LISTEN 03:09

Skoda’s 2010 IRC Championship win may not have gotten a ton of headlines from the press, but it certainly hasn’t stopped the automaker from releasing a special edition Fabia RS that was created to celebrate the automaker’s title win in the IRC, or as some folks would call it, the breeding ground and stepping stone towards the more famous WRC.

For their special edition vehicle, Skoda decked the Fabia RS with a Rally Green exterior paint with racing livery all around it and stickers taken from the official championship-winning S2000 rally car. There’s also the addition of a white roof to complement the Rally Green body color, as well as a set of 17-inch alloy wheels to finish off the dazzling look of special edition Fabia RS.

As for performance, Skoda gave the car a turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 177 horsepower and 184 lb/ft of torque and is mated to a 7-speed DSG transmission that accelerates from 0-60 mph in 7.3 seconds with a top speed of 139 mph.

The special edition Fabia RS IRC has yet to be given a price tag by Skoda, but according to the company, the model will only come in limited quantities with only 200 units being built.

Kirby’s first exposure into the world of automobiles happened when he caught Knight Rider on television as a five-year old boy. David Hasselhoff didn’t leave much of an impression on him (that happened later on in Baywatch), but KITT certainly did. To this day, Kirby remains convinced that he will one day own a car with the same ‘spirit’ as the original KITT (not the 2008 monstrosity). He doesn't know when that will be, but until then, he’s committed to expressing his love for KITT, and all cars for that matter, here at TopSpeed.  Read full bio

Certainly have a dazzling look and with this big type of race sport car. If this kind of car can do championship can wait to see more of it. Though it already proved what to be proven.

The red and green color combination for the car is not a good idea. They are opposite color that is why their blending is lame. Anyway, I never thought that Skoda was already on its 110th year. Well, good for them.

I think this not fit for a racing car because the performance is not that good. The good thing on this idea is it may be the beginning of their big productions snice they are developing unique cars.

For the special edition of Skoda Fabia the transmission that really specialized and gives sets of compliments details, That makes it champions for the racing event.

eah that right! Competition and finding out, which are the best among the list would be the possible cause why buyers lose interest on this one.

This model is only limited because of its official name is already lost in popularity.
And the competitor lost interested because lots of version of cars already existed.

No. I’m getting really sick and tired of companies releasing these "rally cars" that are nothing but a facelift and still fwd...it’s just a tease.

Does this thing have awd?

While the smaller displacement 1.6-liter four-cylinder diesel engine produces the same figures as the output of the 1.9 TDI with 105 hp and 250Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque, which is expected to offer improved diesel fuel mileage and lower CO 2 emissions.

The front grill looks like it’s from a Lincoln! Besides that it ain’t bad looking.

This is mated to a seven-speed DSG transmission for a 0-100 km/h time of 7.3 seconds. Top speed is 224 km/h.

A red leather trim finishes the top of the inside of the doors and below it an ornamental design is featured. The seats are quite consistent in their change, continuing the red leather theme but going two-tone.

i agree, they should have added a little bit of fender, lower the car, side skirt and spoilers. but pretty nice car as is.

it comes with the same 1.4-litre engine above unlike the IRC regulation based 2.0-litre normally aspirated engine of the rally car. It however comes with the rally car’s race colors.

This looks like a box with nice front lights, cool wheel design and nice engine. But still a box! And in green.... lol

I for one like what is inside. Sure I would paint this one in different color but I love to smoke some slicks anytime.

Why did they do a "wannabe sporty car" with a good engine performance, in green paint job? smiley

  (70) posted on 12.15.2010

This car looks like a milk car. For this Special Edition they should of make it smaller in height and with meaner front lights. These detail wouldn’t of been too much trouble and the impact would of been the same as the one from Golf V to Scirrocco!

I cannot believe that they created an 1.4 liter engine with 177 HP :d Who designed this engine? Volkswagen?
