2018 Jeep Gladiator
The Jeep Gladiator is the company’s upcoming pickup truck based on the latest-generation Wrangler. The first Jeep-badged truck in almost three decades, the Gladiator will make its public debut at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show. A recent leak confirmed the Gladiator name too, following rumors that it might be called the Scrambler.
The Gladiator has been confirmed for some time now, but Jeep has been quiet on the details until recently. Between spy shots and insider information, we knew the pickup will have the upcoming 2018 Wrangler JL’s frame, front styling, cab, interior, and powertrains. Fortunately, the truck leaked ahead of time and now we have both photos and some information about it. Check it out in our speculative review below.
2020 Chevrolet Corvette Zora ZR1
The Corvette Zora ZR1 is one of the rumored names for Chevrolet’s upcoming mid-engined sports car. Set to be unveiled in 2019, it will be part of the eighth-generation Corvette, also known as the C8. For the time being it’s not yet certrain whether Chevy will keep making a front-engined Vette, but the midship sports car has already been spotted on public roads as a prototype.
Whether Chevrolet will keep offering a front-engined Corvette or not, the company’s goals with the C8-generation car are more than obvious. Chevy is not only aiming to offer a competitor for the Ford GT, but also wants to enter the entry-level supercar market dominated by the Porsche 911 Turbo, Ferrari 488 GTB, Lamborghini Huracan, and the McLaren 720S. 2022 Bugatti SUV
Ever since it was brought back to life in the late 1980s, Bugatti has offered only one vehicle at the time. And between the EB110 and the Veyron, there was a 10-year hiatus when the French built only concept cars. This strategy will end soon, as Bugatti finally seems ready to add a second vehicle to its current portfolio, in the form of a luxury, performance-oriented SUV.
Rumors about Bugatti planning to add a second vehicle to the lineup have been flying around ever since the company unveiled the 16C Galibier concept in 2009. For many years, it was believed the Bugatti would finally build a sedan, mostly because the French have developed no fewer than three four-door concept cars since the early 1990s. However, while Bugatti CEO Stephan Winkelmann thinks that a modern version of the Royale limousine would be popular, an SUV makes more sense financially. With that in mind, we rendered what the upcoming Bugatti SUV might look like and gathered all the information we know so far into a speculative review.
The Arctic Trucks BMW X7 Isn’t Real but We Want One
Arctic Trucks is a world-renowned off-road specialist based out of Reykjavik, Iceland whose trucks are specially designed to cross vast frozen wastelands. Their creations have a unique look, with bulging fender flares and big, oversized tires, but that look doesn’t only work on pickup trucks from Toyota, Isuzu or Nissan - it works on any high-riding vehicle, so why not the brand new BMW X7?
2020 BMW X7 M
Confirmed in 2014, the BMW X7 arrived in 2018 to take its place as the company’s flagship SUV. Now that the full-size rig is finally here, we can’t help but wonder whether an M version is underway. Does it make sense? Should BMW build one?
The large SUV market is pretty big in the U.S., where BMW is building the X7, but neither the Cadillac Escalade nor the Lincoln Navigator are powerful enough to create demand for an M version. However, Mercedes-Benz is making an AMG version of the GLS, which is taking all market share in the performance department. The AMG-prepped GLS alone is a reason enough for BMW to roll out an X7 M, but it should also be part of the company’s plans to expand the nameplate now that all crossovers are set to be offered in M form. Let’s find out what it may bring to the table in the speculative review below.

Porsche is set to launch a crossover-styled version of the Taycan. It will be based on the Mission E Cross Turismo, will be more off-road-worthy, and will be the third official model in the Taycan range.
It won’t differ too much from the concept, featuring mainly detail changes, but the same overall body and design. Some details, like the mirrors, the roof, and the rear light cluster will be different, as we’ve seen on Taycan sedan prototypes that are currently undergoing testing.
The Taycan sedan will be revealed sometime in 2019 and hit the market in 2020, so the Taycan crossover should debut sometime after the turn of the decade.
2020 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS
When it unveiled the 2016 Porsche Cayman GT4 in February 2015, Porsche finally did what gearheads had been asking for a very long time: it allowed the mid-engined Cayman to live up to its true potential, which had been kept leashed to prevent it from being faster than the base 911. Now that the first Cayman GT4 has come and gone and the mid-engined sports car it was based on received a mid-cycle update, it’s time for a new track-ready coupe.
Ever since the first GT4 was announced, enthusiasts have been asking themselves whether Porsche will take things up a notch and develop a GT4 RS. But, despite favorable rumors and the fact that an RS version would make sense, a more powerful GT4 has yet to happen. This could change with the upcoming model. And even though there’s no confirmation whether it will be called the GT4 or GT4 RS, the new coupe will definitely pack a significantly beefed-up engine. So I’m tempted to go with an "RS" badge.

