.

Based on what they’ve said, I can say that the car is not that impressive compare to other car’s performances. Furthermore, the interior of the car is not that spacious and its a minus for a compact car.

i like those wheels..Any chance they’ll see duty on a Nissan in the US, with a 5x114.3 bolt pattern in 17-18 inch diameters?

Renault will offer a choice of two four-cylinder engines in the Wind — the 100-horsepower 1.2-liter unit from the Twingo GT and the 133-hp 1.6-liter unit from the Renaultsport Twingo.
