Rolls-Royce Used Songs From Radiohead and Pink Floyd to Test Its Fancy Audio System

The state-of-the-art sound system will offer acoustic pleasure to those sitting in a Phantom, but first it had to be finely tuned via a rather eccentric playlist

The state-of-the-art sound system will offer acoustic pleasure to those sitting in a Phantom, but first, it had to be finely tuned via a rather eccentric playlist

Mercedes-Benz uses a Burmester-design audio system inside the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class. BMW fitted the 7 Series with a Bowers & Wilkins setup, while Bentley partnered with Bang & Olufsen for the Continental GT and Naim Audio for the Mulsanne.

Rolls-Royce, however, unlike its “ordinary” counterparts and developed its own setup, dubbed Bespoke Audio. But then again, Rolls-Royce is not your ordinary carmaker.hich is something, which is something evoked by the playlist it used to test the audio system found inside the Phantom.

2019 Rolls-Royce Ghost Zenith Collection

2019 Rolls-Royce Ghost Zenith Collection

The culmination of all things Ghost proves Rolls-Royce still has no peer

The Rolls-Royce Ghost has proudly carried the Spirit of Ecstasy for the better part of 10 years. It’s had an eventful and remarkable run, but like all good things, the first-generation Ghost’s time has come. Retirement beckons for Rolls’ stately sedan, but before it’s made official, Rolls-Royce is deservedly honoring the first-generation Ghost with a final special edition model called the Zenith Collection. Like all things Rolls-Royce, the Ghost Zenith Collection will be limited to just 50 units. More importantly, all 50 units are inspired by a pair of models that helped shape the Ghost in their unique ways: the 1907 Silver Ghost and the 2008 “200EX” Concept Car that ultimately served as the foundation from which the first-generation Ghost sprung to life. Rolls-Royce did not disclose the price tag of each of the 50 Ghost Zenith Collection models. That said, if you want one, you’ll need to take the initiative because, according to Rolls, “order books for this seminal Collection will close imminently.”

2019 Rolls-Royce Phantom Tranquility

2019 Rolls-Royce Phantom Tranquility

A white Rolls-Royce that’s not obnoxious although it has rocket parts on the dashboard

The Rolls-Royce Phantom VIII is the archetype of the full-size ultra-luxurious car to the extent that the car’s platform is known as ’Architecture of Luxury’. The ’Tranquility’ special edition model, of which just 25 will be made, is an ode to outer space and to man’s numerous attempts to reach it.

Since the launch of the Cullinan SUV last year, Rolls-Royce’s other models have somehow been overshadowed by the buff figure of the first high-riding Roller. Now, though, they’re back in the limelight at the Geneva Auto Show as the British manufacturer brings to Switzerland no less than three special edition models, the Black Badge Ghost, the Blue Badge Wraith and, finally, The Phantom Tranquility which is, undoubtedly the most astounding of the lot. It’s also a way for Rolls-Royce to announce the introduction of a new Bespoke program that can further personalize the Black Badge Ghost.

2018 Rolls-Royce Phantom by Mansory

2018 Rolls-Royce Phantom by Mansory

Supreme Rolls-Royce opulence festooned with the power of Mansory

I am about to tell you about the Rolls-Royce Phantom garnished with decorative pieces by Mansory and then jeweled by an effortless push of 602 thoroughbreds. It is Mansory’s way of going above and beyond. Above and beyond anything one may consider customary, appropriate, or even becoming. It is as bizarre as Halloween cosplay and as exquisite as a ball gown. It is controversy in understanding, and harmony in dissonance. It is the Rolls-Royce Phantom by Mansory.

I would argue that gliding through the atmosphere, carried by a swoosh of hot air, is as close to freedom as one may get. Such a dignified spectacle can be almost recreated on the roads as well. Riding in the back seats of the Rolls-Royce Phantom is more comfortable for sure, but the sheer exquisiteness of its cabin pursued by a definite insulation from the outside world is as equally liberating as gliding, although fundamentally opposite in its execution. That is what Rolls-Royce is all about - being as free as a bird, but in a way, some may even call profligacy.

The Rolls-Royce Phantom by Masonry is profligate and lecherous. But it is impeccable and irresistible much the same.

North Korea’s leader knows how to ride in style

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is known to have a taste for fancy luxury cars, and it appears that his latest ride is none other than a Rolls-Royce Phantom. Kim arrived at his meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in the luxury sedan — eagle-eyed observers saw the Rolls-Royce logo on the car’s wheel center caps — prompting speculation that the North Korean president has a new ride to go along with the Mercedes-Maybach Pullman Grand armored limousine that he used during his summit with his South Koran counterpart, Moon Jae-in, earlier this year.

