The Rolls-Royce Cullinan is the most luxurious SUV you can buy today. Even in the standard form, it basically has everything one needs (and doesn’t need) in an SUV. But that didn’t stop aftermarket companies from trying to do different things to it and give it a twist.

Klassen stretched and armored a Cullinan and put a $2 million price tag on it. Rolls-Royce upped the ante when it launched the Cullinan Black Badge edition. And, now, Mansory has laid its hands on it and unveiled the Rolls-Royce Cullinan Coastline.

The Cullinan Coastline features a lot of changes in and out, and feels like a fresh take on the world’s costliest SUV. The exterior features a body kit, the interior receives a new theme, and the drivetrain receives a power bump. Will it lure in any buyers?

Overview

The Rolls-Royce Cullinan is a tank on wheels. It is big, boxy, and bulky, and is the center of attraction wherever it goes. Arguably, it would be the same case even if it didn’t wear the RR badges all around or the Spirit of Ecstasy. An SUV, that supposedly exudes sophistication, has been given a wacky mod-job by Mansory. The aftermarket company has done some tasteful jobs lately, but this time, in my opinion, it has messed up the color palette. Along with the Coastline, Mansory also released the Urus Venatus and that thing looks equally bizarre.

What Does The Coastline Look Like?

- Dual-Tone Exterior Shade – Ocean Blue and Secret Silver - Grille Also Receives The Dual-Tone Treatment - The secret of Ecstasy Is Now A Manchester City FC Fan - Carbon Fiber Lightweight Hood - 24-inch Wheels - Low Profile Tires - A Lot Of Air Vents All Around The Body - Side Skirts - “Forged Carbon” Components

Up front, the Cullinan Coastline went through a lot of changes. For starters, the SUV gets a dual-tone exterior shade. Mansory calls them Ocean Blue and Secret Silver.

The hood, roof, and a couple of pillars receive the silver treatment. Basically, the car's torso is silver while the lower section is blue. Heck, even the grille is dual-tone - the left half is blue whereas the right half is silver! Someone please get the designers off of Photoshop for a few days, please.

Mansory has redesigned the front fascia that retains the core essence of the Cullinan, but has added a lot of elements of its own, too. The front end receives larger air intakes that give it a sporty vibe. The faux skid plate at the bottom is evident, though. The headlights, fortunately, remain the same and Mansory did not try to fiddle there.

The stock hood is replaced with a carbon fiber lightweight one here and is painted in Secret Silver. While all this is still acceptable, Mansory dared to play around with the Spirit of Ecstasy as well. The proud jewel that sits atop the edge of the hood has also been painted in Ocean Blue shade. Well, we’ve seen it all now.

The side profile is also drastically different from the standard Cullinan. The Bavarian tuner has installed side skirts that help with the aerodynamics and give it a lower stance. If you plan on taking it off-roading, get ready to scrape it more often. But, since the SUV receives a power bump and will be faster, the improved aerodynamics should help it handle better at high speeds.

The handles on the suicide doors are also finished in the body shade. Mansory has slapped air vents on the fenders to keep the airflow calm and the vehicle more stable when driven hard and fast in windy conditions. The B- and C- pillars are left as they are, whereas the A- and D- pillars receive the silver treatment. The D-pillar also receives air vents for aerodynamic purposes.

You can also choose to equip the “V.6” design wheels that are available as an option. Mansory recommends using high-performance tires in 295/30/R24 dimensions at the front and rear. These low profile tires may run well on tracks and smooth tarmac; but, in off-road conditions, that’s a clear no. The wheel arches are now more prominent, thanks to the contrasting camouflage-ish pattern on them. The same graphic has been used on all four corners in various places. There is no word on this, but these are apparently the “forged carbon” components that Mansory had spoken about.

The bumper comes with dual-tip exhaust pipes on either end and a faux skid plate in the middle. This also has touches of silver and blue on it. Surprisingly, it doesn’t look as gaudy as the other parts with the dual-tone touch. All in all, the SUV will draw a lot of attention with a lot of different facial expressions from every individual.

