There are certain items out there that are marketed to automotive lovers, such as shirts, caps, lighters, wallets, and books. While we don’t recommend wearing a Ferrari polo shirt when you don’t have aFerrari in your garage, you get the idea.

One of our favorite automotive themed items are pieces of jewelry that you wear on your wrist; watches. We are huge watch fans here and we have had our share of expensive Swiss timepieces and are always happy to share our knowledge with our readers, especially if those readers are big petrol heads like us.

There are many different watch companies that have partnered with automakers, which in return, have created gorgeous masterpieces, some that can cost as much as a new car or even a house. Below we have listed our ten favorite automotive themed watches from Rolex, Breitling, and Panerai.

Rolex Oyster Professional Cosmograph Daytona

What kind of list would this be without the king of all watches. Actually, Rolex is more the king of watch marketing, as no company does it better. The Rolex Daytona has a long history in racing and is named after the Daytona International Speedway and the 24 hour race that Rolex sponsors. It’s worn by grand prix legend Jackie Stewart and Indy racing czar Roger Penske and that’s good enough for us. This is the only chronograph in the Rolex range and it features a seconds at six configuration. All of Rolex’s movement are made in-house, but that kind of engineering is going to cost you a pretty penny. Good luck finding one of these for under $8,000.

Breitling For Bentley

The partnership between Swiss watchmaker Breitling and English automaker Bentley has been a longtime coming, as they both stand for craftsmanship, precision engineering, and the finest quality. There are numerous different models in the Breitling for Bentley range, including the Flying B and the GT. We will warn you that these watches are massive in size and if you were cursed with tiny wrists, they might not work. Like the Daytona, the Breitling for Bentley range is costly.

Panerai Ferrari

Ferrari recently left their previous timepiece partner Girard-Perregaux for Officine Panerai and although that relationship is about to dissolve, there were many different models created such as the California, GMT, the GranTurismo, and the Scuderia range. Each of these models are rather expensive, but most Swiss watches are. Prices start around $5,000.

Jaeger Lecoultre Aston Martin

Jaeger Lecoultre has a long history in the watchmaking business, around 175 years. The partnership betweenAston Martin and Jaeger-LeCoultre began in 2004 with the launch of the Aston Martin Jaeger-LeCoultre gentleman’s watch - the AMVOX1. Both of these companies have a long history in outstanding products and amazing craftsmanship. Now, while the Rolex, Breitling, and Panerai seem expensive, this watch is seriously costly at around $12,000.

Chanel J12 Superleggera

No, Superleggera doesn’t have anything to go with Lamborghini, but the J12 does have a nice automotive heritage. The Chanel J12 Superleggera chronograph is constructed from ceramics, the same material that is now being used in motor sports. The watch gets a nice black and silver finish and it’s certainly light weight, hence the name.

TAG Heuer Carrera

The preferred watch of Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button is the Tag Carrera. Although the name is used by Porsche, this watch has no connection with the German company. Carrera is Spanish for "race", making us think of the famous Carrera Panamericana rally in Mexico. The Tag brand is legendary in motor sports, and big names like Steve McQueen wore one. As a brand, Tag is about as automotive as it gets.

Parmigiani Fleurier Bugatti 370

This watch, made by Swiss watchmaker Parmigiani Fleurier for Bugatti makes about as much sense as the Veyron. Most have never heard of this watchmaker and some probably haven’t heard of the car, but both are fine pieces of craftsmanship and both are seriously expensive. The 370 sells for around $200,000, which should be just pocket change to those that can actually afford the car. The case of the watch is 18-karat gold and the face is on the bottom of the watch, so drivers don’t have to turn their wrists when their hands are on the wheel.

Omega Speedmaster Legend

You either love him or hate him, but you can’t deny that Michael Schumacher was one of the best racing drivers of all time. To honor the seven-time world champion, Omega has created a version of its legendary Speedmaster just for the German driver. It features the same wonderful Speedmaster design and the legendary Omega excellence, all for a decent price. If you want a chronograph and don’t mind the Schumacher details, this is the one to get.

Chopard Mille Miglia

The Mille Miglia is one of the most famous classic races in the world, and Chopard has been sponsoring the event for over twenty years. This watch sells in the $3,000 range, features a tachometer, chronometer, and chronograph. The rubber strap has the same pattern as 1950’s-era Dunlop racing tire. The watch features a classic look and we certainly love it.

Oris Wiliams F1

Oris and Williams have been working together for quite some time now. To celebrate this new partnership, Oris launched a premium, limited edition watch. Just 300 units of the jubilee edition Oris TT3 Formula Gold were available, but thankfully they didn’t cost nearly as much as the Bugatti watch. Oris makes many different watches that bear the Williams name for prices as low as $1,500.

The Chanel J12 Superleggera for me is the number 1 of the list. It is definitely cooler than Oris Wiliams F1.

I’m currently drooling upon staring those luxurious watches. I am still dreaming of having my own Panerai Ferrari watch. But I know I couldn’t afford $5,000.

Definitely gorgeous looking watches. But I am really not fan of these car themed watches, mainly because of the price. Imagine that, a car themed watch that’s almost as expensive as the car itself.

oh why didn’t the Ferrari 360 wrist watch make it to the list?
