The 2023 Subaru Solterra is the brand's first-ever electric vehicle

It's also a compact crossover SUV, which is one of the most popular vehicle segments nowadays

It looks similar to the Toyota bZ4X, because they're both mechanically related

But unlike the bZ4X, the Solterra is offered as standard with AWD

The EPA has not yet rated the Solterra's range, but Subaru promises more than 220 miles when it's fully charged

Unfortunately, that figure falls short of the Kia EV6's and Hyundai Ioniq 5, in which even the base versions of both models offer longer range

Its 218 hp figure, however, while not disappointing, isn't powerful either

The 2023 Subaru Solterra is now available for reservation for $250, while its final pricing will be announced closer to its on-sale date of summer 2022
