At the beginning of this week, we brought you the first spy shots of the revised Skoda Superb. Today it’s time for another set of shots, but this times they are of the Superb Combi version - yes, also known as Superb Station Wagon.
As you can see from these images, the prototype is wearing some camouflage on the parts that will receive most of the updates. However, as with the previously launched Rapid and Octavia, the new Superb version will receive design elements initially unveiled in the MissionL concept.
This means there will be a new front grille, new headlights and front bumper. At the rear, we will see redesigned lights and a new rear bumper. The interior will also be slightly revised with higher-quality materials and maybe some new tech pieces.
Under the hood, we will most likely see the same engine lineup seen in the recently announced Octavia, meaning there will be a choice of newly developed petrol and diesel engines.
Just like with the rest of the Skoda lineup, the Superb is also about to receive a mid-life update. Our spy photographers have caught the car testing today for the first time and, even though the prototype is wearing camouflage, you can clearly see that the updates will be similar to those initially unveiled in the MissionL concept.
This means that the front end will be pretty similar to the one revealed in models like Rapid and Octavia. So, you should expect a new front grille, new headlights and front bumper. For the rear, the model will get redesigned lights, meaning they will change from the slotted lights with the inner part on the trunk lid into a one-piece version. Together with a new rear bumper, this will give the back a cleaner look. The interior will also be slightly revised.
There are no details on the engine lineup just yet, but you should see expect the new engines from the Octavia lineup.
During Volkswagen’s mad grab for power in the European auto industry, it managed to snag up little-known Czech car manufacturer, Skoda. With this acquisition, VW Group decided that revving a legendary name in the automaker’s past was a great way to help increase the brand’s popularity. This brought about the revival of the Skoda Superb – a model that dates back to the 1930s – as a sedan and a station wagon (estate).
The rebadged version of the Passat has since been one of the better-selling Skoda models, as it features VW quality and style with not-so-VW prices. Its price point is made more evident by the fact that the base-level Superb Estate comes in at £1,015 ($1,624 at the current exchange rates) less than the base Passat Estate.
One area that the Skoda seemed to fall short was the fact that it was not available in a more rugged version to satisfy those buyers that like to use its four-wheel-drive system to its fullest extent. That has since changed, as Skoda has just announced that it is releasing an all-new version of the Superb, dubbed he Superb Outdoor, which features a standard four-wheel-drive system and a more rugged exterior appearance.

Our spy photographers have caught a very interesting prototype of a Super Scout testing. We say interesting because this particular Skout has parts that used to be produced by a Czech company that modifies Skoda cars, but this a prototype straight from Skoda itself. The prototype was caught testing together with a mule for the production Vision D.
Rumors of a Superb Scout model have been floating around for awhile, but since Volkswagen is in the middle of their automotive domination and currently have the say in a lot of vehicles and their unveilings, the Skoda had to be out on the backburner until V-Dub’s Passat Alltrack was shown off first. Power for the Superb Scout will also be teetering on what’s good for the Passat, so expect it to carry the 140 HP TDI engine and not the 170 HP TDI. In all actuality, the Superb Scout should share the power setups of the Superb 4x4.
The Skoda Superb Scout in these images barely has any camouflage, so expect it to be launched by the end of the year.
The history of the Superb dates back to 1934 when Skoda first unveiled the original model. Then, in 1942, the model was dropped, never to be seen again until almost 60 years later when the marque decided it was time for a revival. Now the model is in its second generation and Skoda is making a few changes for the 2012 model year.
The facelift Superb was recently caught testing in the European Alps, and judging by the camouflage it’s donning, expect to see only a minor update to the car’s front and rear ends. The vehicle’s front and rear bumpers will get modified slightly, and there will also be new LED headlights.
Nothing will change in terms of powering the Skoda, so expect the same line of straight-four engines in petrol and diesel varieties, ranging from 1.4 L to 3.6 L. However, expect small changes to improve on fuel efficiency.
The facelift Skoda Superb will make its world debut in March 2012 at the Geneva Motor Show and will go on sale shortly after.
The Skoda Superb isn’t exactly the king of sedans, at least not for us Americans who have never driven in one and most likely will never even see one in the flesh. Of course, the sedan is a little more popular over in Europe, and now it’s received another piece of ammo in its small bag-o-guns. Skoda UK has announced the addition of a new 1.6 TDI CR 105bhp engine to the Superb line-up. The new engine will be available for S and SE models and will be available for order starting today with prices starting at £17,480.
This engine provides better driveability and fuel economy than the previous engines with its 105hp and 56.5 mpg. Breaking it down a bit, the new engine gets 6.9mpg for the Hatch and 5.6mpg for the Estate. CO2 emissions have also been reduced by 19g/km and 20g/km respectively.
The new Superb follows along the lines of every other Skoda model in the lineup. This great little car has provided enough style, practicality, and comfort to earn Top Gear Magazine’s ’Luxury Car of the Year’ and Auto Express’ best ‘Family Car’ and ‘Estate Car’ of the year.

