Ken Block and Audi - A Match Made in Heaven?
Remember all those gymkhana videos with millions of views on YouTube? Of course you do. For years, Ken Block has been working with Ford, and the only company before that was Subaru. Now, though, the 53-year old rally driver has moved to Audi - did you see this coming?
2021 Manhart ER 800
In stock form the E63 S has enough power to take on models like the M5. It is in fact a fair fight: 603 horsepower vs. 591 horsepower! But what happens when the BMW M5 is updated to deliver around 800 horsepower (well, 789 horsepower to be more exact)? Think about models like MH5 800 developed by Manhart. Well, in this case you need the E63 S to deliver more power too. And it is the same Manhart that has the solution for you: the ER 800 with its 800 horsepower!
Does This Rendering Preview the New Subaru WRX STI?
We recently gazed upon the new 2022 Subaru WRX and, although it was met with mixed reviews, our hopes are that the next STI will (finally) be something ground-breaking. As with any highly anticipated model, we are already seeing some pretty good renderings of how the next STI would look like. Arnold Verghese – an automotive CG artist and motion designer is giving us a very plausible design preview of the 2022 (2023?) STI. If you browse his other work. you’ll also see that he has done other Subaru designs in the past, but we believe he nailed it with this one.
2022 Infiniti Q50
The Japanese trio of luxury car companies comprised of Lexus, Acura, and Infiniti has been on the downfall in recent years. Lexus is holding up fine, but Acura and more so Infiniti have been feeling the heat in recent years with competition from Mercedes, Audi, and BMW. Now, Infiniti is trying to give people more reason to buy the Q50 sedan for the 2022 model year by giving it several new upgrades. Is it enough to keep the Sedan alive in a market where Sedans are slowly going extinct?
Can The McLaren 765 LT Score An Upset Victory Over The Tesla Model S Plaid On The Drag Strip?
Brooks from DragTimes brought two of his best vehicles on the drag strip for a face-off. The contenders are a Tesla Model S Plaid and a McLaren 765 LT. The Plaid is invincible, but the McLaren is no slouch. The 765 LT was the quickest production car to a quarter-mile before the Plaid arrived, taking just 9.3 seconds at 150+ mph. So, this will be an interesting match-up. From the looks of it, the Plaid might claim the bragging rights, but could the McLaren score some upset victories?
2022 Lexus ES
The Lexus has recieved a few necessary updates, and now it is ready to compete well with the German mid-size luxury sedans like the BMW 5 Series, Audi A6, and Mercedes-Benz E Class. The welcome additions are worth the $40,800 price tag, and it is still a bargain compared to some of the German competition.
The Lucid Air Officially Takes Down The Tesla Model S To Become The ’Longest Range’ EV With An EPA-Rating Of 520 Miles!
Lucid Air came out all guns blazing and looked like the only serious threat to the Tesla Model S in all these years. It countered the Model S like-for-like in most of the features and specs. But, in one spec – that probably matters the most in EVs – it has killed the Tesla. I’m talking about the range. The Lucid Air was officially tested by the EPA and it managed to achieve a rating of 520 miles! This is 114 miles more than the Tesla Model S, which used to be the production car with the best range EV until now.
2022 Lexus IS 500 F SPORT Performance
The IS family already has a 5.0-liter V-8 stuffed into the regular 500, which turned out to be a fire-breathing performer. But the missing F Sport Performance makes its way to the U.S. market and will sport the same V-8 engine but will be sportier, feature better luxury, and will be priced at $56,500 for the base trim.
The Lexus IS 500 Blends V-8 Power With Styling at Anti-German Prices
Can Lexus’ latest attempt at a sports sedan truly out-shine the stuffy Germans at BMW, Audi, and Mercedes? Quite possibly, but let’s just say this is not a case of "buy the Lexus because you cannot afford the BMW." This is about a V-8 Lexus Sedan than could create some headaches in a few German HQs.
2023 Mercedes-Benz EQE
Mercedes-Benz was quite active at the 2021 IAA Mobility Show. It came up with five vehicles there, which included the AMG EQS, the EQG Concept, the EQB crossover, and the Maybach EQS SUV. Among this lot was also the EQE, an E-Class-based electric sedan. This baby EQS is loaded to the gills and seems like a sweet package at the onset. The only fly in the ointment is the availability of the single-motor setup, to begin with, but a dual-motor setup EQE and an AMG EQE will arrive in the future.
2021 Jaguar XF and XE R-Dynamic Black
Last year, Jaguar launched the R-dynamic package for the smaller Jaguar XE, and for 2022, the Jaguar XF joins the party. However, for 2022, we’re looking at the R-Dynamic Black package that brings a lot of new standard features to the XF and adds some extras that the XE didn’t get last year.
For starters, both models will feature black mirror cams, 19-inch wheels, red brake calipers, and black window trim. The XE and XF now feature privacy glass (tinted windows) and the panoramic sunroof. While other black accents have been added to the front grille, fender vents, and badging. On the inside, the XE features a Gloss Grey Figured Ebony interior whill the XF gets Charcoal Ash wood veneer. Bright pedal faces land below the dash while the XF now comes with an improved cabin lighting system with 30 colors as opposed to the original 10.
As for the powertrain, both cars in R-Dynamic Black trim come with the 2.0-liter four-cyliner engine with a thirst for gasoline or diesel. If you opt for the diesel powertrain, you’ll have the added benefit of Jaguar’s new 48-Volt mild-hybrid system. An eight-speed automatic sends power to the rear wheels of each car. In terms of power output, those equipped with a gasoline engine will deliver either 250 or 300 horsepower while the diesel model will give just 204 ponies. The most powerful XE will get you to 60 mph in around 5.6 seconds while the XF will make the same sprint in 5.8 seconds. Top speed for both is limited to 155 mph.
The new R-Dynamic Black Edition is available for order now and starts out at £33,740 for the XE or £37,535 for the XF. As of the time of this writing, those figures computer to $46,634 and $51,879, respectively.
A Very Special 1994 Mercedes W124 Brabus 6.5 Recently Emerged From The Shadows
The Mercedes W124 is praised for its build quality and the ability to survive just about anything (or so they say). When it comes to performance versions, the 500E is the first to come to mind, since it technically laid the foundation for a future lineup of V8-powered Mercedes performance sedans. Then came the E60 AMG “Hammer” with a bigger V-8 and more power. The Brabus 6.5, however, is even more special. In addition to being even more powerful, there’s only one in existence.
