This week’s episode of Top Gear is probably the most disgusting episode we have ever seen. The guys were faced with the challenge of finding the best car for $500 and driving them 500 miles from Santa Monica to Twin Peaks in San Francisco. At first, we could only imagine just how crappy these cars were, then the Top Gear crew let us know.
In addition to the foul $500 car challenge, Ruttledge Wood was given the chance to review the scintillating Cadillac CTS-V in all three body styles: coupe, sedan, and wagon. The wagon was by far Rutt’s favorite and he was absolutely clear on that.
We were also treated to Maroon 5’s Adam Levine as he cruised around the Top gear test track in the show’s Suzuki SX4. His driving may not have been top notch, but he was extremely successful at cursing up a storm.

Whoever said that land speed records are only reserved for supercars and completely modified sports cars are sadly mistaken. You will probably be surprised to know that even standard vehicles – with the proper upgrades, of course – can have their (record) time in the spotlight as well.
Take this particular Suzuki Kizashi for example. While the Kizashi model isn’t exactly the type you’d associate for a speed machine, give it a few tune-ups and upgrades and you end up with a machine that can lay waste to a land speed record.
Such was the case with this model, dubbed the Bonneville Special, which clocked an average run of 203.720 mph at the Bonneville Salt Flats, breaking the previous record of 202.301 mph in the Blown Gas Coupe category in the process.
As part of the preparations to turn the Bonneville Special into a rampaging rocket, the boys of Advanced Product Engineering, led by Richard Holdener and Tom Habrzyk, put in hours of laborious work to power the Kizashi with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine. They also put in the time to add a Turbonetics turbocharger, a new intake manifold, forged pistons and rods, an intercooler, and revised headers. The result of all that work is a record-breaking car that produces over 500 horsepower and 420 lb/ft of torque. These numbers were impressive enough to allow the Kizashi to stake claim to the land speed record of the BGC category.

In order to increase the sales of their Swift model, Suzuki released another special edition based on the small vehicle. The Suzuki Swift Sport “N’Style Rally” Edition is a tribute brought to the Japanese carmaker’s “Group N” Junior Championship Rally car and will be built in a limited edition of just 500 units, each at a price of €17,900.
Painted in black and covered with Suzuki Motorsport’s logos, each unit comes with a 1.6 liter engine capable of developing 125 hp but also with a new body kit consisting in a front lip spoiler, new side skirts and a rear wing.
Suzuki, the Japanese manufacturer unveiled today a new kit for the well-known Suzuki Swift: the XG Aero. The new kit unveils new design lines found in the front lip spoiler, side skirts, rear bumper and rear roof spoiler. Unfortunately the kit is ] not available on the Swift Sport version with the 1.6 liter engine capable to develop 125 hp. No words about the price yet!
HKS, a well-known Japanese tuner, unveiled its latest work for customizing the Suzuki Swift Sport. The exterior of the car says it all! The aero kit includes front lip, rear lip, roof spoiler and side mirror caps, all made out of carbon fiber. The rear also features double exhaust system together with a stylish air difusor built in order to offer better stability.
The HKS Suzuki Swift Sport features 18” alloy wheels wrapped in Yokohama 215/35 R18 tires in order to offer better handling. The engine of the car remained the same: the 1.6-liter power plant is capable of producing 125 hp which is more than enough for the vehicvle. The customers who think all of the tuning parts mentioned are not enough, HKS offers them the option to upgrade the suspension and braking systems and also the chassis.