2019 Mercedes-AMG GT R Roadster
Unveiled in 2014, the Mercedes-AMG GT has proven to be a worthy successor to the SLS AMG, despite being a bit smaller and rivaling the awesomeness that is the Porsche 911. Since it’s debut at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, the AMG GT has spawned many versions, including S, C, R, and Roadster versions. Limited to just the coupe model for now, the GT R will soon get a drop-top variant.
First launched for the 2017 model year, the GT Roadster made its debut in base trim, with a GT C version added soon after that. More recently, Mercedes-Benz also launched a GT S Roadster model, leaving the GT R the only trim that has yet to go topless. Rumors about a GT R Roadster have been flying around for a few years and it seems that the Germans are finally preparing a debut. The GT R Roadster was spotted recently on public roads and it appears it’s just as hot as the coupe.

The fourth-generation Cadillac Escalade went into production in early 2014, and while it’s not exactly old, it’s a bit dated compared to the more modern Lincoln Navigator. But Cadillac is looking to fix that with a new-generation model that’s rumored to arrive in 2019.
The new Escalade was initially scheduled to arrive early next year, but development was slowed down by a late decision to ditch the solid rear axle in favor of an independent suspension. It seems that Cadillac finally decided to give the Escalade, its most profitable model, a proper makeover.
Unfortunately, the SUV will continue to share underpinnings with the Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon, meaning that it will still use a truck platform. The good news is that GM is also preparing massive upgrades for its next-gen pickups, so the Escalade will be less of truck and more of an SUV. Most details are still under wraps, but let’s discuss what we already know about it, the latest rumors, as well as the rendering that our very own artist created.
2020 Aston Martin Mid-Engined Supercar
Aston Martin has yet to bring the Valkyrie hypercar into showrooms, but the Brits are already pondering a second supercar for their lineup. According to company CEO, Andy Palmer, the mid-engined supercar is also co-developed with Red Bull Racing, and 130 engineers and designers are already working on the project. The new vehicle will be aimed at the Ferrari 488 GTB.
The unnamed supercar will ride on a bespoke platform developed specifically for this model. Instead of the Valkyrie’s race-spec chassis or the Vantage’s bonded-aluminum platform, it will get its very own underpinnings that will feature a new carbon-fiber monocoque with aluminum sub-frames. There’s no specific word as to when it might arrive, but rumor has it sales will commence around 2020.

2020 Genesis Sports Car
Less than three years old as of 2018, Genesis Motors is already making headlines. Split from the Hyundai Genesis nameplate, the Korean luxury division already offers three sedans, and it’s working on a couple of SUVs too. More recently though, we got confirmation that Genesis also wants to build a sports car. The two-door coupe could be based on the Essentia concept car.
Word of Genesis’ plans to develop a sports car got out in January 2018, when Hyundai design vice president Luc Donkerwolke told Wheels Magazine that "we are definitely doing it. We are not going autonomous for all of our cars." In addition, the brand’s head of R&D, Woong-chul Yang, confirmed that Genesis wants a sports car and that its development will be handled by Hyundai’s N performance division. Not much is known about it at this point, but we created a rendering of the car, and we will discuss what we already know about this project in the speculative review below.

