Alpine delivers the goods with a fresh interpretation of the A110 sports car

Alpine’s return to automotive prominence hit another milestone with the unveiling of the A110 Legende GT. Billed as the “most refined interpretation of the A110 to date,” the A110 Legende GT breaks away from its contemporaries with a smattering of exclusive touches, including an all-new paint finish that will be seen for the first time on the A110.

There is, of course, more to the Legende GT than a fancy new paint. The special edition also boasts a bespoke exterior that matches the exclusivity of the interior. Alpine only plans to release 400 units of the A110 Legende GT. The special edition sports coupe is available to order in France with a starting price of €69,300. That’s around $77,000 based on current exchange rates.

What is the A110 Legende GT

The Alpine A110 is one of the most underrated sports cars in the market. It doesn’t get as much shine as it deserves, but that’s about to change with the introduction of the A110 Legende GT.

The special edition model puts the A110 in the spotlight in all the right ways. Its desirability is off-the-charts, and that’s not only because of its limited quantity. It’s available in three colors, including Deep Black, Abyss Blue, and Mercury Silver. The latter is an all-new color that will first be offered in the A110 Legende GT.

Complementing the paint colors is a set of 18-inch diamond-cut Sera alloy wheels that look to-die-for. The spoke design on those wheels is incredible, and it certainly helps that they’re finished in a pale gold hue that creates a nice contrast with the three available color choices. Equally alluring are the translucent white LED taillights that you won’t see anywhere else apart from the A110 Legende GT.

Does the A110 Légende GT Have a Bespoke Interior?

We could sit on those seats and never move
As satisfying as the Alpine A110 Legende GT’s exterior is, the sports car’s interior might be the better section.

It’s hard not to stare at the brown leather setup that exudes a classic and timeless vibe. You just want to sit on those six-way adjustable Sabelt seats and never leave. Matching leather on the door cards and glossy carbon fiber elements adds another layer of sophistication into what is otherwise a non-plussed cabin.

Throw in a custom luggage set that’s finished in the same color as the seats and we’re just about ready to buy one of these 400 units. And since the A110 Legende GT is a limited-run special edition model, it comes complete with a plaque that’s numbered based on build order.

Does the Légende GT Have Any Performance Upgrades?

The Alpine A110 Legende GT isn’t the most powerful sports car in the market. But it can certainly handle its own business.

The coupe draws its might from a 1.8-liter turbocharged engine that produces a steady 249 horsepower. Combine that with the A110’s lightweight nature and a dual-clutch transmission and you’re looking at a sports car that can sprint from 0 to 62 mph in 4.5 seconds before peaking at a top speed of 156 mph. Alpine says that the A110 Legende GT is the most refined version of the A110 it has ever created. Knowing what we know about the special edition A110, you won’t find us arguing against Alpine’s bold statement.

Kirby’s first exposure into the world of automobiles happened when he caught Knight Rider on television as a five-year old boy. David Hasselhoff didn’t leave much of an impression on him (that happened later on in Baywatch), but KITT certainly did. To this day, Kirby remains convinced that he will one day own a car with the same ‘spirit’ as the original KITT (not the 2008 monstrosity). He doesn't know when that will be, but until then, he’s committed to expressing his love for KITT, and all cars for that matter, here at TopSpeed.  Read More
