The 2020 Toyota Ornamental Conifer GR Supra is a customized version of the Japanese coupe designed for the 2020 SEMA Show. Now converted to the SEMA360 Showcase online presentation due to the coronavirus pandemic, the event will debut four special-edition Toyota models, including this GR Supra. What makes the Toyota Ornamental Conifer GR Supra special?

But it's not just any livery. It's created by British artist Nicolai Sclater, also know as Ornamental Conifer, and it's a tribute to the lost art of sign painting and automobile graphics. It's not as fancy as an art car, but the fact that everything you see on the stock Turbulence Gray body was hand-painted is cool enough. But it also features letters that look as if they are 3D and black detailing on the front and rear fascia that mimic a mesh grille.

“Nico’s creativity and skills are over the top, and simply amazing,” said Ed Laukes, group vice president – Toyota Division Marketing. “What he created in the Ornamental Conifer GR Supra is pure art. To think he did this and all the accompanying artwork by hand blows me away, especially in an era where digitally printed vinyl wraps are the rage. I’m looking forward to hearing what automotive enthusiasts and Supra fans think of this project.”

It also includes a few sponsor-like motifs, so the Ornamental Conifer wouldn't look out of place on a racing grid.

But that's all there is to this SEMA project. Everything else remains unchanged, so there are no cabin upgrades to talk about. The same goes for the engine. This car is a 3.0 Premium trim, so it's powered by the range-topping, 3.0-liter inline-six engine. The BMW-sourced turbo unit cranks out a solid 382 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque through an eight-speed automatic transmission. It's definitely quick enough for the race-inspired livery.