2019 Toyota Supra
If there is a car that is included on almost every list of “greatest enthusiasts car,” it’s the Toyota Supra. The little two-door sports car was originally bolted together as a response to the Z cars coming from competitor Datsun (and later Nissan), but it eventually grew into a special machine with a cult-like following. Now after years of rumor, speculation and dreaming, the Supra is set to return. With Toyota having launched the the Supra Racing Concept at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show and a prototype at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the next-generation coupe turned from rumor to reality and an official debut is set to happen soon.
The new-generation Supra brings the nameplate back into the spotlight after nearly two decades. Unlike its predecessor, it wasn’t developed by Toyota alone, but with help from BMW, alongside the upcoming Z4. The two cars will share underpinnings and drivetrain, but the Supra will get a unique setup from Toyota and its motorsport arm, Gazoo Racing. The production Supra made its rolling debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, but the sports car is still hidden under camo. Still, the production model is just a few months, or even weeks, away from showing itself in the metal, and we gathered all the existing information in the speculative review below. Update7-12-2018: The latest Supra prototype took a slow but steady run up the hill at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. We’ve added the video to the top of our review below and included a handful of images from its maiden voyage.
2022 Alfa Romeo 8C
The Alfa Romeo 8c is returning after an eight-year absence, and it’s going to look and perform a lot differently than its limited-run predecessor. Early plans inside Alfa Romeo indicate that the new 8C is being packaged as a 700-horsepower supercar that will be able to compete against the likes of Ferrari, Porsche, and Lamborghini. There’s no timetable yet on when the new 8C will arrive, but it should make its way into our lives before 2022, at least if it ends up happening.
2023 Alfa Romeo Large SUV
Alfa Romeo is looking to expand its hauler lineup with an even bigger vehicle that will seat seven and have an electrified drivetrain, so we put together a rendering of what it could look like.
The upcoming SUV is part of a bigger plan that also includes a new range of performance hybrid models. There’s no specific information on any car, but an announcement is expected to be made in June 2018 by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. The SUV is considered a vital model for the company’s ambitions on the U.S. market, but word has it Alfa Romeo is still waiting to see how the Stelvio does on the market before it greenlights a larger SUV. We’ll just have to wait a little longer but, until then, check out our speculative review below.
2019 Porsche Cayenne Coupe
The Porsche Cayenne Coupe is the company’s much-rumored competitor for the BMW X6, Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe, and the recently unveiled Audi Q8. Rumored to arrive for the 2020 model year, the Cayenne Coupe was spotted on public roads in many forms in recent years.
Rumors of Porsche working on a competitor for the BMW X6 surfaced a few years ago, right before the Germans launched the mid-cycle upgrade for the second-generation Cayenne. Although original reports claimed a 2015 launch, Porsche’s competitor for the BMW X6 failed to show up. In the meantime, Mercedes-Benz came up with its very own proposition, the GLE Coupe. Hopes of seeing a Cayenne coupe based on the second-generation model were almost lost after that, but 2016 brought us the first prototype of Porsche’s X6 fighter. However, instead of a redesigned Cayenne body with a sleeker roofline, our paparazzi spotted an awkward test mule that looks like a Panamera on stilts.
Later on, the Cayenne Coupe began to change and its body moved closer to the production form we all expect to see. Not much is known about it at this point, but it’s expected to use the same underpinnings as the standard Cayenne, as well as the same drivetrains. The name is not yet official so you should take the "Cayenne Coupe" with a grain of salt, but this badge is very likely given that the sleek crossover will be part of the same family. We’re still waiting for Porsche to confirm the new SUV, but until that happens, we created a rendering of the upcoming vehicle, as well as a speculative review about what it may bring to the table.

2020 Volkswagen Golf Mk8 GTI
The seventh-generation Volkswagen Golf GTI may still be the most popular hot-hatchback out there, but it’s getting a bit long in the tooth after more than four years on the market. With Ford already working on a new-generation Focus ST, which will be significantly more powerful than the current Golf GTI, Volkswagen needs to roll out a new hatchback really soon. Fortunately, the Germans are already testing the next-generation Golf GTI, which is rumored to break cover sometime in 2019.
Not much is known about the upcoming performance hatchback, but it should borrow many design features seen on recently introduced Volkswagen models, including the sporty Arteon sedan. The company also promises a revolution inside the cabin, including a "total digital environment," according to design chief Klaus Bischoff. Set to use a revised version of the company’s MQB platform, it will also a new engine with power ratings of up to 250 horsepower. Let’s find out more about that in the speculative review below.

2020 Honda Sports EV
Honda has big EV plans, and the first big step is bringing the Urban EV Concept to the market, in production form, by 2019. That much we know. And, if that’s any indication, that means the Sports EV Concept will be the next in line. And, that’s exactly why we’ve taken the liberty render up what the production model will look like. Naturally, it will maintain that sleek hatchback look but will, of course, get more production-friendly features. Range should be somewhere about the 250-mile mark and performance will likely come in somewhere around 300 to 350 horsepower. But, let’s talk more about that, and what it will take to morph the concept into a production model, in my speculative review below.
2020 Ford Mach1
The Mach 1 name has always been associated with performance, but up until now, it was associated with a higher-performance version of the Mustang Coupe. The name first came to be back in 1969 when the Mach 1 Mustang was born. It was used again in the early 2000s as a send-off for the fourth-gen Mustang. All of this happened before the SUV and crossover craze, however, and now – thanks to the overwhelming demand for SUVs and crossovers – Ford is resurrecting the Mach1 name yet again, but this time it will be a high-riding standalone performance model. It will at least be based on the Mustang, though, but will be all-electric. We’ve seen a short teaser of the Mach 1 performance crossover, but details are excessively scant for now. So, we took a little bit of creative freedom, threw it in a blender, and are now showcasing a rendering that depicts what we think the Mach1 crossover will look like.
