Unless you're living on a deserted island in the Pacific, then you're probably stuck inside as the rest of us due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The lockdown isn't going to end anytime soon so you're probably looking for things to do. Watching car-related shows on the web is a good way to stay entertained these days, so we put together a list of the best car TV shows on Netflix.

Car Masters: Rust to Riches

If you've been asking yourself what car shows are on Netflix right now, you can start with with Car Masters: Rust to Riches. The show revolves around the crew from Gotham Garage, which gives classic cars modern makeovers, so it's a great choice if you like restomods. The goal is to raise the car's value and each episode features a unique project. Car Masters released two seasons so far, for a total of 16 episodes.

Fastest Car

What makes it worth watching? Well, it's a show where exotic supercars are pitted against sleepers in quarter-mile drag races. If you're a fan of high-revving exotics, this show will quench your thirst with vehicles like the Lamborghini Huracan, Ford GT, Ferrari 488, McLaren 720S and 675LT, and the Dodge Viper.

You'll also see all sorts of modified classics, like the Ford Thunderbird, Chevy C10, Buick Grand National, Mini Cooper, Ford Mustang, and Chevy Bel Air. The show features two seasons, each with eight and seven episodes, respectively. The final episode of each series is a battle between the winning cars from each episode. Definitely one of the best car shows on Netflix when it comes to racing.

Formula 1: Drive to Survive

If you're a fan of racing, especially Formula One, this series has you covered.

It includes footage from the paddock, from inside the cockpit of F1 cars, as well as the private lives of key people in the sport. The show debuted in 2019 and launched two seasons so far. Each season includes 10 episodes so it will keep you busy for a while.

Paul Hollywood's Big Continental Road Trip

This is by far the most unique car-related series on Netflix. The approach is different compared to the other shows on this list. The first thing that will raise your eyebrow is the fact that Paul Hollywood is a chef. But he's also a part-time racing driver, having raced a series of Aston Martins from 2015.

For this show, Paul traveled to three European countries to learn how the cars and drivers align to their respective national cultures. Hollywood went to Italy, Germany, and France, so expect each show to include some of the most iconic cars out there.

Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee

This is also a somewhat unique series, as it combines comedy with the characteristics of a talk show. It is hosted by Jerry Seinfeld and features a different celebrity for each episode. What's more, each episode features a different car, but more than 90 percent of them are iconic classics.

Episodes feature Seinfeld introducing a vintage car to a guest, followed by a drive to a pre-selected cafe or restaurant for coffee. Fun and relaxing. The show includes no fewer than 11 seasons. That's 84 episodes.

Rust Valley Restorers

As the name suggests, this show is about restoring old cars. And it's about a team of entrepreneurs and mechanics from Tappen, British Columbia that salvage vehicles from the massive junkyard located near the small town. Mike Hall and his crew are basically turning piles of junk into collectible cars. The show includes only eight episodes, but seven of them are centered around two iconic cars. The list of cars that get makeovers during the show includes the likes of:

-* 1966 Lincoln Continental

-* 1964 Buick Riviera

-* 1966 Ford Mustang

-* 1969 Cadillac Coupe De Ville

Hyperdrive

Hyperdrive is one of the newer series, having been launched in 2019.

An elimination process leaves only six drivers in the final round. It's basically Total Wipeout with cars. The competition is spread over 10 episodes. The first four show the qualifying rounds, while episodes five to seven show the knock-out phases. The semifinals take place in episode nine, while episode 10 decides the winner from the six remaining drivers.

West Coast Customs

West Coast Customs needs no introduction. The famous repair shop from Burbank, California, has been featured on TV for decades now and the series available on Netflix includes no fewer than six seasons. If you're into extreme mods, luxury features or simply watching the crew turn an ordinary car into a unique ride, it's the show you need to watch.

Highway Thru Hell

The firm operates on a number of highways in the area and handles all sorts of difficult rescue and recovery cases that involve steep hills, drop-offs, rock slides, and bad weather. It's a captivating series that stretches over eight seasons and 100 episodes.

Heavy Rescue: 401

But while the latter focuses on cases from British Columbia, Heavy Rescue documents operations along Ontario's 400-series highways, including the 401. The show's format is basically identical to Highway Thru Hell, but it only features four seasons as of 2020. While Highway Thru Hell debuted in 2012, Heavy Rescue: 401 was introduced in 2016.
