Back in the 2010 SEMA Auto Show, the Toyota Sienna made a surprise appearance at the world’s biggest aftermarket show as the Swagger Wagon Supreme. Fast forward to 2014, and the Sienna is returning to SEMA in a number of different configurations, one of which is the one-off Sienna:Remix.

This audio house on wheels was jointly developed by SiriusXM and West Coast Customs, two establishments with out-of-the-box creativity, joining forces in an attempt to turn the Sienna into a certified party wagon.

Toyota even found a way to integrate the Sienna:Remix to its old "Swagger Wagon" campaign, showcasing this new project as the latest example of how "fun" can still come from unlikely places like, say, a minivan.
In some ways, you can think of the Sienna:Remix as the Swagger Wagon Supreme’s spiritual successor, a lineage of two heavily customized Sienna minivans that were created to imbibe the van’s identity as a fun and spunky vehicle with limitless aftermarket potential.

The proof is in the pictures, ladies and gentlemen. The Sienna Remix is unlike any Sienna you’ve ever seen outside of the Swagger Wagon Supreme.

The exterior look of the Sienna:Remix wasn’t touched up too much, if you can believe that. Other than the black grille and the set of Giovanna alloy wheels, everything is where it’s supposed to be. Or is it?

Once the Sienna:Remix gets in the mood to be the life of the party, a 360-degree A/V column pops out of the roof, revealing a pair of massive, 40-inch, LCD monitors, four 12-inch subwoofers, 16 speakers, and two LED bars. Wowza.

But that’s not all. The Sienna:Remix also has a DJ booth, eight additional speakers, five amplifiers, and two 32-band equalizers that can be found when the tailgate slides out.

A quick glance at the interior of the Sienna:Remix reveals what looks more like a command center than a cushy minivan.

Despite it’s reputation as a kid-mover and grocery-hauler, the Toyota Sienna actually packs a powerful 3.5-liter, V-6 engine with dual overhead cams and variable valve timing. The engine is able to produce 266 horsepower and 245 pound-feet of torque, and it mates to a six-speed automatic transmission.

The Sienna is able to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in about 7.8 seconds to go with a top speed of around 115 mph, all while achieving impressive fuel ratings of 18 mpg in the city, 25 mpg on the highway, and 21 mpg combined.

You’re not going to be able to buy the Sienna:Remix, but you can buy a standard Sienna. In that case, you’re going to need at least $28,600 to buy the base model. That price tag balloons up to $46,000 for the trip trim with AWD .

I’ve never pictured myself driving a minivan. Then again, I’ve never pictured a minivan looking anything like the Sienna:Remix. If ever an exception was to be made, this has to be it. I mean, this is about as nutty as it could get. You roll around town in a minivan without any rear seats. Then all of a sudden, a massive audio system pops out from the roof and then all hell breaks loose.

If you can’t be the life of the party with the Sienna:Remix, then you’re probably hanging out with the wrong crowd.

  • Leave it
    • There’s no space inside for seats
    • It’s not a production model
    • Maintenance might be expensive

Kirby’s first exposure into the world of automobiles happened when he caught Knight Rider on television as a five-year old boy. David Hasselhoff didn’t leave much of an impression on him (that happened later on in Baywatch), but KITT certainly did. To this day, Kirby remains convinced that he will one day own a car with the same ‘spirit’ as the original KITT (not the 2008 monstrosity). He doesn't know when that will be, but until then, he’s committed to expressing his love for KITT, and all cars for that matter, here at TopSpeed.  Read full bio

The Sienna is famous for being the perfect vehicle for family road trips, hauling the kids to soccer practice and the weekly grocery restocking ritual. And thanks to West Coast Customs and SiriusXM, the Sienna can add rocking a party to the aforementioned list.

“The Sienna:Remix celebrates the large part that music plays in our lives, at all stages,” said Toyota Engagement Marketing and Motorsports National Manager, Steve Appelbaum. “It also reinforces our message in the ‘Swagger Wagon’ campaigns — that the life-changing role of being a parent doesn’t mean the end of fun as we know it. It’s more fun with more family members added to the mix,” he continued, “and that’s when the Sienna’s power sliding doors really come in handy.”

To keep the surprise factor, the exterior of the Sienna:Remix is fairly close to factory. Custom mesh wheels, blacked-out grille and color-matched emblems give a subtle hint to what’s in store. Hit a few switches and the Sienna:Remix shows its true intentions in a series of motorized reveals that leave spectators stunned. A 360-degree A/V column consisting of two 40” LCD monitors, four 12” subwoofers,16 speakers and two LED bars rises out of the roof like something out of the latest installment of “The Transformers.” The trunk opens revealing not bags full of organic groceries, but a fully functional DJ booth including eight more speakers and plug-in access to the beastly audio system. Hiding inside are five amplifiers and two 32-band equalizers, giving the Sienna:Remix both ample power and sound quality to make this year’s PTA fundraiser the hottest spot in town.