Skoda will bring at the Frankfurt Motor Show the station wagon version of the Superb model. 4,838 mm long, 1,817 mm wide, and 1,481 mm high - the new Skoda Combi continues a tradition of more than 80 years in producing "combined cars" (hence the name "Combi").
Initially the car will be offered with a choice of three petrol and two diesel engines, all with direct fuel injection and low consumption and emissions. Diesel line-up includes: 2.0 TDI PD DPF diesel engine that generates power of 140 hp, 2.0 TDI CR DPF with 170 hp. Petrol line-up includes: 1.4 litre four-cylinder TSI engine with 125 hp, 1.8 TSI, offering power of 160 hp and 3.6 FSI V6 with 260 hp. All the engines are mated to a six-gear manual transmission or the six-gear direct shift gearbox (DSG).
Like the Superb sedan, the station wagon version can be fitted with HHC (Hill Hold Control), ESP (Electronic Stability Programme) and also TSA (Trailer Stability Assist) for use with factory-fitted towing equipment. On the interior the car can be ordered with two different 2 DIN car radios with CD/MP3 players, a touchscreen Amundsen system enabling the driver to operate all functions intuitively, a top-of-the-range touchscreen Columbus navigation system, an Aux-In socket, an MDI (Mobile Device Interface) in the Jumbo Box between the front seats to connect external storage media, and a CD changer.

Skoda launched the GreenLine version for the new Superb. The Superb GreenLine is powered by a 1.9-litre TDI PD DPF which produces 105 bhp and is capable of 55.4mpg on the combined cycle and produces only 136g/km of CO2.
The GreenLine uses clever aerodynamics and is lowered by 15mm to alter the airflow around the front end and improve fuel economy. Weight also plays a key part - the GreenLine is supplied with a tire repair kit in place of a heavy spare wheel and use low rolling resistance tires. Transmission ratios have been lengthened to improve fuel economy.

Skoda Superb is a model based on the platform of the Volkswagen Passat, and first revealed in 2001 (although the first original Superb come from 1934). Since its unveiling in 2001, Superb has become one of the best sold Skoda models: 130.000 customers has chosen it. In 2008 at the Geneva Motor Show, Skoda revealed the B6 Superb.
The new Superb comes with improvements, on both design and technology. An individual approach to design has made the Superb a fascinating vehicle. The spaciousness of the interior and the materials used increase the extraordinary level of comfort during a trip. The headlamps of the model Superb, the unusual shape of which passes all the way to the sides of the wings, lend the front section of the vehicle a dynamic appearance. They form a powerfully dominant feature and a part of the elegant design of the entire vehicle which is impossible to overlook.
The Superb arrives with several absolutely new features. For the first time on Skoda vehicles there is a driver’s knee and rear side airbags (up to 9 airbags), parking assistant and Bi-Xenon headlamps with AFS.
Superb is being offered with a wide range on engines, both petrol and diesel. The top of the range drive unit for the Superb will be a six-cylinder 3.6 FSI with a power output of 256 hp. At the current time you can choose from two four-cylinder engines – the new 1.4 TSI/123 hp and the more powerful 1.8 TSI/158 hp.
The range of diesel engines contains two supercharged four-cylinder engines with a pump-nozzle system, 1.9 TDI PD DPF /103 hp and 2.0 TDI PD DPF/138 hp. The trio is finished off by a two-litre four-cylinder engine with common-rail high-pressure injection, a 2.0 TDI CR DPF with a top power output of 167 hp.

This largest and most luxurious Å koda model line is proud of its state-of-the-art technology, original-design user-friendly comfort, and a broad assortment of added equipment, along with a palette of modern petrol and Diesel engines to choose from. Its foremost advantage however is space: its unusually comfortable interior, both for passengers in the front and rear seats, beats even many a competitor of more famous brands.<>
