Trucks, food, and parties are a fantastic combination that most often goes together in stadium parking lots outside sporting events. Tailgating has almost become a sport in and of itself and Texas chef Tim Love has created the ultimate tailgating machine. Built in time to party at one of the largest rivalries in college football, the Tundra and Tim Love cooked it up for 50 select fans outside Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, TN before the showdown between the Tennessee Volunteers and Alabama Crimson Tide.

For those tailgating, the truck was the main event. Commissioned by Love himself and built by Divine One Customs, the truck features a host of upgrades that make it the perfect party spot. A specialized table rolls out from the truck bed and holds a Solaire 27-inch grill with infrared burners, two cutting boards, a chilled cooler for storage, stainless steel ingredient containers, and two taps for beer and wine.

What’s more, the Tundra’s camper shell hides two 24-inch and one 40-inch flat screen TVs, a PlayStation4, and an Apple TV. A Rockford Fosgate audio system provides sound for all the festivities. The camper shell is lifted with four vertical actuators that raise the entire package upward, revealing the goods. The side windows swing open for viewing the TVs.

Mechanical updates include a 2.4-inch front leveling kit and a two-inch rear lift, 33-inch Toyo tires, 22-inch wheels, fender flairs, step bars, a front light bar with LED lights, a roof rack with spare tire, and custom paint work finished with Love’s “eat, drink & live well” slogan.

The Toyota Tundra received a healthy refresh for 2014, including many new exterior body panels and a heavily reworked interior. Added is the range-topping 1794 Edition, which combines rich leathers with that cowboy motif that’s so popular in trucks these days.

The Tundra comes with the choice of a V-6 and two V-8s. The base engine is a 4.0-liter V-6 that produces 270 horses and 278 pound-feet of torque. The smaller V-8 displaces 4.6 liters while producing 310 horsepower and 327 pound-feet of torque. The largest and most powerful engine offered is the 5.7-liter V-8 with 381 horsepower and 401 pound-feet of torque.

Pricing for the Tundra starts just under $26,000 and rises to over $47,000 for the 1794 Edition before options.

At the annual Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show, performance is normally measured in horsepower and torque. Thanks to celebrity chef Tim Love and his build team at Divine 1 Customs, this year’s SEMA can add British thermal units (BTUs) and decibels to the mix. His Tim Love Tundra incorporates an interactive tailgating experience that features a 27” grill putting out 24,000 BTUs as well as a full Rockford Fosgate audio system.

“This ingenious build highlights why the Tundra is the truck of choice for so many hard-working Americans,” said Steve Appelbaum, Toyota’s engagement marketing and motorsports national manager. “It’s more than capable of hauling equipment to the job site during the week and then pulling tailgate duty at the stadium on game day.”

Chef Tim Love is the owner of multiple Texas restaurants including Lonesome Dove Western Bistro, Woodshed Smokehouse and the White Elephant Saloon. He is known for his innovative grilled, roasted, braised and slow-cooked meals and his Texas inspiration. Love’s unique style dubbed “urban western cuisine” has helped elevate the Fort Worth-area food scene to national prominence.

The Tim Love Tundra made its culinary debut at the college football face-off between Alabama and Tennessee at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville — in front of over 150,000 hungry fans. Chef Love amazed a throng of pregame tailgaters when he pulled out the grill system from the Tundra’s bed. The system features a Solaire 27” grill with infrared burners, two John Boos cutting boards, two taps for beer and wine and cold storage coolers. The integrated audio system pumped out music at concert-level sound quality and fans were able battle the game out virtually thanks to the onboard PlayStation®4.

“My cooking is about having fun and putting a surprise twist into classic dishes,” said Love. “This Tundra is definitely perfect for my style,” he added. “It’s capable of serving up delicious food and a great time to all of my tailgating friends.” The Tim Love Tundra will be on display from November 4-7 at the 2014 SEMA Show. The Toyota display booth (#24700) is located in the Central Hall.
