Volkswagen->ke94 has been on a multi-year mission to sell more cars than any other company in the world. The next step in its ambitious plan involves making one of their larger European brands even more attractive. At the Geneva Motor Show->ke228 in March, Volkswagen is rolling out the new Skoda VisionC Concept.

Designed as a concept study based around the Skoda Octavia->ke1949 sedan, the VisionC Concept is being created to demonstrate the future of Skoda->ke82 design and visual aesthetic. All we currently have is this preview sketch, but we can see the design is a four-door coupe->ke141 with sharp and aggressive lines. The squared off features and headlight detail are very reminiscent of Audi->ke14’s newest vehicles.

We know that many vehicles will be produced using the general design language shown on the VisionC Concept, but we are as yet unaware if the actual concept car will be made into a road going model. The VisionC may become the new Octavia, or there may be a new swoopier model that is created much in the way Volkswagen has the CC and the Passat.

Check back here in March when the concept is officially unveiled in Geneva. We will have all the photos and details for you then.

2013 Skoda Octavia

The Octavia is Skoda's midsize entry into the market and it shares a size very similar to the Volkswagen Passat. The latest generation Octavia is built on the new modular MQB platform that forms the basis of the Mk 7 Golf.

Skoda is a member of the massive Volkswagen Automotive Group. The Czech brand is positioned as the entry level for VW AG’s European operations, but thanks to the use of Volkswagen platforms, the cars are still regarded as well-built alternatives to the main stream automotive choices.

Many of their recent models have received lots of praise for their build-quality, standard equipment and bargain price. In a recent Top Gear series, Jeremy Clarkson was very impressed by the Skoda Yeti->ke2899 and stated it may possibly be the best car in the world.
