Subaru is launching a 50th Anniversary Edition for each of its 2018 models, including the Crosstrek. No mechanical changes are included on the Anniversary Editions, but there are several key visual changes making the package worthwhile. Subaru is also limiting availability of the special edition.

The 50th Anniversary Edition is based on upper trim levels, which for the Crosstrek, means the 2.0i Limited. That means leather seats, the CVT, and Eyesight safety system comes standard. Like all 2018 Crosstreks, this model comes with Subaru’s 2.0-liter Boxer four-cylinder making 152 horsepower and 145 pound-feet of torque. Symmetrical AWD is standard, too, of course, and includes X-Mode and Hill Descent Control. Fuel economy is EPA-estimated at 27 mpg city and 33 mpg highway with regular 87 octane gasoline.

What Makes the 2018 Crosstrek 50th Anniversary Edition Special

First and most noticeable, the car is painted in Heritage Blue. The bright color adds character to the car while recalling Subaru’s of the past. The side mirrors, though, are accented in satin chrome. The standard wheels are painted a medium gray color rather than the glossy black normally seen on the Crosstrek Limited. Last but definitely not least, Subaru adds a 50th Anniversary badge to the front fenders.

Inside, the Crosstrek 50th Anniversary Edition comes with black leather seats with contrasting silver stitching and the 50th Anniversary logo embroidered on the front seats and carpeted floor mats. The stylized 50 includes a bright yellow star reminiscent of the stars seen in the Subaru logo. The star also adds a pop of color that’s appreciated on the otherwise dark seats Subaru also includes silver seatbelt that match other accents seen around the cabin.

The 2018 Crosstrek 50th Anniversary Edition is limited to 1,050 examples. Prices start at $30,955 with the destination fee and Subaru dealerships already have the 50th Anniversary Edition models on sale.
