2020 Koenigsegg Jesko
The Koenigsegg Jesko is the company’s latest supercar, third megacar, and spiritual successor to the iconic Agera. Unveiled at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, the Jesko boasts a power-to-weight ratio greater than 1:1, which means its engine generates more horsepower than the car’s total curb weight in kilograms. Koenigsegg offered similar versions of the One:1 and Agera, but the Jesko takes things one step further with an impressive downforce rating of 2,205 pounds.
Named after Jesko von Koenigsegg, the father of company founder and CEO, Christian von Koenigsegg, the Jesko marks the debut of the firm’s latest carbon-fiber chassis and nine-speed multi-clutch transmission. It’s also supposed to hit at least 300 mph according to Koenigsegg, so it could improve the Agera RS’ 277-mph world record really soon. Let’s find out more about that in the review below.

The Maserati 3500 GT is, arguably, Maserati’s first stab at building a mass-market grand tourer that could challenge both Ferrari as well as its British peers. Many coachbuilders submitted designs to Maserati before the 3500 GT was put into series production and Pietro Frua came forth with proposals for both a fixed-head coupe as well as a convertible.
This very car was his idea of a topless 3500 GT and it is unique because, as it happened, Maserati chose Vignale’s design instead. The car is back on the auction block after previously being among the headliners at Monterey in 2017.

The Polaris Slingshot has always looked like a mechanized Zerg ready to devour mile after mile of asphalt. For the 2020 model, looks remain pretty much the same, albeit with a slight touch of extra cohesion overall. It’s the internals, however, that bring the revolution.
Perhaps the biggest change for the Polaris Slingshot is the introduction, for the first time ever, of an automatic gearbox. It’s not an automatic per se, but a hydraulically actuated five-speed manual that will broaden the customer base as the 2020 Slingshot can now be driven by those unwilling to climb in a manual-gearbox vehicle.
Wallpaper of the Day: 2016 Alfa Romeo 4C Spider
Now that FCA has finally killed off the Alfa Romeo 4C Spider, it has managed to find its way back into our hearts again. Okay, maybe not, but at the same time, we’re still kind of sad to see it go. We can’t help but wonder if it would have met the same fate had Alfa Romeo actually had the money and desire to even so much as give the 4C a mild facelift or any type of update at al throughout its entire lifespan. It just doesn’t seem like the proper end to a model that reintroduced Alfa Romeo to the U.S. market, now does it?
Of course, with the 4C delivering just 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque and no funds available to make any type of improvement, the 4C became largely obsolete and too expensive (for its capability) to even compete on the market anymore. So, with the 4C officially at the end of its life, we thought what a better way to send it off than to let it live on in our rotation of daily wallpapers. Can the Tesla Roadster Really Be Faster Than Expected or Is This News Just Damage Control for Missed Targets?
0-60 mph in 1.9 seconds. 0-100 mph in 4.2 seconds. A quarter-mile run in 8.8 seconds and a top speed in excess of 250 mph. All with a car that can go over 620 miles on a single charge. These were Elon Musk’s claims about the second-generation Tesla Roadster two years ago. If you’re still impressed, don’t be because, apparently, the production version will blow to smithereens the prototype. Or so says its designer.
The Mercedes SLC came about as a replacement for the SLK – a model that experiences sales beyond the 600,000 mark over it’s near 20 years of life. The SLC came to take its place sporting a lot of the same C-Class DNA of its predecessor along with a four-cylinder engine that was good for 241 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. It might not sound like a lot on paper, but the little roadster could hit 60 mph in 5.7 seconds, a commanding figure for a vehicle of its size. Of course, Mercedes also added an AMG SLC43 to the lineup as well, which brought a 3.0-liter V-6 into the mix. It delivered 362 horsepower and 384 pound-feet of torque. It could hit 60 mph in 4.6 seconds. But, I digress. We’re here because we’ve selected the SLC as our wallpaper of the day and we want you to give it some desktop love too. 2020 BMW M850i Convertible - Driven
The year was 2018, and it was time for BMW to have a Halo car outside of the aging i8, but BMW didn’t go for another EV or a high-powered supercar. Instead, after a 20-year hiatus, BMW decided that it was time to revive the 8 Series name, and that’s exactly what happened on June 15, 2018. The modern, sporty 2019 BMW 8 Series shot like an arrow straight to the heart of purists as BMW let out the roaring promise of crippling power in a sexy coupe silhouette – 523 horsepower in M850i form, to be specific. Since the return of the new 8 Series that hot day in the middle of June, the 8 Series lineup has expanded to include the 840i, M850i, M8, and the soon-to-launch Gran Coupe that should be offered in both M850i and M8 form.
Like most BMW fanboys, we started picking apart the new BMW 8 Series. We wondered: Is it worthy of the 8 Series name? Will it be worth the near-six-figure price? Can this large of a car really offer up the performance, handling, and luxury that not only have we come to expect from BMW but from something that wears the crown of a halo car? We’ve set out to find the truth on a number of occasions, and have even compared it on paper to the 6 Series, the Aston Martin DB11, and the Mercedes S-Class. It wasn’t until Summer of 2019 that we actually got to sit behind the wheel of the new 8 Series, though. But, when we did, we were graced with the honor of driving the M850i Convertible – a model that is said to blend 523 horsepower, world-class driving dynamics, and the best open-air feeling on the market.

Porsche 718 Spyder Debuts with Flat-Six Engine and Sub-$100K Price
It’s been three years since Porsche redesigned the Boxster and we’re finally witnessing the return of the iconic Spyder model. First introduced in 2009 and relaunched in 2015, the Boxster returns wearing the iconic "718" badge, which makes it the first car to wear the full name of its spiritual predecessor, the 718 Spyder of the 1960s. Just like the previous Boxster Spyder, the new sports car features a flat-six engine, as surprising choice given that the current 718 Boxster is a turbo, flat-four-only vehicle.

With such an important job to do and an incredible heritage to justify, the new Porsche 911 Speedster - the ninth Speedster overall - is the best the 991.2 generation can possibly offer.

2019 BMW i8 Roadster Driven
The BMW i8 Roadster is the car you want to have if you want to make more statements at once. If you want to look wealthy, unusual, and with an eye towards our future, you should park an i8 in your driveway. The 2+2 sports car still looks fresh six years into its production cycle and, as much as we love the glassed roof of the coupe, this roadster version is the one to have during the summer months. We took one for a spin to see if BMW has lost the lead in the hybrid sports car segment or if the i8 is still the king of the crop.
Now, the first thing you must know about the i8 Roadster is the concession it pushes you to make: due to the fact that you no longer have a fixed roof over your head and, instead, you have to make do with a soft top, there are o back seats. The place where the back seats used to be is eaten up by the two-piece, electrified roof when it’s folded away from view. On the other hand, you do get just as much oomph as in the case of the Coupe, namely 369 horsepower combined that translate to a 0-60 mph time of 4.4 seconds. Also, the roofless i8 was the first to come with the 11.6 kWh battery pack that feeds the single synchronous electric motor on the front axle and the one that sits on the back axle, near the engine.
Porsche finally unveiled the new 911 Speedster to the world, reinstating a name that echoes the halls with history and reminds us of great models past. Based on the 991.2 generation of 911, it represents the absolute best the past generation can offer (remember, Porsche just introduced the 992, 2019 Porsche 911 this year). Featuring that unique double bubble rear deck, the new speedster celebrates the 70th anniversary of rear-engined sports cars and harkens back to the original Porsche 356 Speedster. This lady in red really got our engines running, so we figured we’d make it our wallpaper of the day.