Are There Any Changes On The Inside?

- Everything Comes In Turquoise - Some Wood And Metal Trims Left Untouched - Leather Interior With Wavy Stitching Pattern - What Happened To The Starry Night Headliner?

It looks like Mansory took inspiration from the Mr. Bean episode where he wraps up all the essentials with paper and then drops a bomb into a white paint bucket. Mansory seems to have done the same, but with turquoise. Easy peasy. The blue shade is absolutely everywhere – on the door panels, seats, steering wheel, the steering rack, pillars, dash, bits of the center console, roof, headliners, and everywhere else you can imagine.

All the wood and metal trims, however, are left untouched. The steering wheel and the surrounds still have the wood inserts. The center comes with a Mansory logo now. The part of the center console with all the buttons and console has surprisingly been left as it is, and so have the pedals. The company says the whole of the interior is wrapped in leather and stitched in wavy lines. Well, we missed spotting that until we read it because we didn’t carry our protective glasses. We’d recommend you to buy the Mansory Sunglasses as well that are available on the tuner’s website.

The Coastline Receives Significant Power Bumps

- 6.75-liter, V-12 Engine - 610 Horsepower - 700 Pound-Feet of Torque - 0-62 mph In Five Seconds - Top Speed Increased To 174 mph

In standard form, the Cullinan comes with a 6.75-liter, V-12 engine under the hood. It develops 563 ponies and 627 pound-feet of torque. Mansory took this up a notch and made the ‘Coastline’ all the more powerful.

All the extra power comes courtesy of a new engine management system and a sports exhaust system. The Coastline can sprint to 62 mph from a standstill in five seconds and has a top speed of 174 mph, as opposed to the standard Cullinan’s 155 mph. Power is still sent to all the wheels via an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission.

How Does It Compare To The Rolls-Royce Cullinan Black Badge?

The Cullinan sure goes up against the Bentley Bentayga and the Lamborghini Urus, but a special edition like this can only go up against a similar one. Rolls-Royce launched the Black Badge edition some time back and it made improvements in almost all the departments. On the outside, the chrome grille, Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament, and a few other trims receive a high-gloss black chrome finish. The 22-inch wheels also came with a new design with red brake calipers and looked much different from the standard Cullinan.

On the inside, it really went up a notch. The Cullinan comes with a starry headliner that is made up of 1,344 fiber optic cables and makes the roof look like a starry night sky. On the Black Badge Cullinan, the company added shooting stars to it! There are also features like:

-* Carbon Fiber Trims Around The Dash And Center Console

-* Individual Screens For The Rear Passengers

-* Lambswool Floor Mats

-* Refrigerator With RR-Carved Glasses

Under the hood, it features the same 6.75-liter, V-12 engine as the standard Cullinan. However, it receives a power boost. The engine now churns out 600 horses and 663 pound-feet of torque. This is a tad bit less than the Mansory’s version of the Cullinan.

There are a lot of other options to choose from. Load it up with all the optional equipment and the price will be up by almost $100,000 over the Black Badge’s starting price of $380,000, which is anyway $55,000 more than the standard Cullinan. So, if you want a fully spec’d Rolls Royce Cullinan Black Badge – the best that the company has to offer – be ready to shell out $480,000.

Final Thoughts

Since the conversion is based on the standard Cullinan, the Black Badge offers more features and value-additions in comparison. The company has said it will be doing only eight conversions worldwide. With many other Cullinan mods out there, this does not top our list. Mansory itself has the ‘Billionaire’ and the ‘Wide Body’ conversions for the Cullinan which look a lot better.

However, looks are subjective and some may prefer the freaky color combination of the Coastline. With that said, the Mansory-made SUV is surely ultra-exclusive and is perhaps the most powerful Cullinan in the world right now.