YouTube Star’s $80,000 Rolls-Royce Phantom Has A Few Problems With It

The cost of repairs could exceed the amount he paid for the whole car

The host of YouTube channel Hoovies Garage found himself in the news a few days ago after he took the ultimate leap of faith in buying a 13-year old Rolls-Royce Phantom for a tidy sum of $80,000. On the one hand, a Phantom that costs below $100,000 is a bargain find. On the other hand, an $80,000 Rolls-Royce Phantom is priced so low for a reason, or a few reasons. It didn’t take long for those reasons to come to light.

BMW's New Trademark Could Point to The Next One-Off Rolls-Royce Model

BMW’s New Trademark Could Point to The Next One-Off Rolls-Royce Model

The "Boat Tail" could the successor to the "Sweptail"

Rolls-Royce appears to have another one-off model in its sights after parent company BMW filed a trademark for the name “Boat Tail” with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). Rolls-Royce’s long history of building coach-built models is well-established. It hasn’t done a lot of it in recent years, but it did drop quite the surprise last year when it unveiled the Sweptail, a one-off creation that took four years to create. Don’t look now because It’s unclear what Bimmer’s reasons are for filing the trademark, but it likely has something to do with Rolls-Royce.

Rolls-Royce Is Putting Serious Thought Into Electric Vehicles

Rolls-Royce Is Putting Serious Thought Into Electric Vehicles

There’s still a lot of work that needs to be done before an EV Rolls becomes a reality

Seven years ago, Rolls-Royce rolled out the Phantom Experimental Electric 102EX Concept at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show. Then things turned quiet in Crewe. Outside of CEO Torsten Muller hinting at the possibility of an EV Rolls in 2015, we haven’t heard a peep about the company’s electric car plans since the 102EX broke cover. That changed recently when a high-ranking BMW board member admitted that the Spirit of Ecstasy could go electric real soon.

Breaking News: Groundhogs Love Rolls-Royce

Breaking News: Groundhogs Love Rolls-Royce

Yup! It’s official

Who would have thought that those furry little ground dwellers would even have a preference of car? You would think that something like a Chevy Cruz, Ford Focus, or even a Mazda3 would be good enough. Even an Acura or a Lexus would have been more expected, but nope – that isn’t the case at all. As it turns out, Groundhogs are madly in love with Rolls-Royce vehicles. More specifically, the Rolls-Royce Phantom. As you can see from the images above, this groundhog, who asked to remain anonymous, is madly in love with the Rolls-Royce Phantom.

We’re unsure of the backstory here, or why our anonymous friend seems to love that Phantom so much, but he sure did spend plenty of time walking around underneath it, rubbing against the tire, and even considered building himself a den inside the engine bay. Don’t worry folks; he’s a bachelor, so there’s no chance of his offspring getting caught up in the cooling fans by mistake.

Okay, the truth is that we don’t know who the groundhog was or what he was doing there, but what do you think? We received these images along with a batch of Phantom photos and couldn’t help but spread the word about this little guy’s interest in one of the world’s best luxury cars. Is he friend or is he foe? Was he just curious? Check out the few shots we have of this little guy below, then let us know your opinion in the comments section.

You Can Now Configure The Rolls-Royce Phantom Of Your Dreams

You Can Now Configure The Rolls-Royce Phantom Of Your Dreams

I played around with Rolls-Royce’s new online configurator for the next-gen Phantom and this is what came out of it

Online configurators are a beautiful thing. They serve a variety of functions for a variety of people. Those who have the finances to actually buy the things they create in these configurators can get really personal with their soon-to-be prized acquisitions. But for the rest of us, online configurators are about the closest thing we can have to our very own models without actually paying for them in the end. This is important because Rolls-Royce just launched an online configurator for the all-new, eighth-generation Phantom luxury sedan, and as you can expect, I went crazy with it.

While it’s true that there are certain elements about the all-new Phantom that will be consistent among all models – the bespoke all-aluminum platform and the equally new twin-turbo 6.75-liter V-12 engine being two of them – the rest of it is up to the buyer’s imagination. The automaker did say that when it comes to the new Phantom, you don’t end up buying one; you commission one. Notwithstanding the sentiment that Rolls’ position is far easier said than done, the new online configurator does give us the freedom to personalize our very own Phantoms the way we see fit. Nothing is going to come out of it other than personal gratification, but it is a very cool and exciting exercise nonetheless. In light of that, I went ahead and played around with the online configurator, the results of which you can see below.
